my boyfriend used to say that I was the most positive person he knew. Now he says I'm one of the most negative. I hope I haven't lost who i am forever...

AuldAlliance · 12/01/2009 15:14

Those who do have experience of Amby beds or similar, can you tell me how much room one takes up?

Bleuravin · 12/01/2009 15:16

Yes I quite agree Barbarella, you look in fine shape.

Bubbaluv · 12/01/2009 15:16

Frosty, the Ambi was awesome! I used to put DS in and give it a push and by the time it stopped swinging he'd be asleep!
Auld, maybe check out ebay and see if anyone is selling one? Teh hammock just goes in the wash so no probs about it being second hand. They aren't small though- def need to measure up what space you have.

BabyBolat · 12/01/2009 15:17

Frosty - Firstly twice a day - I am lucky if I have the energy to brush my teeth twice a day - am joking - I do brush regularly!!

As for emotions - yes all over the place but am controlling the crying a lot more at the moment but think that is mainly because DH and I are getting on much better. Everyone keeps telling me you find yourself again (although new and improved) once the baby is born so don't feel too bad!!

I have never heard of Ambi beds - here comes google for me....

i hope so, thank you so much for the reassurance xxx

i was obsessing over those amby hammocks last week. I really want one!

purlease · 12/01/2009 15:24

Frekkles: twice a day and [envious]

Of course your hormones will be all over the place. I cried last week because my DD wouldn't eat her lunch - how pathetic is that.

Makes sense for your ex not to want updates - you have a new life which may be hard for him.

All anyone else done the ring test to predict sex of baby?

Nutty, I think you can get a cat net for it like you would have over a moses basket or cot?

I think you could use the mosquito net to keep the cats off. What would you use on the moses basket?

i had set all my privacy settings on facebook so that he wouldn't have to see any comments that anyone posted aand I don't do any updates myself. So he wouldn't have been getting any updates. but I know it's part of the process and I can't be too upset or too surprised. I just have to bide my time and wait for him to be able to be my friend again. I just hope that's one day. I miss him so much.

I don't really get the sex thing either ladies. I'm just feeling pretty insatiable at the moment, and it's the only thing that makes me feel like my old self just now. I', probably cursing myself and next week it'll all stop.. But if it's any consolation in my last realtionship I went for years without due to ex's depression and ensuing problems with ahem stuff you know. So maybe this is my reward!

I want an Amby hammock!!! Does anyone still have the link to the pregnancy grant thingy? That was about the price of an amby wasn't it?

Frosty, a friend of mine recently changed her facebook to the iltimate Privacy setting (that's what she said it was called). That way if he is not your friend (on facebook) it will look to him like you're no longer on there. He can't even search for your name as you don't come up. It does mean that any other people who might want to find yo won't see you there either, but thought you might like to know it's an option?

see? i wander away again and take an hour to catch up!

i'm well. so far. DS has a(nother) tummy bug so i'm just waiting to see if i get it. so far i feel ok so fingers crossed that it'll be ok. (i've had a whole month without vomiting!)
baby is kicking me like crazy. most seems to be aimed at my cervix. MW thinks i'm nuts but i'm telling you that's where i feel it!

anyone else getting pain in their ribs/back? had it last time as well but much later. last time GP thought it might be my body making room. bloody well hurts anyway. (and if my body needs to make room this early i'm in trouble aren't i?!)

right, i should go deal with the sick kid or something!

surprisenumber3 · 12/01/2009 15:42

sex twice a day not had it for over a week! my back hurts so much when I go to bed that I ask DH for a massage and he ends up falling asleep after about 2 minutes and then I'm just in a mood with him!!

Talking of pregnancy grants, has anyone had the form from the midwife yet?

Am seeing MW Wednesday and I need a MATB1 form too - does she have them to fill in there?

Bubbaluv · 12/01/2009 15:43

Nutty, My DH had the same reaction at first, but once he saw what an effect it had he thought it was money well spent! The moses basket is still good to have as it is so easy to lug about (we used to take it to the pub and out to dinner!) and you're going to need a cot eventually anyway!

Bleuravin · 12/01/2009 15:46

I also live in a 2 story house, kitchen on bottom floor, living and spare/hobby room on middle with a bath and Master and old hobby room/new nursery on the top. I wouldn't dream of carrying one of those Moses baskets up and down those winding stairs. I've got the Cot for the Nursery, a swinging Bassinet (crib) for the living room and I figure a bouncy chair thingy for the kitchen as I stay out of there as much as I can.

I've seen those amby hammocks on ebay and they've not been cheap even second hand. One woman commented that the reason she was selling hers was because it was not as portable as she had hoped it to be (she was living in a flat I think)

Hormones- I just finished crying because I couldn't get a hold of DH to tell him about my MW appointment mishap. Silly really. I had a lie down and cried about that and read about Active birthing techniques and then cried about women's birthing stories. Sometimes I get so angry with myself for being such a 'baby.' But I think part of it is that I'm homesick too so it's a bit of a double whammy for me currently. It's why I get neurotic when I can't get ahold of DH. Fear of being alone/abandonment I guess.

I have to wait for the ring test till Dh gets home I guess... though you'll have to wait for verification of the baby's sex because even WE don't know yet.

Bubbaluv · 12/01/2009 15:46

PurpleMonkey, Mine kicks me in the cervix too! Quite common I thought - wonder why your midwife thinks it's odd?
