I'm BACK!!!

And I'm not pregnant anymore! Woo Hoo.

Haven't read the thread as wanted to get my news in, but will have a good read through s looks like lots going on.
Am so so sorry I've taken ages to update.

DD2 arrived at 8:28 am on Thursday morning after a speedy easy labour, I can't actually believe it.

Istayed in hospital till yesterday, came home about 3pm, as my bum was so sore there was no way could manage the steps at home .

Have breastfed pretty much constantly since, even in my sleep. Speaking of which I have had 8 hours of that thing called sleep since Wed am. OO er. so bit mind melted.

Birth story to follow once mil arrives to hold the baby!! Can't wait to catch.

LenniEd · 24/01/2009 16:22

Yay! Was just starting to worry about you Tree! Congratulations

Name? Birth weight? Come on Tree... spill not like you've got anything else to do eh!!

moosemama · 24/01/2009 16:23

Yay Tree way to go! Another beautiful daughter - congratulations! Is she going to be another Elizabeth or haven't you decided yet?

Anyway, have put the champagne on to chill on the PN thread and will pop in for a visit later.

Congratulations again! x

tinkhashertinklet · 24/01/2009 16:44

yah tree congrats

hkz · 24/01/2009 17:12

Hooray! Congrats tree! Looking forward to hearing details! Who needs sleep anyway?! [delirious sleep deprived new mummy emoticon]

fourlittlefeet · 24/01/2009 17:19

yay... haven't been able to get on with my days at all as have kept checking the thread hourly!! Glad it was easy for you tree, and looking forward to hearing the story. Congratulations!

missjackson · 24/01/2009 18:15

Congratulations Tree! Glad that after all your stop-starts it was actually a quick labour.

Can't wait to join you guys on the PN thread! If my baby is born in Feb, do you chuck me out?!

Have felt very slow and tired all day, and the usual twinges so maybe tonight is the night... but have my sweep tomorrow morning so fingers crossed that will work. A week overdue tomorrow!

Hope you all have a rocking Saturday night!

LenniEd · 24/01/2009 18:20

Nope definitely don't chuck you out Miss Jackson there is a mid-Jan baby on my Dec 06 post-natal thread!

Congratulations Tree.

I'm trying to resist overreacting as I think this is just something that's going to go on for days, but I'm getting the cold shivers I normally get in the way most women seem to get period pains, and I felt very twingy and weird around lunchtime today, it eased off in the bath.

We're trying to find a garden shed to buy and ended up in Wickes this afternoon. Now, I don't want the mocked up interiors of Homebase, really, but I wish they'd provide the odd chair, at least near the unstaffed help desk.

My parents (who split up at the time I was born) have both been ringing to check I'm not about to go into labour, and I was trying to explain my symptoms to my mum and feeling terribly guilty that all this is disrupting their lives as well.

My dad lives near us and we've asked him to look after ds1 while dp is with me, but wanted to know whether he could buy a ticket for a concert this evening.

My mum lives over 200 miles away and is going to try to get down as quickly as possible to be with us (long labours are a family tradition and ds1 followed in it) but her husband has arranged to go out in his car (the big one) and offered people lifts - she has all sorts of baby equipment (twin buggy and ds1's outgrown stuff being stored up there) to cart down in it. She's also realised that she can't really have a few glasses of wine of an evening in case I ring.

So it's not just me that feels everything's a bit on hold right now.... Aaaarrrrrghhhh.

EachPeachPearMum · 24/01/2009 19:58

COngratulations Tree! so speedy too!

well- had some contractions last night- proper ones... but nothing at all today.
DD had a birthday party to attend, which was lovely- one of the children born at same time as her, so it was lovely to catch up with my original post-natal group.
Very tired though.... just want this bambino out now!

LenniEd · 24/01/2009 20:00

Elk - know exactly how you feel - we had PIL on standby and friends for the occasions when PIL weren't available and I was getting endless texts and calls asking if I thought anything might happen since they wanted to go out/drink/otherwise continue with normal life. As it turned out when I did realise things were happening at 10 in morning (rather than middle of night as I expected) I couldn't get hold of anyone since they were all at work/shopping/walking the dog!! You really can't plan for anything can you, if only babies came with a specific date and time for delivery. Although that would be a bit scary really.

LooseyC · 24/01/2009 21:15

Ray and Tree - fab news, huge congrats! Can't wait to hear all about it.

I will try and focus on the fact that babies are being born here as I am also in a grump about being overdue... and trying to keep busy here also. I keep on having to buy stuff to stock up the fridge as I have to have a fornights worth of food in the house or I start to panic! (local shops are 2 mins away btw) I need these hormones to settle down now please!

Elkiedee - yes we are the same. PIL are on standby here to look after ds and they rang again today to see what was up. I feel a bit bad that they can't do much and think it's 'action stations' every time the phone rings, but there really isn't an alternative for us. I'm sure they understand though and we'll probably end up doing the same for these little ones someday!

qumps · 24/01/2009 21:31

huge congratulations to ray and tree and yay to more positive births. looks like the karma has been balanced out of tough pregnancies. can't wait to hear the stories.
dh on his way home with maccie ds. surely i should have stopped those requests post pregnancy?!

chefswife · 24/01/2009 21:50

congratulations to tree and ray! tree i've mastered the sleeping while feeding thing too. very good thing to keep your rest.

where is the post-natal thread?

i've requested too, to be a member of the facebook group. who does it?

MissHairspray · 24/01/2009 22:30

Hi all haven't got time to read everything at the mo but wanted to tell you that Oliver James was born at 1am on Thursday morning weighing in at 9lb 12 oz. Was supposed to go in to be induced at 8am on Weds but started having contractions at 3am so ended up at the MLU in the end. Was a long labour mainly because his head was so big, but the midwifes were fab and we got him out in the end without too much hassle. Feeding has been another matter but i'll bore everyone on the antenatal thread with that. He is totally gorgeous and has a full head of blonde hair which was unexpected but v. cute.

Congrats to all of the other new arrivals and i'll pop in soon with a proper birth story.

Good luck those of you still waiting...

missjackson · 24/01/2009 22:39

MissHairspray Brilliant news and congratulations; what a great name too. You sound so chilled out, 'we got him out in the end without too much hassle' - at nearly 10lb!!! You should be super proud of yourself. Hope you have a lovely time getting to know him.

Chefswife I think you'll have to wait for Rray to find some facebook time, as she is the admin for the group! The sleeping while feeding technique sounds like a good one.

Off to bed now with usual niggles and twinges. Maybe this time it will turn into something?!

xx

EachPeachPearMum · 24/01/2009 22:43

Congratulations MissH! welcome baby Oliver.

rrrayray · 24/01/2009 23:41

Hellllllllooooooo

Yes as reported not pregnant anymore!!

Shattered. have had about 2 hours sleep (and broken sleep at that) since wednesday night. Don't know how i'm even awake.

Esme Mae was born at 8.45am Fri morning. 6lb6. Absolutely Besotted.

Labour, my god, it was painful. But was a woman on a mission and managed to hold out for just gas and air!!!

According to labour notes 1st stage 6.25 mins and 33 mins second stage. Bloody placenta 37 mins... thing didn't want to budge!

Stayed in MLU last night for breastfeeding help, aslo because OH still had to travel and play today

Right, missy is fed, and settled (for now) time to try and catch some sleepies!

elkiedee · 25/01/2009 00:49

Congratulations MissHairspray, welcome Oliver. Also welcome home and back to Mumsnet rray and Esme Mae.
