x-posts kayz oooohhh I bet you beat the 'CS on Tuesday' ladies . I have had a feeling for a few days that your bub would be early - keep us posted

Verso · 21/11/2008 19:59

Ooh kayz that's really exciting!!

katie I've been told to phone at 8am on the day because you have to check theatre isn't fully occupied with emergency c/s. It might vary from hospital to hospital though.

Thanks again for all the support everyone. You've all been fab to me in my wibbliness throughout this pregnancy and I really appreciate it. (Watch out! Any minute now I'll start saying "you're all my besh frens" and you'll start to worry I've been at the Christmas sherry! )

EffiePerine · 21/11/2008 19:59

Good luck Kayz

could be our first labour signs - bet by the time I get round to giving birth you'll all be going 'whatever' and 'call those contractions?'

kayzisexpecting · 21/11/2008 20:12

Its all stopped, I blame the bath. My MW said to me on Thursday that if I have any contractions to have some paracetamol and a bath. If its real labour the contractions wont stop. So it is obviously not to be tonight.

I am so annoyed!!!

Thanks for the thread Kayz... and good luck! Wonder if you'll be next.

Verso, glad you are all sorted. Katie, when I had DD2 I didn't need to phone - just turn up duly starved etc. The hospital just said that unless there were a mega disaster (like the london bombings when all hands were to the pump) then they would slot you in as otherwise they were just moving the problem from one day to the next. You'll get on, but it might be afternoon rather than 8am. HTH.

OJ with extras - I think not. I'd rather still be pregnant. Surely the prostaglandins in the sperm would be destroyed by the stomach acid? I suspect that it might work better applied topically, as it were, but in any event I don't intend to find out!

I like the idea of Arti and KMP having a secret sign. Beans, you and I could be at Tommy's at the same time but as we have already met we can smile and wave openly. Turnip and Kimberly are also at the same place aren't you - St John's and Elizabeth?

Am off downstairs now for a glass of wine. DH is on bedtime duty as he had the day off and DD1 is running rings round him. "just one more story, daddy", even though she's had 3 already! I'm afraid I call it a day at 2 meself. Bad mummy!

Happy weekend everyone.

Hi All. It was my last day of work today. Now going to spend the next few days catching up with this thread. I cant believe there are 2 babies already- and maybe more on the way. I really must pack a bag and start my Christmas shopping.
Have a good weekend. I will post a longer reply once I have caught up with what has been going on.

Mina30 · 21/11/2008 20:35

Hiya Girls

Mina

JollyBear · 21/11/2008 21:16

Hello everyone,

I'm so excited. The babies have started arriving! . I can't wait to hear some birth stories.

verso I'm not surprised you were upset. What a cow! Glad things are organised now. Enjoy your weekend.

Bleugh at the idea of spermy orange juice. That MUST have been thought up by a man surely. I'd want to see some peer reviewed research based evidence before giving that a go!

Only one more week at work for me. I just can't wait to have a few weeks of pottering, nesting and daytime TV. I don't want Jollycub to arrive just yet!

What are people most looking forward to after the birth, apart from their longed for baby of course?! I am going to be so happy when I can empty my bladder properly and not need a wee two minutes after having one.

kayzisexpecting · 21/11/2008 21:39

Jolly I think I am with you on that one. I want to meet my baby and give him a cuddle but I want to be able to stop weeing!!!

No more contractions but awful bad back ache.

Veggiemummy · 21/11/2008 22:01

good evening home now after my course did attachment of baby to boob today was really good found out so much more than when i was taught for DS's feeding and so many tips o how to sort out problems. Only thing is as a BF helper i'm not really supposed to give much advice have to pass it to the counsellors etc. but still good advice and much better than what MW teach with the shove on thing. Also knew skin to skin was good but didnt realise how helpful it for BF. My advice get naked for a few days after the birth ladies (with heating on of course).

I think veggei baby has disengeged a little if that is possible. He doesn't feel so low down and i was able to hang on to a wee that when i did it lasted at least a minute!!!!! so all good.

My Tens machine arrived today though which must mean i am due in about 3 weeks as that is when they said they would send it. I really need to get sorted with stuff.

Verso-i am so pleased you emailed PALS, that stupid laughing women needs a good battering about the head and body.

KMP hope you get some sleep tonight, I could have head butted my GP yesterday. I asked him for something better than gaviscon for my heartburn as i was getting no sleep. he said he wasn't happy to give me Ranitidine, so wrote me a prescrition for a liquid which is bascically another version of gaviscon but made by another company!!!! in his words, 'you'll have it for a couple more weeks so it's not really worth trying something else' . I would lie to make one of those orange juice spunk shakes and make him drink it. Nobhead.

oh i'm sounding a lot more violent than i feel. had a nice night out with my friend in Nottingham, but left them to continue on while i came home as need some sleep, and also need to pack for London.

