Ok so I'll start it off.

Has anyone else had a huge increase in discharge? It's gone from clear and not too much to thick and white, and copious amounts.

hey all, hope everyone is well. I have been looking on these threads for ages and not said hi for ages, have been so ill for around 2 months that i just haven't had the energy, a few iron tablets down the line and i'm feeling great again! its nice to read how everyone is getting on, and i will now be making a concious effort to pop in and write when i can! still at work for another week, will be finishing on 13th feb, then moving house on 21st feb, and baby due on 14th march so am going to be exhausted again! ah well, once its done it will be great!!!!

kanga5 · 04/02/2009 16:09

Had to pop out to get the boys from school - not easy in all this ice and snow.
fearless I think I am not so much expert as glutton for punishment!!! We have three boys aged 8,6 and nearly 5, and a girl nearly 2. I did BF all of them, but when sterilising I just boiled everything including breastpump. I should have invested in a machine as it would have been used lots by now! Incidentally our little girl had a spell in hospital last christmas and I used their steam sterilisers to keep up the BF (had to express). They seemed OK.

good luck to all the homebirthers, I've never had one as I am always overdue...wonder if it might be different this time!!!

kanga5 · 04/02/2009 16:12

I meant to say not last christmas 2008 but 2007...made it sound like I was still BF her and very pregnant - is that even possible?

Slickbird · 04/02/2009 16:35

Hello to all those making a comeback!

With my last pregnancy at this stage I had her butt sticking in my ribs so badly all the MW's thought it was her head and that she was breech - had a scan to check and she was head down! But the rib flare it gave me was agony! This time, it's ok so maybe he's got a softer butt than DD2! With DD1 it was a foot stuck under the ribs! Still, I guess there's still time to get all that. Just over three weeks to go now. I AM SO READY to get this baby out!

Twocute Well done on getting to 37 weeks - any time you like now!

Oh God, Gross - there's a kids prog on that my DD1 is watching about eating insects and how we should all eat more insects. Aye right! I'm away to throw up.

twocutedarlings · 04/02/2009 16:44

yep dd1 is also watching to same crap!! slick

Did you pack that bag yet???

Welcome kanga

No, but i've thought about it . I better think about do a birthplan as well .

MKG · 04/02/2009 17:38

Ok who dares me to climb into the attic and take down the cradle that dh was supposed to do last night.

I thinking about how many items I'll have to climb over to get to it.

meep · 04/02/2009 18:16

baby Alex/Alexander is our choice for a boy too!

twocutedarlings · 04/02/2009 18:22

Do you know the best of it is, that i have not packed at bag!! lol as you all know i am planning a HB so i have packed a drawer instead i figured that if i need to be transfered then it would only take DH a few mins to chuck it in a bag!!

Alex is also on our short list!!

lizziemun · 04/02/2009 18:26

Alex is good name.

Mind you dd2 is Alexandra so i could be a bit bias .

Helloo everyone! Been wondering why all the Marchies were so quiet, and then realised theres a new thread, after its 4 pages long already

Can someone please add me to the list too? I'm due 31st March, It's our first too, dont know what it is, and I'm 24 ...cheers :-)

I havnt been getting loads and loads of discharge..or maybe the pantyliners are really good and catches it all before I get a chance to see it, lucky me

Boobz · 04/02/2009 20:38

I'm Alexandra so obviously am all in favour of Alex as a name

DH gone away for 3 days and I feel pretty lost without him, even though I complain and nag at him when he is here (he's so messy and I'm trying to nest!) I'm so up and down with hormones at the moment; the dog is all over the place, the house is a tip, I'm still working and hating it (soooo unmotivated) and all I want to do is cuddle up to him and get him to tell me how great I am for carrying his baby (which is kicking me in the ribs, AGAIN).

That all sounds very me me me, huh? I just want the house to be tidy when I wake up tomorrow, the dog to be happy, my job to tell me to take the rest of these 2 weeks off and my DH to give me a lovely massage. Don't want much, eh?

Ramble ramble.

twocutedarlings · 04/02/2009 20:49

Boobz very un MN (((((hugs)))) for you! your not being me me me at all, tis hard work growing a baby, you work hard and you deserve to be spoilt!!

I insist that you snuggle up on the sofa, with chocolate and nice glass of something (maybe a little wine) and i will send the fairys over to sort the house work .

Boobz · 04/02/2009 21:28

Aww thanks 2cute. You are lovely.

Can you remind the fairies to do the cat litter as well (which DH conveniently FORGOT to do this morning before he left?)

Ta xxx

MKG · 04/02/2009 21:36

Can the fairies come and take my children and husband away? Just for two days.

twocutedarlings · 04/02/2009 21:51

Your welcome

Fairies on there way over your way soon MKG, they are just finishing fitting my new dinning room floor .

goldmother2b · 04/02/2009 22:01

Please can I have those fairies next - I have about 4 loads of clean washing that needs to be put away and I just can't get motivated to do it.....

Anyway - a quick opinion required - how would you feel if your sister named her new daughter after you?

DH and I really like my sister's name for our LO, but don't know if its the done thing!

xx

Boobz · 04/02/2009 22:23

Use it. One of my fave girl's names is one of our close friend's names, and I'm sure everyone will think we named her after her, but we don't care, we just love the name.

Boobz · 04/02/2009 22:24

If it's a girl, obviously. Would be a bit mean to use it for a boy.

goldmother2b · 04/02/2009 22:37

Thanks Boobz - just out of interest what's your friend's name? My sister is called Katie.

Boobz · 04/02/2009 22:56

Marianne.

MKG · 04/02/2009 23:52

I think it's great. I don't personally do first names after people. I do their middle name after someone. ds1 has Robert after my dad, ds2 has Patrick after one of my favorite cousins, and this little girl will have my sister's middle name (Shannon) as my sister's name is really unique and doesn't work as a middle name. Her name is Darcy.

OP posts:
Sunshinesmith · 05/02/2009 00:40

loving the fairies - me next?

have any of you already started on the raspberry leaf tea?

i really didn't like the taste last time - do u know if tablets have the same effect?

xx

meep · 05/02/2009 07:19

Katie is on my girls list! Not on DH's though because he doesn't like any of my girls names and his list has no names at all on it!!!

Hadn't thought of Alexandra for a girl though - but that is a definite addition to my list - thank you lizzie and boobz! Boobz at this pont of my pregnancy with dd I became very clingy with dh - I would get quite tearful if he was away over night and felt almost scared on my own. Was teh same after the baby was born - i sobbed when he went back to work after his paternity leave and found it hard when he even went out for the night. Think it was my mad hormones!

Haven't had it quite so bad this time round- probably because I've got dd with me too.

It was weird because i'mnormally quite independent and actualy like spending a wee bit of time on my own.

Made it through from 10pm to 6.30am with a wee last night - is that a record? Mind you when I stood up this morning it took what little pelvic control I had not to wee on the carpet

It's icy cold up here. at slick for the ice inside the windows. Think the lowest we've had is -4. Brrrr!
