Purplemonkey I too have kicks down there AND I have the added joy of the pain in my ribs lately. Dh often rubs my sides which seems to help the aching ribs for some reason. And when Sprite is kicking low I just poke him back and try to move him out of that spot again.

it was with DS that i mentioned it. and the MW was about 12 i think. maybe she's more aware now!

frostyfrekkles · 12/01/2009 16:00

thanks bubbaluv. I think that's what he's done to mebecause he doesn't even come up in my friend's friends lists. But if I'm logged in as one of my friends (accomodating friend helped) he's still there. He must be hating me just now.

with that amby hammock thing I like the way that you can hook it off other thinks, like door frames and such so it's really portable. I have some big old hooks in the ceiling at my studio, so I'm hopefull that I'll be able to take it to my studio too and get some art made in between feeds while the wee one's sleeping.

Hope I haven't annoyed anyone with the sex thing. I'm not trying to brag honest. It's just the only thing that I'm doing at the moment that tallies with what the old me would be doing. Twice a day isn't so much for me and the young man, as we were having more than that before I got pregnant. Probably this is the reason I got pregnant accidently, tis the most pysical passionate relationship I've ever had. BUt remember too that we don't see each other every day, that we don't have any kids, and that he's 6 years younger than me!

surprisenumber3 · 12/01/2009 16:02

you haven't annoyed frekkles, just envious

springysunshine made me envious with her earlier post too and cuddles in bed, showering with her man etc, need to talk to DH about this!!

frostyfrekkles · 12/01/2009 16:03

i'm getting kicks all over the place too. ALso when I lie on my side (either side) bambino starts squirming about and kicking like it's umcomfortable for him. Which is annoying as I can't sleep on my back. You can't actually damage them can you by lying on your side?

surprisenumber3 · 12/01/2009 16:04

It's recommended to lie on your side, preferably left side. But I keep waking up on my back.

Bleuravin · 12/01/2009 16:07

Mmm. Showering with Dh is a great joy actually, though it getting tough to get past each other n the narrow tub cuz the belly is getting so big. We probably shower together once a week - conserves water... usually that is ...if we don't get distracted

Bleuravin · 12/01/2009 16:10

One of my books says laying on your back cn cut off blood to the norrow part of your body... I often lay on my back with a little pillow under one hip, or a leg bent and heel near my crotch as this is supposed to shift the baby off the artery (or vein-which ever)which gets compressed when alying on the back

frostyfrekkles · 12/01/2009 16:11

hmmm, so maybe bambino is squirming in pleasure?

surprisenumber3 · 12/01/2009 16:12

i like settling into a warm bubbly back with a good book but DS2 bursts in, whips his clothes off and that's the end of that!

We went away on our own for the weekend in November and went to bed and straight to sleep at 10.30 as we were shattered

Think we have some intimate time to catch up on...but with DS1 being nearly 10, it's a bit difficult unless it's the middle of the night!!

surprisenumber3 · 12/01/2009 16:14

bubbly bath

BoffinMum · 12/01/2009 16:16

If you want to lie on your back, just use about 4 pillows strategically arranged behind you, and recline like a goddess. If anything is wrong, your body lets you know by making you feel a bit dizzy so you want to move. It's not harmful to experiment a bit with different sleeping positions.

Bubbaluv · 12/01/2009 16:24

Boffin, Totally agree. If you feel fine on your back then you ARE fine on your back. I've never had a problem with it, but some people get really woozy.

'recline like a goddess' it's only fitting as I, atleast, am looking more and more like one of those goddess figurines daily...

conkertree · 12/01/2009 16:50

do you know all this talk today is making me wish dh was home tonight - think he will ring you all to thank you for getting me more in the mood than i sometimes have been recently. shame he isn't home till tomorrow. mind you i do have my little friend (that embarrassingly ds found recently - am very glad he's only 1 and thinks its a toy - mental note for future - hide things better).

about amby hammocks - does anyone know whether they are recommended for sleeping in or not cause some places seem to say they are not recommended by SIDS people and some say they are - would have thought they cant be bad for babies or you would hear people recommending you not to use them more. the rocking to sleep while still in bed does sound like bliss.

BabyBolat · 12/01/2009 16:54

I WANT AN AMBY BED - Actually I want the moffi hammock because I am consumer driven and think it looks nicer (it is also £50 more expensive Although not sure it will fit in our loft conversion but worth a try...

I have just started getting really bad back pain like in the back of my hip - feels like my joints are rubbing together - any ideas before I start googling and scare myself with what it might be!!

Hi All,

I haven't been on MN since xmas eve and I am ashamed to say that I have spent all day catching up. I have been off work for 3 weeks and due to go back tomorrow which I am not looking forward to, but only 8 more weeks until maternity leave!!!!!!

I have loved ready all youir stories. I also feel really fat and am scared to weigh myself as at xmas I had put on 2 stone so far

Sorry to those of you that are experiencing problems with MILs mine is just as bad, she hasnt asked me how I am doing for 11 weeks now, I dont think she cares tbh.

Loved the fat lady train story, what an absolute bitch, she needed telling. Public transport in London is a nightmare and I love watching how people who are sitting down start finding their feet very interesting when a pregnant person gets on.

Are you guys finding that people stare at you when you are pregnant....I feel like I have some disease written on my forehead, but my sister says to make the most of all the attention!!

Nutty - hope you are feeling better, all the different sorts of pains can be scary!! Like springy I would love to know what type of pain labour pain is??

Thanks for all the info about what to pack in your hospital bag, I am going to get going with it from now just in case bean decides to come early!!

Really excited as having nursery decorated this week and cant wait to see what it will look like when its done.....I still cant believe I am having a baby!!

Barbarella - this is a really personal question so dont feel you need to anser it but did you conceive your triplets naturally?? You sound so relaxed about the whole experience and I think you are amazing for that. Your partners work buddies are idiots but I am afraid it not rare. DH is terrified about becoming a father but hiding it really well bless him. He still has managed to keep the sex of our baby a secret from me but I now think its a girl!!

Anyway, just though I would pop in and say hello. Hope you all have a good night.

Hopeful x

BabyBolat · 12/01/2009 17:00

Hi Hopeful1 - so glad you are back! Don't be ashamed, I think you have done amazingly well to take just a day to catch up!!!

How come you think it's a girl - has DH given you any hints? I can't believe he hasn't cracked already!

OP posts:
BoffinMum · 12/01/2009 17:01

Oh dear, BB, hope it isn't spd. Get your feet up immediately and rest, which may ward it off if it is. Do not do what I did and go Trick or Treating for 90 minutes in the cold!! (Hindsight is, as they say, the greatest gift).

BabyBolat · 12/01/2009 17:08

Is that how it starts?? had it a bit yesterday but not as bad as today (but think carpeting stairs and decorating may not have been a good idea!) Feels like grating pain rather than stabbing but hurts like hell!!

90 minutes trick or treating - isn't that what DH's are for?????

OP posts:
BoffinMum · 12/01/2009 17:12

RESTRESTREST!!!!
DH was working on his law essay because he had been too lazy to get up and do it earlier in the day. I am saying nothing.

Bleuravin · 12/01/2009 17:13

Yes put your feet up BB and relax for a bit. Hopefully it's not SPD though there are some yoga excercises, I've been told, which can help if it's not too bad of a case.

BoffinMum · 12/01/2009 17:16

Pilates and core stability is the bread and butter treatment. You need to be taught how to do them, so maybe it's time to find a class?
