RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 22/12/2008 14:24

Hi NAT - snap here; fell asleep in front of telly and now will have to rush to get to the shops...I think our bodies have got other plans for us! I know it is hard to think of, but this must surely be the last push for you and it really will be all better in a few weeks. Is there no way you could get an dr's appointment between now and xmas? What about NHS direct? They will send someone round to do an assessment if you say you aren't well enough to get out of the door - might be worth a try? What have you got to lose? (but your pain??)

Right, I must go and get that bus. Tis my final chance as am waiting in tomorrow for parcels, then have show at Lowry with the dds on xmas eve.

Diege, I couldn't get a doctors appt. till tomorrow now, but I have the trace tomorrow morning so hoping the cons. will sort me out some AB's. I am in serious pain, poor kids are now upstairs making DH a xmas card, I've done nothing but dump them in different places today, town is out of the window, we have Tesco tonight, and we do need to go because if whatever I've got now is going to get worse it's best to get it over with and out of the way, if we don't then we'll have no fresh food for xmas. I have a high temp. they admit you when pregnant if it's over 38, which although I haven't done the thermometre I know it is because it feels just as bad as last time. My ears feel like they are about to explode. My teeth are really hurting. My eyes are really hurting. Oh bloody hell, I've had enough, and I am sure you lot have as well Sorry.

Am going to go rescue the kids and veg on the sofa till DH is home.

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 22/12/2008 17:35

Nat I'd say you need to be admitted my love . At least until they have got your temps - the aching eyes/teeth thing does not sound good (that's how mine started, and while I'm sure it's not what I had it may be a flu-type thing which is bad enough.

Good luck with your scan tomorrow TINKS! Yes, I think they would wait till 39 weeks for c-section but then I am no expert and they may want to do it earlier.
Back from shopping and totally shattered. Have 99% of things, though still need something for dds to give dh...or I could just ignore it and forget about it!! .

Right, dds are on way back - speak tomorrow

2beautifulgalsandasnowglobe · 22/12/2008 17:43

NJ- i do hope you are resting and DH looks after you when he gets home. You really have had a rough ride this pregnancy. Hope the cons can give you something tomorrow and you still get you induction as planned.

Tink- hope scan goes ok tomorrow and you get the result you want. Sory unsure of when they would do c/s. They may just want to scan again next week?

Hi diege- good to see you back, sorry you have been so poorly, you were missed

Glask- sounds like DS had a great birthday, hope you had a good day today.

Kay- way to go with the weight gain, he is doing really well. I sympathise with you on the lazy DH front. Mine rarely ever gets up with the kids and has to be called numerous times to get his butt out of bed! What is it with men and sleep

Hello everyone else Sorry if i have missed anything/one important news.

I'm feeling good but tired, 19 weeks tomorrow and looking forward to scan in 2 weeks. Still determined that i don't want to know the sex. Kicks getting lot stronger and actually got DH to feel one last night. Just bought a bag full of nice maternity clothes from someone from netmums, she has delivered them today, can't wait to get into them.
So our cases are packed and i'm can hardly stop myself from telling the girls! We are leaving early Wednesday morning train station down the road so will be catching the train to airport for flight at 11.30am.
Ses you have my mobile number if anything happens please let me know
Hoping to get on tomorrow, but if i don't i hope you all have a great uneventful xmas.

kayzr · 22/12/2008 18:07

Nat, I hope you are ok. I hope you still get induced on Boxing Day and not before.

2BG, Have a lovely time and take pictures of the girls faces when you tell them. It will be priceless!!!

sorkycake · 22/12/2008 18:20

Been to hospital baby well, measurements are all good, doppler scan good, estimation of b/weight only at 10th centile, so she's not very fat! Should change by birth though I would imagine. HWB still on thank god.

The problem lies in that she isn't lying centrally, but to the right, so when I'm being measured (fundal height) they aren't measuring the highest point.
I'm still 2cm behind when measured correctly, but that's still within acceptable range and Consultant says she's just likely to be petite.

Watch, she'll come out bigger than Kayz boy just to prove them wrong won't she?

Sooo relieved, I can't say how much tbh.

Hope everyone is well, I will be having a bit of an MN break for a wee while, but will lurk of course for birth news.

Good luck everyone!

tinkisabigpinksparklybauble · 22/12/2008 18:40

cheers diege and 2bgs

this scan will be my 5th one

great news sorky

SesHasnearlyreachedhalfway · 22/12/2008 22:41

Managed to visit 6 stores in the end, then went to Tesco. Came home and made Jamie Oliver chocolate tart for Christmas get together with friends tomorrow evening.

DH has now gone to bed so I'm going to wrap his presents up now before joining him!

Sorky - great news

NJ - sorry to hear you're feeling so awful. Hope things improve and that things go well at the hospital tomorrow.

Diege - glad to hear you're on the mend. Don't do too much too soon...

2BG - don't worry, I'll text you any major developments or births!

Tink - fingers crossed for tomorrow!

Busy day for me again tomorrow. Plan to visit 8 stores and then out in the evening!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 23/12/2008 09:00

Morning All

Tink- good luck with the scan today. Will be thinking of you

Nat- hope you are feeling ok and hanging in there....

Great news Sorky, glad everything is ok. - enjoy your break and pop in from time to time

Ses- choc tart sounds yum, hope you got those pressies wrapped up in private! Good luck with store visits

Diege- how are you feeling now?

LBOT- hows things with you, feeling nice and sick I hope

Gruff- are you about and lurking?

Enjoy your break 2BG, Hi Glask, Cosmo!