Veggiemummy · 21/11/2008 22:05

oh and Kayz. If you start feeling contractions overnight, take the paracetamol have the bath if you want but also have a nice glass of red as it may help you have a little sleep in the early stages which is good for coping with labour later, and well it's yummy.

Veggiemummy · 21/11/2008 22:22

hey does anyone else have an excessive amount of saliva at the moment? I have to change my pillow case every morning because it is wet with dribble, and i send out little bits of spit when i talk it's gross. I don't want to talk to people too close to their faces as i am scared i will spit on them. What is with that??

kayzisexpecting · 21/11/2008 22:29

Veggie I have the excessive saliva. Especially at night, its really gross.

Bisou · 22/11/2008 02:53

I get lots of saliva when I'm thinking about icecream...

katie3677 · 22/11/2008 06:18

(Waves at any other fellow insomniacs who might be online)
Morning all, that has to be the worst night ever, so far. DS kept waking up wanting hugs - very unusual for him and I was having BH all night and couldn't get comfortable at all. As DH has deigned to move back in to our bed for the w/e I was very conscious of waking him up with all my moving around and so finally gave up an hour ago. Oh well, who needs sleep?!
Hope everyone is feeling better than I am this morning.

Verso · 22/11/2008 07:53

Morning katie >waves

Veggiemummy · 22/11/2008 08:46

tbf Verso you have had a lot to be wibbling about recently, cold just makes it that little bit worse hope it gets sorted by tues.

Bad night gain last night, every hour that i woke up with heartburn i sent out evil cranky lady vibes to that plucking GP who said i only have a few weeks left so don't need anything stronger for this heartburn. I think these bloody doctors think it is something simple like their belittling of period pain, bugger him i hope his testicles shrivel up and he never satisfies a women ever again.

Veggiemummy · 22/11/2008 08:48

sorry that was a bit nasty, i'm just a bit tired and cranky.

off to London now fingers crossed someone wants to rent our flat.

kayzisexpecting · 22/11/2008 09:05

Morning,

Veggie "bugger him i hope his testicles shrivel up and he never satisfies a women ever again."
That really made me laugh and I really needed a giggle.

Nothing more happened last night I was hoping I was going to be having my baby but no such luck. He'll probably be late knowing my luck.

DS accidently headbutted me in the nose this morning. It really really bloody hurts. Both DS and me started to cry and poor DH didn't know what to do.

ITS SNOWING!!!

OP posts:
kmp1 · 22/11/2008 09:08

lol veggie i agree - i have been up again all night with heartburn - again - and the shortness of breath - again- DH gets up all fresh and then went off fo a massive bike ride.. just said ' yeah i heard you tossing and turning all night' and then - can i get you anything? I think these docs just think it's not as disruptive as it actually is -- I wore my mothercare support thing last night and it has helped a lot for my back and the heavy tummy for the hourly pee trips - i didn't need to carry my tummy! Don't have the saliva thing - but i prob could use it as i have agreed to this research test about the effects of mood / depression etc after 1st baby, and have to submit some!

SummerLightning · 22/11/2008 10:09

argh i sympathise, I was in bed all yesterday with a horrid cold, obviously this is the cold that half the blokes at my work have been off with (calling "man flu")
feel crap today but am going to try getting up and see if I feel better then.

Morning everyone, I?ve woken up to snow this morning and I?m so excited, I love snow. Does anyone else have any? And the best thing is my niece and nephew are staying next door with the ILs so I will be heading over there v soon to get them wrapped up and outside to play !

kayz you sound as excited as me about the snow ? maybe a good job those contractions wore off last night and they wait until the roads are better for a dash to the MLU! Exciting though, I hope your baby doesn?t keep you hanging on too much longer.

I?m with those who want to stop weeing once baby arrives, actually I want to do one big, enormous in fact, really satisfying wee! And cat, I?m actually quite of your enormous hooters ? mine have grown to a wopping B cup

veggie your course sounds so interesting, and helpful. I know you?re doing it for career reasons, but I think all expectant Mums should go on it as I?m sure we?d all benefit (but then maybe you?d be out of a job in future if we all know it all)

Right, off to don my wellies and bobble hat and play ? hurrah!

kayzisexpecting · 22/11/2008 10:22

We have snow Zoe but then again we're not too far apart.

It snowed on the way to hospital with DS so I'm not too worried. Plus its only to Malton this time instead of Scarborough. Thank god.

Cat Don't want to upset you but according to the lady who measured me for my nursing bra, your hooters can get a lot bigger after birth as your milk comes in. I am dreading it as mine are big enough as it is.
