WOW ladies you have been very busy posting since i've been away. Skim read it all, seems like everyone giving in to take away and chocolate bars! This is what weekends are all for.

Yesterday my mother, and grandmother went to Winchester to see my sister who is at university there. never been, gorgreous town, esp with all the xmas lights up. Also they had a xmas market at the cathederal, which was nice.... but VERY busy, and people didn't seem to have any manners for minding me and bump, or my Fraile 78 year old Grandmother. Grrr. Am glad to have been doing most of my Christmas shopping online, and with yesterdays experience i shall continue to do so!!!!!

We picked up our pram (Out and about nipabout in Raspberry) maxi cosi car seat (in black, i can't remember which style) and 2 bases (one easy base and one isofix) from the baby shop. So once i get OH to go next door and pick up big mothercare order (which according to delivery note nextdoor have signed for us) then we are literally ready to go apart from
-Nursery Curtains
-Breast Feeding Nightie!!!
Feeling pretty organised considering 32 weeks, but then again, given my little wobble the other week, i have a feeling this little one might make an arrival at the beg of jan rather than her due date!! (Now i've said that, i'll be the last one to pop!)

Right, back off to join OH on the couch. Sundays are super relaxing lazy days, and OH v. happy as LOTS of good football on the TV! haha.

1st December tomo, Cannot believe it! will put up Decorations once OH home from work before antenatal class!!!

moosemama · 30/11/2008 15:49

spink and chefswife, sorry to hear you are both ill. Hope you are better really soon.

Well so much for my childless weekend. It appears that DS2 has been really ill and Mum thought it would be best not to worry me!

Overslept this morning without the little ones to wake us up, txt Mum straight away to see how boys were only to be told he had been really sick in the night but was fine now and watching his new christmas dvd.

Further txts managed to extract that he was not in fact alright, he had a raging temperature, streaming nose, racking cough and had been sick and sick and sick - lots. Said I would be there asap, then she txt to ask me if it could be slapface as he looked very red. Asked if she'd given calpol, answer yes but not the full dose!!!! She then said she'd fed him porridge made with milk for breakfast but that he only wanted a couple of mouthfuls and was hoping he might eat a roast dinner for tea! Told her to give him the full dose of calpol and I was on my way round.

Got there to find extremely poorly little boy with really high temp in red hot lounge under 3 blankets and a towel! Stripped him down and gave calprofen as well, waited for it to work, scooped him up and brought him straight home (DS1 wanted to stay at Grandmas for tea). He is soooo poorly, have him on sofa with me, has been sick again and had a bad tum, but got temp under control and is now sleeping next to me on the sofa.

When I got to Mum's she told me he'd been delirious and febrile (he is prone to febrile convulsions with temperatures) and shouting at Daddy who wasn't there! She said she thought it was best for him to 'sweat it out'! Also thought she wouldn't ask if he wanted Mummy in case it meant we had to cut our weekend short! Apparently as soon as she mentioned I was coming he cried and said he just wanted his Mummy now.

Am absolutely fuming, my poor little boy so so poorly and I didn't even know about it so he had to cope without his Mummy when he really needed me!

Anyway rant over, he is much happier now he is back at home with me and has had the right treatment.

Right, will try and calm down now - deeeep breaths Moosemama, deeeep breaths!

(On a more positive note, my lounge is now finished and looks great!)

missjackson · 30/11/2008 16:07

Can I join in with the sick and ill crew? Can't believe it's already 4pm and I have soooo much to do but can't seem to get going on anything- have a stinking cold as well as some tummy bug -- and am very envious of you more organised ladies talking about xmas decs and presents and hospital bags! Somehow before xmas I have to pack up my entire house in London and move to Wales.

I need to make a list...

I read OH that list that chefswife and tink made a while ago, of stuff to get ready before the baby comes - I don't think he had any idea of the small details, and now the poor guy has an image of me sitting there with cabbage in my nursing bra and a fridge full of maxi pads! Romantic...

Well, I seem to have plenty of time for mumsnet and facebook, but I had better get on with something more useful... wish these "nesting" instincts would kick in at some point!

missjackson · 30/11/2008 16:09

ps - spink I am having similar thoughts about homebirth now. I was all set up to do it here in London with the brilliant homebirth team who bring all the stuff to you including a pool, but now I'll be in Wales and am now thinking that hiring a pool etc is just one hassle too many to handle. I'm looking at the nice brand new midwife-led birthing centre instead. But maybe will just stay open to both options until nearer the time.

Thanks gtdab.

He's just given me the scare of my life. Woke up completely glazed, pupils dilated, shaking and shuddering with clenched fists and rigid bent arms and legs. Couldn't get him to respond to me or even look at me. Picked him up and all his bones cracked! Tried to call DH who was painting the bedroom ceiling, but he couldn't hear me. Held him on my knee talking to him asking him to look at me etc, all of a sudden he came out of it and started talking about how nice our lounge will look with the Christmas tree up! Talked a lof of gobbledegook for a few minutes then seemed to be back to normal. No temperature or anything.

