Cosmogirl · 15/12/2008 13:55

No worries . Wow, the sixth will fly round...my date still seems a long way off - booo!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 15/12/2008 13:58

I keep thinking of all the things I will do once off on leave... I just hope that baby doesnt come early or Im not unable to move with SPD!

LaSparklyTourEiffel · 15/12/2008 14:35

I will gloat when I'm heading off on maternity leave as you're all going back to work

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/12/2008 14:42

LaTour, I can't offer you maternity leave, but I do have some very lovely heartburn you are more than welcome to if you want it? It comes with rennies at the ready and not a lot else, but how could you refuse?! It won't be long chick, the wheels are deffo starting to turn for you When's your appt.?

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 15/12/2008 14:50

Can also offer heartburn! But as Nat says it will be your turn soon....

I'm looking forward to the 10mths (at full pay- ) but actually think I will look fwd to going back too...bit of normality is good

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 15/12/2008 14:51

Im probably completely deluded about going back to work, but I like to think positive!

sorkycake · 15/12/2008 15:13

Oh god don't say that I'm due on the 10th feb, it's really a very long time away. No really it is.....

Cosmogirl · 15/12/2008 15:20

Sorky - lol

GYo - 10 months at full pay?! Where do you work? Can I come and work there please?....

Still managing to avoid the heartburn and no piles - yey! Sickness/nausea is sucky enough to make up for those symptoms though.

sorkycake · 15/12/2008 15:25

FGS I have just cried for absolutely no reason at all. I'm not upset over anything.

The LO is looking at me as if I'm clinically insane...oh and offered me his toy car to play with.

I wonder if it's something to do with carrying girls, I can remember being like this with Dd1.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 15/12/2008 15:30

You`ve definately had your fair share of symptoms Cosmo. You thoroughly deserve a pleasurable birth after all that sickness..

Its actually 9 months paid but I have 5wks holiday to use first so wont go back til just before xmas next year....talking to people recently I`ve realised how good this is and certainly dont take it for granted...its a real perk....

Its very male dominated company (mgt consultancy) and they want to get women to come back to work- hence the incentives... Downside is that working for this company means they want my blood, body and soul most of the time... 60hr weeks are quite normal... although Im getting away with less at the moment, phew...

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 15/12/2008 15:32

There must be difference carrying boys and girls....or maybe just chocolate deprivation.....

kayzr · 15/12/2008 15:33

Hello!!!

Sorky, that corset is a god send!!! I got one with DS1, I'm going to dig it out and use it again. Might leave it a few days though.

DS1 is not taking to DS2, he thinks its great fun to hit him and then run away laughing. Its quite depressing but I am hoping he will stop it soon.

Does anyone know if you can do too much too soon? I went for a walk today and I think I have pulled a muscle in my side. It bloody hurts.

Hope you are all ok.

lastboxoftampons · 15/12/2008 15:47

Kay You should definitely take it easy! I'm obviously no expert (as evidenced by my cringing at corsets and mat pads!) but it just seems like sense for you to not attempt too much. You've just given life to a person!!!! You deserve a lie-in!

GYO Impressive maternity package! But, yikes!, 60 hour weeks!!!

sorky poor you but what a lovely DS! Can definitely relate to the weepiness. Almost cried about something this morning, don't remember what though! Unfortunately I think DH's level of sympathy is beginning to wane a bit

lastboxoftampons · 15/12/2008 15:48
LaSparklyTourEiffel · 15/12/2008 15:49

Kay, I'm no doctor but I'd suggest that its definatley possible to do too much too soon, your body is still going to be readjusting to not having a baby inside....feet up girl!!! You should be doing lots of baby bonding

Sorry DS1 hasn't taken to DS2 so well, it will come I'm sure, he probably just needs some reassurance of his place in your affections.

I'm good - although tummy is a bit sore - NJ, my appt is at 5.30 so am killing time till then really. In fact, off to catch up on an episode of Survivors that DH watched without me

Hope you didn't think I was whinging about the maternity leave - t'was meant in jest...I know pregnancy isn't going to be easy, it certainly wasn't first time round! There's many parts I'm not looking forward to, but promise I'm going to try really hard not to moan when my time does come round

I'm not enjoying work a whole lot at the moment either, so was hoping to not have to go !

