we're just sitting home tonight. I've been quite moody this pregnancy and need to calm down. Think I'll have a small glass of bubbly as well to put me in a festive mood .

We went for our BIG scan today. Good news is that all is well and dates are accurate enough to stick with 7th May. We did ask if the sex of Baby Bump could be seen, but unfortunately he/she was lying breech and its bits couldn't be seen!! So we're having a suprise! DS was more interested in his lego magazine than in seeing his baby brother/sister on TV!! Anyway, I did kinda want a surprise anyway and DH is ok with it too! So we'll now have to make a list of girls and boys names!
I hope Bump turns round before delivery day as I do not want to have a CS because it's breech. What do I need to do?? Stand on my head!!? Any one else ever been in a situ like this - presenting breech at 22 weeks - did you successfully turn round head first?

divedaisy, both of my babies were breech when I saw them on the scan on Tuesday at 20+5 but the sonographer said not to read anything into it at this stage; that they will move around loads yet, so it's more than likely that your bump will turn around. The answer to your question I think is to sit with your knees lower than your hips whenever you can e.g. on a ball or sit backwards on a dining type chair IYSWIM. You can also spend some time on all fours - our grandmothers used to say that you should scrub the kitchen floor in the last few weeks to help the baby turn!

Divedaisy, my dd was breech, but undiagnosed....only discovered when her foot popped out at 10cm dilated. I think most do turn on their own, but have you got a bouncing birthing ball. I have heard that scrubbing floors helps too

Llare might need you for advice soon. I have a glucose test at the end of Jan due to strong family history of diabetes. Also, the baby was on 95th percentile wich made evereyone comment and talk again about GTT (my dates are accurate) but nothing strange in urine. I don't really want to read anything in to it - I think it's early days, and dh is v tall too.

Anyway, I hope 2009 brings us everything we want .

Reggiee, don't worry about the GTT. It is better that they pick up the GD if you have it, and sadly, a lack of anything in your urine isn't necessarily an indicator that you don't have it. Last time I was at the clinic I didn't have any glucose in my urine either, although they have detected protein which could mean pre-eclampsia (eek) or a water infection. I'm hoping for the latter.

Dealing with GD isn't the problem I though it would be and I am being looked after very well by my hospital. Like you, DS was big for his gestation, 37 weeks, so they suspect I had it last time. I inject myself with insulin 3 times a day, which isn't too bad at all. It sounds a lot worse than it is, really. I also have to test my blood sugar to keep it controlled within certain limits. I have completely cut out sugar and as a result, have lost weight this pregnancy.

I am getting monitored quite a bit, and see 2 consultants every fortnight. I also have to ring a specialist nurse every other day and have a specialist midwife to call on. So if anything, although I felt pretty stressed out by it in the beginning, I feel I am in very good hands. I will be having a c-section at 38 weeks (27 April!) but that is because of my high blood pressure, GD and previous c-section so a particular set of circumstances. It won't necessarily be the case for you, I suspect.

We had 4 friends round last night for dinner (each couple made a course) and some wii playing afterwards and didnt get to bed til 1.45. DS woke at 5.50 but i managed (somehow) to doze on and off til 9.10 so dont feel too tired.

Divedaisy- I wouldn't worry about breech at this stage- plenty of room for them to keep turning. My DS was breech at around 34 weeks but he had one big session of moving around (not the most comfortable thing) and turned himself (although i didn't mind as i was booked for a CS anyway). A friend had her baby turned late on in pg and it worked fine.

I am hoping we can see baby's gender next Tues- if not, i think i will pay the £50 to get a private sexing scan. Both DD and I are desperate to know. I did look at baby clothes in the sale and thought i could always get boy and girl clothes and take some back once i know, but it didn't have the same excitement factor really until the anomoly scan is done and we hopefully know everything looks OK.

hello ladies, firstly happy new year!
and secondly srry fr worring you for not posting back after my incident the other week. All seems fine midwife heard hb and have a scan on 12th. Have kept dd at wide bearth when she is having a tantrum- has helped that dh has been off work since 23rd so have been able to get some rest!

Have an appointment for pyshio (sp) as have very painful pelvis so hopefully will get that sorted too.

Hope everyone had a fab xmas and sorry again I got so wrapped up with what had happened and then xmas I forgot I had worried people along the way.

Is anyone else little one moving loads and loads, mine hasn't stopped!

We've had a lazy morning
Have persauded ILs to go to pub for a meal later so that resolves meal issues for today! We're meeting my parents there too so hopefully everyone will have a good time.

I had a really hormonal day yesterday in an emotional way. Like magnified PMT. I suppose I should be grateful it's not happened more! Much better today

Been feeling movements a lot more in the last 24 hours too!!

Afternoon- feel a bit numb at the moment as an old school friend of my DH who we see every now and again was one of the brits injured in the Bangkok nightclub fire. Some friends of ours are very close friends with him so are very upset, and his brother is flying out. I'm sure he must be badly burned as well as having a collapsed lung. Hard to believe really.

Thanks Dandylioness. Latest update from a friend is that he might not be too badly burned as his injuries were more due to smoke inhalation, so fingers crossed he will make a good recovery (physically anyway).

Pulapula how terrible. I've only just read the full story. I hope really hope your friend makes a full recovery.

Hello everyone. I hope it's OK to join this thread. I'm due on 1st May and have 2 DCs already (I must be mad...) DD1 (4.6) and DD2 (2.5). Finding this pregnancy much more hard work with 2 monsters on my hands... !

Welcome Tummum- you are not the only mad one on here having a third. I have a DD (4) and DS (18mo) so just as mad as you!

I am finding it hard work too, although this last week I find i have had the opportunity to nap during the day as DH has also been off work, so not as tired as i would normally be!

Welcome Tummum I am amazed at how those of you already with DC cope so well.

Anyone else can't stop thinking about food? I'm trying not to eat too much but it's hard (she says, with a Magnum white chocolate ice cream in hand )

Meanwhile, I feel much better, although I still cough a bit. DD flared up a fever on Christmas Eve and has been ill for quite a while. Now her fever is gone, but DH is ill since last night He has been sleeping all day (I kid you not) with a 30 min interval where he had some fruit and a Lemsip.