OMG I was so scared, had visions of rushing him to hospital, but is now curled up on sofa watching Tom and Jerry quite happily!

Moose - hope your DS feels better soon
Everyone with colds and flu - hope you all feel better soon too
Major nesting instincts have kicked in here - but then I only have 4 and a half weeks to go til due date . My mum and dad were none too pleased when they arrived to find me out the front of my house cleaning window sills and my front door with bleachy water. It's all lovely and clean now for the decorations getting put up next weekend .
Was in Glasgow today with DH and DD to pick up our new pram - we went for Mamas and Papas Ultima with the works, it looks great and even fits in the boot of my Renault Clio! My gosh it was freezing cold thought - freezing fog and temperatures of -3. Shanster - you're well away from it .

fourlittlefeet · 30/11/2008 21:03

evening, just checking in then off to read

Shanster · 01/12/2008 03:04

HeathersMummy, you must have been freezing out there cleaning window sills!! Everyone I spoke to from home today was huddled by the fire!! I quite fancy some proper crisp cold weather right now, would make it feel more like Christmas...which means it is nearly time for baby to arrive

rrrayray · 01/12/2008 09:34

Morning ladies.

i am VERY happy this morning, Last night i had a bath, and where i filled it VERY deep, i think some water went down the overflow thing (you know the bit so the bath doesnt spill over the top) anyway when i had finished my bath OH and i go downstairs to find water dripping out of the LIGHT of the room bellow onto OHs brand new pool table! Was mortified. Was a BIG water mark and was freaking out at having ruined it (although indirectly and not my fautlt really) Blotted the felt as much as i could, but was sure would stain. But this morning, praise the lord, not a single Mark!!!! phew.

moose Gosh that sounds so scary with your little one. i hope he is fine now?

Heathersmummy You REALLY don't have long to go!!! & Exciting about pram... i too have been playing with my new wheels! :-) Even found the usually disinterested OH wheeling them around :-)

missjackson so glad you had such a wonderful wedding, it looks/sounds like a really intimate personal day- which is what its all about- the two (well Three) of you!

largeginandtonic · 01/12/2008 09:44

Good grief it is cold here and i have been up since 3.

Managed to get them all up and off to school but cant stop yawning. DS has playschool after lunch and the baby went back to sleep in my bed till 740 after crying out all hours of the night so no rest for me! Will have to put the coffee on...

Sorry to hear so many of you are poorly, i remember getting very ill when pregnant with ds#4. He was due 13th Jan (day after this one is due!) i lost my voice and was totally wiped out. DS#3 was in hospital with Pneumonia and i kept talking to the bump and saying you cant come out till your brother is home and safe. I went in to labour as we left the hospital with him and had him 40 minutes later. I was so ill for weeks after wards, i recommend taking lots of vitamins and resting as much as you can. I couldnt even cry out in labour as i had no voice!

The chaos starts this week, the children have soooo many things on. I will be back and forward to various schools till they break up! No baby yet...no baby yet...no baby yet!!!

tinkisahugexmaspudding · 01/12/2008 09:47

morning

cant believe it is dec opened our advent calenders

rray yah for picking up you pram etc sounds gd

mm - hope ds better does sound scary definetly think your mum should have told you soonner

miss j - sorry for cold

largeginandtonic · 01/12/2008 10:01

We have 7 lined up on top of the piano in the dining room... the rabbit has one too

It makes mine eat their breakfast in double quick time, i am thinking of instaing it as a year round thing to save me shouting "just eat your breakfast" times a hundred every morning

Moose your poor ds, i just read that bit. No cellar for him today then. TBH my mother would phone me in a second if one of the children was sick but only because she wouldnt want it herself

Periwink · 01/12/2008 10:11

Hope all the ladies with a cold are feeling better! Nesting instinct is in full force here....

oopsadaisyangel · 01/12/2008 10:37

Hey ladies!! Mind if I join in?!? I'm due on 19th January (although am getting induced about 3 weeks early!) I'm beginning to feel the strain now - can't sleep, just feel constantly heavy and basically just want to stay in bed till baby decides to make an appearance - although can't as still working full time and have a DS (6) to look after!!

Oops x

rrrayray · 01/12/2008 11:34

oopsadaisyangel Welcome, the more the merrier. If your due 19th jan, but being induced 3 wks early- you really havent got much longer at all to go! Wish i knew when my little one was going to put in an appearance.

Off to clean the house top to toe ready for the decorations later! yay.

Welcome oopsadaisyangel!
GTDAB I am identifying with the legs like sausages comment. I've been eating fairly healthily though so don't think it has anything to do with food - just being pregnant! Also have appalling heartburn....lovely.

Will things ever return to normal??!!!

qumps · 01/12/2008 13:06