Having 28wk MW appt today.. taking blood and giving me the RH jab...

Cup of tea anyone?

kayzr · 23/12/2008 09:20

Morning,

I'd love a cup of tea please!!

I actually think I will kill DH. He wants us to FF Dylan. He says I am tired(well duh!), depressed(I don't feel depressed) and grumpy. I feel like I have spent the last 11 days struggling to BF and arguing with MWs for no reason.
I do sometimes think he might be right, when its 4 in the morning and I've been feeding him for 2 hours. Last night he wouldn't settle so DH gave him some formula at 1 and he slept until 7 this morning. DH was in a 'I told you so' mood this morning. But we all know that might not happen tonight.

So feeling really pants here.
Hope everyone else is better.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 23/12/2008 10:05

Morning Kay!

Sounds like a really tough decision to make re moving to FF... suppose DH just wants to help you feel better. Sorry you are feeling pants though.

Im feeling really odd today got weird fluid retention issues that were sorted out by my osteopath last Friday and are coming back now. Barely been able to wee in past 12hrs.

Makes me feel so weird, heavy and breathless... hope its not a blood pressure issues... WIll ask MW later on.

GruffaloSoldier · 23/12/2008 10:16

Hello everyone!

Hi Gyo, I just came online, had a nice lie-in this morning and then a very civilised breakfast with my DH who finished work on Friday, I finished work yesterday although my DH actually came and helped me 14.30-17.30 . Now Im ready for Christmas-woo!!!!

Gyo are you on Facebook? Ive added the mumsnet group to my profile but cant for the life of me work out how to find people without going through over 1800+ people to find people I know anyone??

Kay sorry to hear that of your FF/BF struggle. You need to do whatever you are happy with. I guess your DH is just trying to think of you but he doesn't necessarily know what is best for you or baby IYSWIM. Just keep talking and Im sure you will both figure it out. Its still early days. And at least you know DS2 isn't suffering!

My biggest news (although I am saying this very tentatively) I am really starting to consider a home water birth . Well I have started to read up on it and stuff, or the domino birth where you can do most of labouring at home and then go in for the delivery.(not a domino pizza delivery ) LOL One of my concerns is that I we live in a flat. It is a good size, but still I am not sure how feasible this is. Any thoughts. It might be that given the sixe of the baby and the size of me that i might be advised against it but who knows. Im just thinking out loud I guess. Have already spoke to DH who has been very supportive.I'll be quiet now as this is quite a long me post!

GruffaloSoldier · 23/12/2008 10:18

x posts Gyo! sorry to hear of your fluid retention thingy, hope the MW can sort it out for you! Doesnt sound very fun at all! Could it me be UTI?

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 23/12/2008 10:29

OOh Hi Gruff

Your monrning sounds lovely...

Exciting about HWB thoughts... being in a flat shouldnt matter as apparently the pools can go anywhere... There is a thread for first time homebirthers somewhere... will find the link for you.

Also, I was given the name of a NCT woman who does HB talks... Will find that too... I need to go to the first one in january but Im really keen too . Not heard of the domino thing though, lol re dominos pizza

Im on FB...Not sure how you find people other than by email address. Ive just requested to join...

We could create a separate wagon group?? What do you think?

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 23/12/2008 10:32

That is, I've just requested to join the MN group.

THe thought about a Wagon group would be separate....

(sorry trying to work, MN and watch xmas cooking progs on TV at the same time )

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 23/12/2008 10:35

Morning! Sorry to hear you're feeling down KAYZ . I can totally understand where you're coming from - remember with dd1 everyone shouting 'formula'"!!! at me, midwives included, as dd was feeding every half hour day and night. I did persevere and fed her myself till 6 months or so, but with dds 2&3 I threw in the towel and quite happily planned formula feeding from day one. Totally for conveneience reasons I'll admit, and a decision I was happy with. I think that's the key - forget about for/against bf stuff, and think about how you would feel if you changed to formula - would you get depressed becuase you changed over, or would you feel relieved? Do you have a bf councillor to talk things over with? I know it's not popular over here, but a friend in Denmark swears by mixed feeding (formula last thing and through night if necessary) bf during the day, expressing first and last thing to keep supply up. It's really popular over there, and I think I'll be trying it this time round.
GYO, hope you can get your fluid issues sorted - sounds horrendous
GRUFF like the idea of the domino delivery thing - how long would yoou leave it before going in? I think our place is domino by default as they don't like you clogging up the ward until you're ready to push Bet you won't feel like getting out of your home pool - why not go the full hog and have a home birth?
SES, don't work too hard today! How long until you're back at work after xmas? Think I'm back in on the 5th - will be strange after 10 weeks away!
Not too bad here. Still very tired and nauseaus etc, but difficult to know what's post-illness and what's pregnancy. Staying in today for parcels - glad I got last bits done yesterday, although I have annoyingly run out of paper for last present .
Speak later xxx

GruffaloSoldier · 23/12/2008 10:45

My DH's present was just delivered I was getting a bit worried as ordered it on the 6th! That was cutting it a bit fine!

Gyo- def should start a wagon group on FB - shall I get onto it? We can be the admin people

Gyo/Diege Domino is where you are sent a mw to your home to labour at home and then mw takes you in when you are ready. Then your mw goes home again with you about 6 hours after birth and settles you and baby in at home. I think thats right.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 23/12/2008 10:48

Ooh yes, go for it... then we can all join and work out who is who!

Domino sounds great actually, best of both worlds.... the bit I like about HB is having 1-2-1 with a MW... so sounds similar...

Phew about your DHs gift arriving... hate waiting for things in the post!
