Ooh, shall look at that mathsmummy

Just realised that I ordered 4 individual jam doughnuts yesterday, but received 4 bags of 5. I mean really... I know I'm greedy, but even so...

SpringySunshine · 25/11/2008 23:31

Ahhhhhhhhhhh, he just kicked me about 9 times in a row, all about 2 seconds apart - AND I COULD SEE THEM ALL. It's an exciting week!

Swaliswan · 26/11/2008 08:41

I've just had a text message from the Childminder asking if she can give me a ring for a chat at 9am. It sounds very ominous.....

Kalikaroo · 26/11/2008 09:06

Morning all - thought I'd bring the list over (hopefully it's the latest one).
Had my scan on Monday morning (I'm 21+5) - everything fine, but bubs was being very stubborn and had its legs crossed, so don't know the sex. Also didn't manage to get a nice profile shot to take home - got a very odd face-on picture which makes the baby look like an alien! Takes after its Dad obviously (I mean the stubbornness, not that he looks like an alien! )

Oops - just realised that conkertree already brought it over!! Just ignore me - pregnancy brain is getting ridiculous these days!!!!

LuLuBai · 26/11/2008 10:12

Morning all!

Nutty - I wasn't in the slightest offended. My DH really does have ludicrous taste in baby names - particularly boys (perhaps he subconsciously wants a girl, hence the hankering for names like Valeri and Evelyn...?)

Less than 24 hours until the scan now. So lots of umming and ahing about whether or not to find out the sex....

LuLuBai · 26/11/2008 10:13

Swaliswan hope all ok with your CM.

purlease · 26/11/2008 10:23

Told DD last night about impending brother or sister - she has decided she would like a sister. This morning I asked her if she was going to tell her friends that she is going to have a baby brother or sister - her response: No (followed by pause), I'm going to tell my friends taht mammy has a bbay in her tummy .

BarbarellaNz · 26/11/2008 10:48

Hi Everyone

Just caught up with all the posts since Monday...

SpringySunshine - congratulations on your little boy! That's brilliant news and I love the name 'George'.

BabyBolat - good luck with the boys' names! Teo is lovely but agree with you about Karahan being turned into Caravan by schoolkids!

hopeful1 - yes, the 'no sex' rule is very difficult!! God knows it probably won't get any better once I've had the babies!!!

I'm very jealous of all you 'hotmilk' buyers - that stuff is so lovely and will surely spice up your lives....

All the talk of doughnuts, chocolate krispies and biscuits has inspired me to get to the supermarket and stock up. I had a decaff Cherry Mocha with whipped cream at Starbucks yesterday (one of their Christmas drinks) and highly recommend it. I'm going back to get another one today...

I am STILL not feeling kicks yet and it's driving me crazy!! I feel the odd flutter but it still could be muscle twinges or gas!!Aaaaaarrrggghhh! 21 week scan on Monday so hopefully (like last time) it'll be all action on the screen although I can't feel anything. Have been looking at another thread about baby movements and one woman (who had twins) couldn't feel them until 24 weeks so that made me feel better....a bit....

How is everybody else feeling today? I will be back later to offer round some vanilla cupcakes with chocolate icing...

BarbarellaXX

LuLuBai · 26/11/2008 11:08

purlease that is so sweet of your DD. Aaaaw.

Babarella those little flutters do sound like baby movements. I reckon you probably feel a bit less as they probably have less room to swing from the chandeliers (or at least the umbilical chord) than single babies.

morning! nice new thread title
love the name discussion, hoping that our lo will have budged tomorrow so that we can start thinking about names too. saying that we knew with ds and it was a week after he was born before he was named.
feeling slightly better today, but still managing to cough so much I am sick. wondering whether to waste my time at docs. what else can they do after two failed antibiotics?
We find out today if dh will be made redundant - arhh!
Plus the car was broken into last night and they stole the tomtom leads - how annoying £100s worth of damage and something that is useful to me but not you! Rahhh!
hope to come back after my sleep (hoping ds manages a nice long one) with good news - although with 40 in office going could so easily be him....

LuLuBai · 26/11/2008 11:26

There is a branch of Blooming Marvellous quite near me so I'm going to go and try on some Hotmilk bras later . Explained to DH about the old maternity bras digging in and he said to buy more - yippeeeee. Although he was a bit that boobs even bigger than last time. He's slightly suspicious, even afraid, of them. Thinks they are going to start squirting milk missiles again when he least expects it. Poor bloke.

