evening girls.. just about caught up now and have been at the mooing and choo choo stuff. who knows what i'll do.. with getting pre-eclampsia at 38.5 weeks last time, failed induction and emergency cs i didn't go through any labour at all. having a go at vbac this time but apparently will be hooked up to all manner of monitors always fancied a water birth and last time was supposed to be a home birth!
would love to be able to eat chocolate at mo but it's giving me hives.. and the itching drives me crazy!
great to have some newbies too waves hello
when pram hunting for ds in 2006 fell in love with bugaboo chameleon.. turns on the spot and light weight to push. we got a deal with maxi cosi car seat too. never felt need get a different pram and ds still loves it. all my friends without bugaboo have long since stopped using their big prams and bought McLaren xp's as they found them lighter. so any money they saved with big pram they've spent on xp's since..
relief about nikkie was worried when i read her post.

yeah me too. In fact something happened when I was in SA a few weeks ago. Was solo on top floor and one guy left on ground floor - he kept popping up to see if I was ready to leave. Anyway I heard someone walking down corridor and a door shutting but on one ever turned up, and the guy downstairs hadn't been up again since the last time. Turns out that lots of people hear this as a guy shot himself in the drawing office about 30 years ago and still wanders about. Didn't stay up there alone the next day!!!! Also saw a monk and a nun under a bridge near an old monastery near home one day too....weird hey!

llareggub · 16/01/2009 22:55

I'm a stationery freak aswell.

Hope you are all OK. I've been really tired these last couple of days and am struggling to see how I'll cope with DS and a baby!

frazzledoldbag · 16/01/2009 22:56

Bugaboooooooo, Bugaboooooooo
We love yooooooooooo

And that's all I have to say on the matter

Hello fi by the way.

detsy · 16/01/2009 22:57

Sorry fi crossed post

llareggub · 16/01/2009 22:59

Why did you post that website? I've been drooling over See Jane Work and it ISN"T FAIR they don't deliver here. I am going to speak nicely to my friends in the States, I think.

detsy · 16/01/2009 23:00

llaregub yup I know how you feel hun but frazzled can reassure us as she'll be onto her 3rd where as we will just be luxuriating with 2,

Paperchase...while away many hours in there - even LOttie likes it and she's only just over 1, hmm like mother like daughter

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 16/01/2009 23:00

Ooh, Detsy, I'm on your way to Frazzleds (mmmm Frazzles grumpy drools like dog), stop by for folding extravaganza, I can do washing, paper, envelope stuffing (squeals with excitement). I also stack washing carefully according to size/colour.

And you are welcome to rifle through my stationery/ary in varying colours, weights, etc. Inherited love from my dad.

Re the spooky stuff, when I was heavily pregnant and scared with DD1, I had a lovely dream about my (sadly deceased) maternal grandmother, after whom I'm named. In my dream, she sat on the end of my bed, soothing me about the impending birth. She died when I was 2, when I told my mum, she was delighted, she still talks to her mum regularly in her head. Bless.

frazzledoldbag · 16/01/2009 23:00

Sorry crossed post with llare - hello fellow paper and pen freak! Sorry to hear you're so tired - I find it comes and goes with me. Some weeks I'm totally fine, others I could die by 7pm. I blame the bean!
God detsy that's freaky. At least he didn't come visit you!

detsy · 16/01/2009 23:02

Ahh sorry llare - great stuff hey?! Some of the things you can buy direct from the manufacturers who do ship to UK - just more of a pain to have to shop about rather than one stop. Or perhaps I shouldn't have told you that....sorry

frazzledoldbag · 16/01/2009 23:06

Oh Grumpy I must just tell you about my upstairs utility room ( to lure you northwards more quickly). It has long shelves with STICKERS ON to determine where different sizes of sheets and towels etc. must go. And at the moment it's NOT VERY TIDY and CRYING OUT FOR ATTENTION.
Nuff said
See you soon (leaves back door key under plant pot in anticipation)

detsy · 16/01/2009 23:08

No thank God he didn't pop in to my office as far as I know!

Seems like we have a little gaggle of stationeryettes in here - maybe its a girl thing? Tho most of my friends think I'm bonkers. Fortunately my DP is the same - in fact he came home with 2 very nice Paperchase notebooks this evening (for himself, sadly) I like boxes and tins as well... and hearts on strings (tin ones, slate ones, material ones, wooden ones, wire ones...) Maybe I need some help

llareggub · 16/01/2009 23:09

Maybe I should pass the website over to DH, who runs a printing company. He can use it for blatant plagarism inspiration perhaps! All for me...he doesn't sell stationery!

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 16/01/2009 23:10

Grumpy hyperventilates

detsy · 16/01/2009 23:12

A bloody upstairs utility room????
Posh cow

I have tags on my wooden shelves in the airing cupboard for the same thing but nowhere near enough room. Have you seen that Anthea Turner programme - she has a fab linen cupboard grumpy and gives instructions on how to fold sheets and towels so they don't unravel or look untidy when stacked...lol

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 16/01/2009 23:13

Detsy

Me and the DD's like the various tins you can get in Paperchase, we have lots and lots.

Also, my wedding invitations were postcards of cats & dogs wearing tiaras, tutus, cowboy hats etc from Paperchase. Sad, I know, but I have deep love of kitsch.

llareggub · 16/01/2009 23:14

I have indeed adopted Anthea's method of folding...sad I know!

frazzledoldbag · 16/01/2009 23:16

OOh yes, boxes and tins (smiles wistfully)
And filofaxy type things (I've got a recipe one and a party planning/organising one from paperchase) - delicious. With snappy ring binder bits and built-in ruler (love that).

FiKelly · 16/01/2009 23:18

with me it's sketch books and nice pencils for drawing and designing love my hard back note books from waterstones with the magnetic catch to keep it shut.. use those for my pattern writing

OP posts:
detsy · 16/01/2009 23:20

ohh yeah and little pockets and concertina bits for all the bits and pieces as well. I have ones for receipts as well! Filofax yes to that too - can't do electronic diaries at all - keep missing appointments when I try.

frazzledoldbag · 16/01/2009 23:20

Oh well, I'm not poshe really. We just had the chance to design bits into our house and I'd always wanted one. Plus am a lazy mare so love being able to take off my clothes, put straight into w/machine/ then t/dry/ then iron/ then back in the wardrobe without having to go up or downstairs.

God, actually I do sound really idle.
Am not, honest

I didn't know there was a proper METHOD of folding and stacking
Although I did know someone who had all green towels in the house and had them stacked in the cupboard in order of colour fadedness. Which I thought impressive.

FiKelly · 16/01/2009 23:22

on my phone at mo and it's so slow! came to bed for an earlier night but lo woke up and has been doing vigorous gymnastics for last hour.. ouch that has to be a foot!

OP posts:
detsy · 16/01/2009 23:22

Sleep tight all x

frazzledoldbag · 16/01/2009 23:24

Yes off to bed too. Night night. Thanks for the chat . Nice to catch up x

detsy · 16/01/2009 23:24

Frazz i'm just oh so jealous. Think th e towel thing is OCD!!! They wouldn't like it here with the towel jumble on the floor, on the bed (grrr...)