Right, off in search of food as two choc digestives really isn't cutting it...(as in that's all I've had so far today)...

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 15/12/2008 15:54

Hey LBOT... reckon you have the right to lots of spare tokens for weepiness whilst in the 12 week wait... (think this should be official terminology...) and waitinf for the the re-assurance scan...cant imagine the worry... but brownies definately help with such things...

What time is your appt tomorrow?

Im really lucky at the moment re work/ hrs and not doing client work so I can do less hours and also a lot from home... not sure I'd cope otherwise...

Hi Kay! Sorry to hear DS1 is being funny with DS2... am sure its a lot for him to get used to.. fingers cross he starts to enjoy it soon! I'd echo LBOT, defintely take it easy you only pushed out a very large baby (ON MANUAL!) less than 2 days a go

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 15/12/2008 16:00

Good luck with your appt LaTour...

OOh, didnt think you were whinging about maternity leave.. I only said that as im convincing myself going back to work will be easy when it will probably be quite hard... I know I will want adult company but the stress....? - who needs that !

Fingers crossed you will have a nice easy pregnancy and be all relaxed when it comes to mat leave

sorkycake · 15/12/2008 16:07

ta muchos!

It's such a flippin' rollercoaster isn't it?

Kay go for walks wearing the corset, will keep everything held together. Prolly your uterus contracting down. Have you had any after pains yet and is the feeding improving?

I can't quite believe one of us has had a baby!!

I think I stayed in for the first 3 days, I can't quite remember....well anything atm.
Do you think that's mother natures way of not allowing us to panic prior to the birth, make us forget everything just in case?

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 15/12/2008 16:15

Afternoon all- i have my nice new comfy sofa's- over the moon with them!! They are so lovely and posh compared to any other sofa we've owned!!

DH wants a curry toniht so we're having an indian once the kids are in bed!!

Kay- definatley is possible to do too much too soon, with DS i was out 2 days later (23rd dec) doing my last minute xmas shopping!! i suffered badly for it the week later!! But with DD i was out 2 days later becasue we were having double glazing fitted and it was so cold sitting in the dining room with half the houses windows missing!! I was fine with her though, but saying that she was only a little 7lb'er and i'd felt i could have ran a marathon 5hrs after giving birth!!- different births different effects on your body!! A small gentle walk would be good for you with fresh air and a break from the same 4 walls, but by small i maen flat surface's and round the block sort of distance!!

Also hope your DS calms down soon, we were lucky that DS was in awe of DD when she arrived, We never had any rejection of any sort with him, but we're still expecting some this time as they are older and able to understand more.

OP posts:
GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 15/12/2008 16:16

Think if we didnt forget no one would have more than one baby! Hopeing I will forget the woes of being pregnant, as right now nothing would encourage me to do this again!

Love having a bump but all the bits that go with it....

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 15/12/2008 16:28

Huh, Kay, I sent you a text woman fancy managing to MN but not text me back!! DS1 will settle down, he is still young and not able to understand a fraction of what's just turned his life upside down, give him time and lots of attention, I know it is really hard but it is the only way forward. Luckily with it being xmas everyone and thing will be aimed towards him anyway so that will help the situation as well. It doesn't take them long to settle into it, and before long you're be sat watching them playing together, then fighting, then playing again! T'is the fun of having more than one! Do we get any pics yet? And yes, you should most deffo still be taking it easy, a little walk is fine, but nothing too OTT, just enough for some fresh air.

Have just got the tree out, put it together and shreaded my hands and arms pulling the fake farking branches apart, found all the decs, thought this is going too well, the sodding lights are all tangled and one set not working, have binned them! Going shopping tonight so will get some more but it means we can't decorate the tree till tomorrow, cue DS1 in melt down, DS2 hanging off a bare tree, and me eating the chocolates that are supposed to be on the tree..... I wouldn't mind doing that normally but they are cadbury chocs, bloody yuck! Still eating them though

Am not moaning though.... oh nooooo not I..... actually DS2 is fasinated with a singing dancing light up xmas teddy thingymebob, he is giggling like mad at it Nothing nicer than them having a good old belly laugh!
