MOS good luck travelling! And we'll hear from you when you're back?

Had a nice lie in this morning while DH got up with the girls. Still feel knackered though.

I seem to be shifting piles of opened presents around the house, none of the rooms seem to be getting any tidier...

theHoHoHouseofmirth · 28/12/2008 10:41

Morning everyone! MoS can I come with you? I could do with some sunshine!

We're off to the blooming panto in Wimbledon today. My idea of sheer hell! We've go a box. I may take a book with me...

MS all our presents are piled up under the enormous Christmas tree. Somehow they don't look so conspicuous there.

mumoverseas · 28/12/2008 11:34

almost packed! just got to spring clean the house now as we are doing a house swop at Easter which will be before we are back so need to get it all 100% now. We are swopping with a family in Malaysia who have their relatives near our Crawley home so hopefully it will be a much cheaper holiday than if we were booking hotel rooms for us and all the kids.
I will keep checking in when I can subject to the SFF (Saudi fuck factor which renders the internet providers and phones useless for most of the week) and would love to attend a meet up if there are any in the summer when I'm back as I'll definitely be back from mid June til end of August, maybe longer. Do you think we'll all still keep chatting once our little babies have arrived? Will be be a 'born February post natal thread'?
HoHoHo, of course you can come with me (oh no she can't,oh yes she can she is behind you!) sorry, my pathetic attempt at getting into the mood for the panto. Hope you enjoy it/your book or maybe take some noise reducing headphones and catch up on some sleep?

littleboyblue · 28/12/2008 12:17

Will any of us have time to chat post babies?
Just waiting for ds to go to sleep and then I'm gonna do some housework. Did plan on going back to bed but won't have the motivation later, so quick zoom round in a bit.

dinkystinkyclaus · 28/12/2008 14:31

Markstretch - my braxton hicks are more like that when its really cold for some reason (sometimes take my breath away). Now back home in London and definitely have that back to school feeling as back in the office tomorrow... ho hum, only 5 more weeks left at work I guess. We too have piles of xmas presents everywhere - cant be bothered to tidy them up....

MoS - have a safe journey back to KSA. Sounds like it is best all round for you and your family and will be ALOT warmer than over here . At least you've got your bacon craving sorted while you were over here.

Hohohom - best of luck for the panto. Maybe it'll be better than you think it will be?

Neeerly3 · 28/12/2008 16:35

hello all - hope we all had splendid xmas's and our DH/DP's and DC's spoilt us rotten - sorry haven't caught up on who got wot as snatching a few moments while DT's are transfixed by Nick Jr 2.

I think my DH is storing up brownie points for after the birth....got a Nintendo DS with Brain Training - apparently I NEED it (and in fact when i tested my brain age, I was 80, so I think he has a point). I got a day pass at the local spa, including a pregnancy massage (very excited about this) and a pair of bearpaw boots (cheap Uggs! but exactly wot I wanted as think Uggs are over priced!).

Boys got spoilt rotten and we are considering building an extention to house it all. Their fav pressie, chelsea kits and a dyson hoover!

No more excitement after the bleed, kept Dh at arms length, but think bump maybe engaging him/herself, as pressure on bladder is almost unbearable now, simply cannot find a good sitting position - but may invest in some tena lady FULL pants so I can go more than 5 mins between toilet visits!

Merry Xmas to you all and thanks for the early morning hand holding again!

MrsChristmasY · 28/12/2008 17:51

Hi all!

Glad you all had a good Christmas - I'm completely knackered, although I didn't do anything taxing except drive, as John has been told he can't drink much as of Jan 1st! Can't sleep at all though - have crappy insomnia and need to get up and pee every ten minutes (neerly, is that a sign of engagement?)

MOS good luck with the traveling, it's a shame you aren't staying in the UK but the setup in KSA does seem to make more sense... Who do you do your house swaps with?

Neerly Glad everything has settled down. I have a pair of beerpaws (shorter style in blue) and they are fab. Got them last year from TKMaxx and they have lasted really well. As they're blue I wear them all the time with my jeans! Am v. jealous of the pregnancy massage - can someone hint to John via facebook that that's what fathers-to-be should do for their wife/partner!!

lbb Of course we will - we'll all be sitting at the computer as we feed!

MS Glad you had a good birthday - winter walk on the beach sounds really lovely. I love being all cosy and snuggly in the wind! and lucky you for the lie in!

What are we all up to tonight? John has friends round for a boys night, so my evening looks like cooking them a chili and then being banished to the bath. Won't complain, as I'd rather that than watch them playing 'Need for Spead', but wish I could take a bottle of white with me like I used to! Ho hum...

mumoverseas · 28/12/2008 19:37

hi all, just finished the packing and cleaning of the house and ready for an early night.
MrsY, the houseswop we are doing is the first one (hopefully of many) and it was on mumsnet. I was mooching one day and found the houseswop thread and the one offering to swop the malaysia house. It sounds perfect, they are english, live in KL and want to visit family near here for 3 weeks. We are therefore staying in there house in KL which isn't too far from Saudi and they get to stay in our house in the UK (doubt anyone would want to stay in our Saudi one!) I have been a little anxious about it but I'm sure it will be fine and the woman we are swopping with sounds nice. We are lucky that we have really good neighbours here so hopefully they'll keep an eye on things. Hopefully I'll feel up to travelling within 6 weeks or so of baby being born and hopefully will have his passport and visa in time!
Why not have a spritzer Mrs Y, to make the wine go further, lovely in the bath.

littleboyblue · 28/12/2008 20:49

Neerly3 Glad everyting is ok now. Know about the frequent trips to the loo, I also can't sit comfy either and getting up and down off the floor is wful, have to crawl to the sofa tro heave myself up!

