Things I'm looking forward to once the baby is here:
Probably more sleep than I am getting now
My face and ankles getting back to their normal shape and size
No more thrush
No more piles (hopefully)
A glass of wine and the odd Marlboro light
Being able to stand up without thinking my insides are going to fall out of my fanjo
Being able to see my toes
No more itchy tummy
Being able to distinguish my boobs from my bump
Hopefully losing the diabetes and not having to inject five times a day
Oh, and there's so, so much more. Can you tell that I'm really not enjoying this pregnancy?!

OrangeCrush · 22/11/2008 11:54

I can't wait for a big dollop of brussels pate on toasted onion bread washed down with some chilled rose and followed by a really rare steak with chips and real mayo... Hmmmmm!

Bisou · 22/11/2008 12:08

Smoked salmon, gooey cheeses, gooey eggs.

And a really good shag with no bump in the way!

daisydora · 22/11/2008 12:44

morning all....
veggie I too have started to drool excesively in the night

kayz I too have shocking back ache today but that maybe from doing too much hoovering this morning. Think my nesting instinct is going into overdrive as I have also cleaned the inside windows and washed all the babies bedding in non bio ready for when it comes home!

Am desperate for DD to have an afternoon nap as DH is working and I need a lie down but she just keeps looking at me and saying 'no sleep mummy watch teletubbies'

daisydora · 22/11/2008 12:49

Things I'm looking forward to after Tuesday...

...Pate, Goats cheese, brie, wine, wearing heels without my ankles spilling over, getting my sex drive back, wine...

...but top of all that meeting bubs at last of course

lal07 · 22/11/2008 13:00

Veggie am cross your GP was no help. Honestly - think sometimes people think you should tolerate all pregnancy related pain/discomfort because you've some how brought it on yourself. First GP I saw when I started with hyperemesis had that attitude. Ridiculous. Hope you find some way of easing discomfort

Am really behind on this thread already! Thanks for setting up kayz. Think it was kmp who was asking about comfy lounging around trousers. Was very excited yesterday as my new sweaty betty tracksuit arrived - bit of an extravagance for what is basically a tracksuit but so soft and fleecy and doesn't look too skanky so I'll be pretty much living in it once DD arrives.

Am very of those of you with snow, and actually of all the yorkshire chat. Am from N Yorks and although I love London do miss it. Mind you is v cold here today. We only managed half an hour in Greenwich Park this morning before DS was saying "go home coffee and a cake" (he has frothy milk I hasten to add).

JB am most looking forward to having a normal appetite again....that and chicken liver pate.

kayzisexpecting · 22/11/2008 13:50

I want some stilton. Most things you can't have I don't like anyway but I am really missing blue stilton.

I got mine done at a local shop. I had no end of trouble and mothercare as they got it completely wrong.

Bravissimo is meant to be really good if you have one near you.

hello!
Sorry so many of you had bad nights. Mine was not too bad - only 2 wees! (pathetic small ones though!). Had a lovely dinner with my friends last night although I ate more than I should have - I knew at the time I'd regret it but it tasted so nice!!!
DH has taken DD to grandparents for the morning so I can chill out, but instead I've been to town, got some more Christmas shopping, been to Asda for some bits and bobs, and wrapped loads of pressies. NOW I'm sitting down and chilling out, they'll be home any minute! Why won't I just stop?!
Am rather gutted that it is definitely cold enough to snow (worsened by the fact that I have no coats that I can do up!) but there is no actual snow! It must still be a bit higher in Yorkshire than I am...maybe later today?
Am feeling quite achy, back and bump today. doh.
After the birth - can't wait to be feeding my little one and see how dd is with her...pate on toast..hmmmmmmm....salami....wearing something different rather than the same 3 tops and trousers that get recycled round and round...having a big wee (of course)...generally being able to bend in the middle without grunting would be nice!
Taking dd to a party later - an action man party - although she will be going as a princess of course! Off to get a cuppa now...will catch up later xxx

Just chucking myself on here so I dont lose you all. Will read back and catch up.

Beans33 · 22/11/2008 15:51

Hello - Peter Jones is very good as well for bras. I went along a couple of weeks ago to get fitted for nursing bras and they said I couldn't do it til 2 weeks - 10 days before the due date as boobs will grow more then. I hope so. Mine are still rather weener. Pathetic! Re my leaking nipples - please don't be jealous - it literally is just like a little tiny squeeze out drip - almost a bit like squeezing a spot! Vile and TMI, I know!!! But nothing copious to speak of!!!