LuLuBai · 26/11/2008 11:28

oh dear - best of luck to your DH. worrying times.

Sarahmum · 26/11/2008 12:48

Hi all

PLEASE make me feel better... I've already moaned that all my friends are past having more babies and I don't know anyone who is PG, so was happy at DS school yesterday, when a friend introduced me to a mum I didn't know, whose due date is week after mine.

So pleased to meet another preggie lady - until I saw her with her 21" waist! Seriously - me already looking like whale and her looking like Kate Moss. I know she's a lovely lady, but really, it didn't do much for my self esteem! Then, another mum I've known for years said "Did you really bloat out with your son as well?". Bloat out??? I thought I was looking in reasonable shape!

Does everyone get this???

LuLuBai · 26/11/2008 12:53

Mmm - everyone is different. I am already twice the size of a woman I know who is due in January. And I bumped into someone the other day who is due the week after me - no bump AT ALL! Nada, nothing, rien! Still in normall clothes (at a guess no bigger than a size 10, probably closer to a size 8). She said no-one believes she is pregnant.

I've been in maternity wear for weeks now and have a v. prominent bump. So much so that I have been thinking I will have to go for a professional wax rather than de-fuzzing myself with an epilady as I really can't see what I'm doing anymore. And I need new underwear because I'm spilling out of my old (G cup ) maternity bras.

Sarahmum · 26/11/2008 12:59

Thank you LuLuBai - that was all I needed - I feel better already! I know I shouldn't give a fig about it, but sometimes, well, you know...

On the plus side, I think I'm officially going to need to go for a pedicure, as doing my own toes is getting tricky. Ok, I know I could just manage, but I'm not telling DH that!

Righty-ho I'm going to go into town now and see what size bra they recommend for me these days. My friend's sister ended up in 'M' cup when pregnant with her twins. Would imagine she needed an extension on her house to make space for the boobs.

afternoon folks - Sarahmum I saw an old friend last week who is due in December and she looked overall better than me cause I am more at the fat stage than proper bump stage (still) and I felt rubbish - but I knew I was always slightly bigger than her anyway and she eats so so carefully and I dont - so I suppose I dont deserve to look like her - but still - made me feel a bit rubbish.

I will be happy once my bump is big enough for people not to look at it twice before mentioning it as if they want to check its not just fat.

Well after the sickness at the weekend I now have a thumping headache and sore throat. Luckily no clients in today just people on the phones etc to deal with, and paperwork.

SpringySunshine · 26/11/2008 13:45

Good afternoon everyone

Swaliswan - hope everything's okay with your CM. A childcare drama's the last thing you need whilst pregnant, I'm sure.

Kalikaroo - glad that your baby's okay. Are you annoyed that you don't know the sex, or just looking forward to the surprise?

purlease - your DD sounds gorgeous, bless her.

Barbarella - I agree with Lulu that those do sound like movements, although it must be frustrating to not have the certainty of it. But as Lulu said, they just have a lot less room in there & besides, it's far more fun to kick each other

Nutty - I hope you're feeling a bit more positive this afternoon. From reading your AIBU, you MIL sounds like a super-bitch, by the way. I don't know how you haven't slapped her.

OddEyes - maybe they can try you on a different lot of antibiotics? I think you should go back anyway; if they can help it's far better to know now instead of in a few weeks when you finally give in & go back if it's no better. Also, how annoying about the car! Is it covered on insurance or is the excess too high to be worth it?

Sarah - I'm pretty large myself. My boobs were quite small to begin with - they'd fit perfectly in my hand, but now my hand doesn't even cover half of them. I've always been quite slim, but I'm definitely not now. My bump sticks out far further than my boobs & I look like a beached whale when I lie down. My major blessing is that I'm carrying all at the front - if it was spread out sideways too, I'd look like I was ready to pop already. But just ignore people's rude comments, they're just jealous that you get a cute baby soon. & people who are this pregnant & don't look it are just very lucky & I think it's only fair that we can hate them a little bit

Lulu - hope you find some nice undies! (I'm practically falling over at the thought of size M boobs... Imagine the back strain!

conkertree · 26/11/2008 13:50

ooh i'll take a jam doughnut - greggs only had plain sugar ones when i was in. thanks.

SpringySunshine · 26/11/2008 14:00

& they call themselves a bakery? Outrageous.