MrsCY Nothing happening here tonight, dp is working nights again now, so sat infront of CSI and am a bit bored. I made Jelly earlier so am about to eat all of it, that's if it went right, I follow instructions on pack but it's always really watery, I must be the only person in the world that can't manage to make jelly

mos well done for getting everything done today, enjoy your early night, I'm going soon too, I have no chocolate in the house, no crisps or anything either.

turkeyandherbstuffinggarden · 28/12/2008 21:12

Evenin' all.....
mos glad you've made your decision - sounds like the right one. I think you need all the help you can get and why look a gifthorse in the mouth so to speak. If you've got help why not use it. One of my best friends is just moving to KL with her 3 kids with her dh's job for a few years and sounds like she has masses of help -not quite sure what she's going to do with herself.

dinky - hope work isn't too bad tomorrow. Sorry to make you feel worse but I am sooooo relieved I'm now off although I have a long list of "to do" jobs for tomorrow (let's see how many we get done eh!).

We've just got back from sil's house (dh's sister) where we went for lovely roast dinner and to see dh's grandma (86) - ds was fully entertained by everyone and at one point was dancing around my sil's piano as she was playing well known nursery rhymes to him (she's a music therapist so she just sits down and off she goes - always amazes me) - I think he's gone bonkers over xmas - he seems to have so much energy. I'm just hoping he might settle down once we get back into the routine of day to day (non-christmas holiday) life.

Anyway - as per usual at this time of the evening, am v.uncomfortable I seem to have a stitch on one side of my bump and a limb or a bottom sticking out the other..... Sitting up right in the chair after dinner is not helping - I just have to lie down on one side on the sofa.

Off to bed now to get an early night. Will catch up tomorrow !

turkeyandherbstuffinggarden · 28/12/2008 21:14

PS - am fed up with feeling desperate for the loo only to get there and have a very unsatisfying dribble......sorry TMI but I really didn't have this before !!! Baby feels like it's lying across but presumably this means that it might not ?

littleboyblue · 28/12/2008 21:34

Same here herb hardly anything comes out, so annoying!!

MrsChristmasY · 28/12/2008 21:57

Oh God, me too, herb - thought I had an UTI or something...

ImDreamingOfANortyXmas · 28/12/2008 21:59

I find the only way to properly empty my bladder atm is to lift my bump up and rock on the loo whilst having a wee......sorry if TMI everyone

MOS....hope journey back is smooth and quick

theHoHoHouseofmirth · 28/12/2008 21:59

I spend a lot of time wondering whether or not I actually need a wee. One minute I'm desperate, then he moves and suddenly I don't need to go at all!

Panto was not as bad as I expected. Joanna Page (Gavin & Stacey) was a bit wet and Gareh Gates's acting bit crap but all in all quite god & DS thought it was fab.

MIL goes home tomorrow after 11 days here. Will be nice to be just the three of us but it has been lovely having some help for a change.

littleboyblue · 28/12/2008 22:00

Hahahaha Norty Not tried that, but have noticed more comes out when I have to tilt in order to wipe.......

ImDreamingOfANortyXmas · 28/12/2008 22:03

I was the same during my last pg as well....I'm sleeping SO badly atm, the first half of the night with indigestion, and the second half getting up weeing all the time....hence the need to find ways to totally empty my bladder

littleboyblue · 28/12/2008 22:05

Speaking of sleepless nights, my friend gave me one of those long body pillow things. Really helped last night, kept my knees apart, rested nice under bump and managed to keep boobie out of my armpit

MrsChristmasY · 28/12/2008 22:29

lbb they're fab, aren't they? My sister gave me one and it was the only way to sleep on my side (am used to being on my front) - they do smaller ones for feeding, which I want to get... Is your's a bean bag-y one or a pillow-y one?

AlienSwampMonster · 28/12/2008 22:30

Where on earth did MarkStretch get to? Don't tell me she went and got a life for her 30th???

littleboyblue · 28/12/2008 22:40

It's a pillow-y one, but had to yake cover off and wash it as it had been in her ds's room and have already put my finger through it!
I had a feeding pillow with ds for those few days I tried bf.

AlienSwampMonster · 28/12/2008 23:08

I've had one of each and much prefer the bean-baggy one - so much so that I turned the pillowy one into a bean-baggy one too!

ranirani · 28/12/2008 23:39

thanks for the wee tip IDOANX, will try that. I have the same thing with going to wee, THHHOM, one minute I need to go, next one, baby moves and I am fine. sometimes I need to go back the second I left the loo

littleboyblue · 29/12/2008 07:46

I can see how the bean-bag one would be better tbh.

My poor ds, he has to wait so long for me to get him up now because when he stirs and moans, I wake but can't move my right leg for a while, have to do everything so slowly and once finally up have to drag that leg to his room Can't wait for this to be all over

KT1983 · 29/12/2008 08:14

Good Morning all,
Hope youve all had a lovely few days off for Crimbo - Its my first official day off work today. Im not sure what im going to do with myself. Ive been awake since 4am!!

I reckon considering we are moving house on Friday, that packing could be thebest option to keep myelf busy...

Ive got my 34week appt today with the GP. Hoping that when she measures my belly, its grown a bit. Last time i was 28cm @ 32weeks Ive been trying so hard to up the calories so litle miss gets all she can from me to grow her little tummy.

I was looking through my book this morning & apparently I need to have my birth plan written out? Did you all or do you all do a birthplan??

Im in two minds, I kinda just want to go with the flow - il take anything that i need for baby to be delivered safe & me to be as comfortable as possible.