DH has gone off to watch a spot of rugby and I'm taking advantage and doing very little apart from watching Columbo (my Dad calls it Braindot for some reason). Loving it! Plus, I am baking cakes because I've got some girlie friends from school coming for tea tomorrow so am making squidgy chocolate log with double cream and choccy mousse filling. And a victoria sponge. Feeling very domesticated. Just hope they taste nice. Oooh, am making myself salivate!! Tonight we're watching Strictly and having a Chinese take away. I'm very excited!

Oh and think I might have a little nap shortly!!!

Was painting our garden furniture this morning and I was bending over to do the bottom of a chair leg and I felt something make a crunching noise in my tummy. Immediately sure I'd broken the baby and burst into tears. DH was lovely and plonked me in a chair with some Cadburys heroes and cup of tea and made me sit there until I'd felt it kick again. I can't really break it can I? Was really worried I'd broken a limb or something on the baby. Was awful. But it is wiggling now, so feeling a bit better. [worried emoticon]

theyoungvisiter · 22/11/2008 16:32

hello, a quick post to add this to my threads - still having computer trouble though so you may not hear much from me

kayzisexpecting · 22/11/2008 16:48

Beans you can't break the baby. I'm sure of it.

I have had a long nice nap on the sofa and I feel so much better for it. For some reason I always feel better after a nap on the sofa but if I go up to bed to nap I feel worse.

OP posts:
theyoungvisiter · 22/11/2008 17:09

second the bit about not breaking the baby - it was probably just wind moving around violently due to the constriction, I get odd crunching noises under my ribs which I know is my intestines - nice!

Verso · 22/11/2008 17:33

beans I think it would be really difficult to break the baby - it's really well cushioned inside you. Your DH sounds like a sweetie though. Fancy having Cadbury's heroes on tap! . Bless.

Also v of the snow chat. I grew up in S Yorkshire and loved the snow. STILL love snow. >sigh<

After the baby comes I'm looking forward to sushi, pate, brie, blue cheese, rare steak and real coffee - all the usual suspects - as well as like daisy says, wearing all my nice shoes again! I am SICK of my SENSIBLE but UGLY FLAT SHOES. I knew they must be dodgy when my Mum said the other day she thought they were v stylish and practical (she's 80).

Me too cat, me too. Oh well, what's done is done and I've been working on the theory of everything in moderation ...

Hate to make people any more of the snow, but I've had a fab day in it. It is such lovely, powdery, crunchy snow and gorgeous to walk and play in. Saying that, several roads round my way are closed now, and Scarborough (where I'm having babyZJ) and Pickering (where I think kayz lives) has been described as impassable - so we're both going to be keeping out legs crossed tonight I think! Due to melt away tomorrow so it'll be slushy and horrible then and I'll wish it wasn't here at all.

beans I'm sure baby beans is fine in there, but it was very wise to treat any problems with chocolate, the best thing for it I think

Must go now to get tea prepared so it can cook whilst I enjoy strictly. Ta ra

kayzisexpecting · 22/11/2008 17:55

Zoe Keep your legs crossed woman!!!!! Don't fancy a homebirth do you??

There is no snow here anymore. It is all melted away. No good as I wanted to build a snowman tomorrow.

Hi - very big at all the things to look forward to after bump is baby! I agree with every one of them (except the ciggy!)
Yeah Lal that was me chasing the comfy tracky's.... I will have a look at the sweaty website - but think i'm going to order a pair from M&S online as they have some for £29 with a bit of cashmere in them and so they sound really soft!
Don't worry Cat I've had a bit of the "banned" stuff too - the odd wine, i've had a bit of blue cheese (not much blue tho mainly goats cheese if any) and have even had a steak that wasn't exactly medium! All in moderation I say too..... Lok at what they didn't know back when we were born!

zoejeanne · 22/11/2008 19:34

kayz we've still got a good few inches, but I think ours is forecast to melt tomorrow. And no, I don't fancy a homebirth either! Will be abstaining from pineapple and sex tonight (no change there then ...)

kayzisexpecting · 22/11/2008 19:39

We've had loads in the last couple of hours. So we may be able to make a small snowman!!!

I've ordered some Clary Sage as it is meant to help bring on labour or help with labour.
