I have to say i remember all the gorry bits of afterwards very vividly- does that make me stupid for going ahead and doing it all again???

but the bit i did forget was just how bad my sickness was with DS..... actually i think what i did was just hope that i had a perfect pregnancy like i did with DD!! not once was i sick with her!!

sorkycake · 15/12/2008 16:29

yeah! I like a bump until about 28 weeks, after that I feel like heiffer.

Glad you like your sofa's Glask, I wouldn't let my Dh anywhere near them with a curry!

Glask was it a hassle to ebay all your clothes 'cos I'm thinking it is atm?
Dh has banged on about selling them (apparently he'll help, yeah right!), but it just seems like a huge pain in the arse to me. Wash them, list them, wait for payment, pack everything up and send off

I might just take them to the Charity shop, unless anyone on 'ere wants them. Is there a section on MN for giving stuff away, not the classifieds bit?

lastboxoftampons · 15/12/2008 16:30

Good luck with your appointment Latour!

GYO LOL at the 12-week wait! Good name for it! When you're in the thick of it you just can't wait for those two weeks to be over, you have no idea that an even longer wait is lurking around the BFP corner! We don't have an appointment tomorrow, just going to get to the EPU around 8:30. Opens at 9am, unfortunately they only do walk-ins for reassurance scans

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 15/12/2008 16:38

I find it theraputic to list them Sorky.... if you want to look at how i list my bundles my previous feedbacks are all my bundles

I tend to just take pics of the best bits, stick them on a wash and a dry but never iron them (lazy mare that i am) as i take them outta the dryer when still hot so they are all normally fine on the ironing front... pack them into a box and its done...

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 15/12/2008 16:38

Im quite shocked that they make women needing reassurance scans wait like that! As if its not stressful enough. Hopefully you can been seen early if you arrive early.

Dont forget to come and let us know how it goes...

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 15/12/2008 16:39

what size clothing is it your selling sorky? boys or girls?

OP posts:
sorkycake · 15/12/2008 16:41

LOL, your pants looked very neat

I might just list one bundle then, keep it to Next, which it mainly is anyway and see how it goes. If it's a hassle I'll chuck 'em.

sorkycake · 15/12/2008 16:44

boys - newborn to 2years

girls - newborn to 5years

in varying amounts.

The bags are large binbag sized and there's 6 of them to be rid of EEK!

Plus shoes, bedding, tomy sling etc.

lastboxoftampons · 15/12/2008 16:45

Yeah, GYO. I guess it's because they're dealing with such a large area (it's Kings in South London) and they've got so many people with appointments to see that they just squeeze in everyone else around them. I HATE the waiting, but to be honest, the fact that they've agreed to scan me at all is a perk, I think. And I know there's no way of telling who's there for what, I rather a woman who has had spotting and really NEEDS "reassurance" to go before me. Anyway, fingers crossed for a nice strong heart beat!

Did I tell you all that I got my 12 week scan date in the mail? It's 22 Jan, which is 13+3 Total crap! They're lucky Christmas is between the reassurance scan and that one, otherwise I might just not be able to wait!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 15/12/2008 16:50

Good to have a date but shame its not til 13wks.. though dont think that matters from a medical perspective...but definately good that you've got a scan between now and then and Christmas as a distraction...

Reckon 22nd Jan will come around VERY fast... once xmas is over...

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 15/12/2008 16:50

i'd be interested in some of the girls if you had time to get any sort of list etc... I have girls 18-24mth and a couple of 12-18 bits... DD is just going into 2-3 and DD will need up to 12-18mth bits.... email me at [email protected] if you want...

Sorky, The after pains are awful. I am in agony whenever he feeds. I swear it was nothing like this with DS1.

Feeding is going alot better but still not as well as it could be. He is feeding now though. The MW showed me how to feed him so both hands are free.

We were up from 1 this morning with a few half hour naps, so we're hoping for a better night.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 15/12/2008 16:51

Ouch Kay- can you take any painkillers for the afterpains when BFing?

Im sure I read someone saying they took some serious strong stuff... was it a Wagoner?

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 15/12/2008 16:56

Kay- the afterpains do get worse with each child IME.... thats one thing i did blank out forget about...

OP posts:
kayzr · 15/12/2008 16:56

Just paracetamol I think. I have some co-codeamol but I don't think I can take them.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 15/12/2008 16:58

i managed not to take anything... i only had the pains when feeding, and luckily mine only ever had 10-15 min feeds at the longest while newborn!!

OP posts:
glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 15/12/2008 17:01

just thought sorky... if you've got boys up to 2yo does that mean your smallest atm is DS? do you need any 2-3y at all? I have a bin bag full that i've just cleared out of DS's wardrobe... was thinking of ebaying, but was going to wait till after xmas i think...

OP posts:
glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 15/12/2008 17:02

oh also, some of my bundles went for what i felt was a good price, but the big bundle full of lovely almost new boys clothes in 1.5-2y went for what i felt was peanuts!! shame as it was all in perfect condition!!

OP posts:
glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 15/12/2008 17:05

sorry kay, i meant to say i understand how bad the pains are- BUT i managed becasue i was lucky havign small feeders.... sounds a bit patronising when i read it back and i didn't mean it like that!!

have DS running round the living room like a looney smothering my concentration!!! hence why i've posted so muany times in such a short time!!

OP posts:
sorkycake · 15/12/2008 17:07

The after-pains with no.3 were excrutiating I have to admit, they were quite painful with baby no.2, but manageable with some paracetamol to take the edge off, but no.3 I sobbed everytime I fed him, which was bloody constantly!
They lasted about 5 days for me.

Gin and I were just saying this on another thread (larger families), I'm genuinely really very, very scared of them after this birth. Poor Gin is onto no.7, I can't imagine what they'll be like for her.
I'm wondering if the pool, plus painkillers, will make them passable, given that the water is very effective with the contractions for me. Worth a shot I suppose.

Apparently, you can ask the GP to prescribe something stronger prior to the birth in preparation. Co-codamol is allowed I think Kay as is something caled Ponstan. Ses would be the best one to ask though.

You don't feel them for your first Gyo, don't worry, but they're supposed to worsen with subsequent births.

sorkycake · 15/12/2008 17:09

I'll sort them out properly and give you a shout Glask.

Kay, you could try taking the paracetamol about 15 minutes before he feeds, then feed him whilst in the bath, which is what I resorted to.

kayzr · 15/12/2008 17:11

I have to admit I cried through every feed last night. MW said because he is so big they'll be worse.

glaskhamhasoneintheoven · 15/12/2008 17:12

thats fine sorky... i have plenty of time... DD doesn't seem to be growing too fast!! but i looked at her wardrobe when i sorted it out and she barely has a thing in 2-3!! but then has about 10 outfits in 3-4y already!!

DS doesn't really have anything past 3-4 as he's only just going into them (though trousers need to be rolled up 2 inches still!!), and he's 4 on sunday!!

OP posts:
sorkycake · 15/12/2008 17:14

Aw Kayz, I've so been there, know just what it's like.

Take the co-codamol, see if it helps.
On the only plus side, your uterus will be winging it's way back to pre-pg status and it is usually done by the end of the first week.

sorkycake · 15/12/2008 17:15

You're in luck, we have a ton in 2-3. I think I discovered Next around about then
