TinkerBellesMum · 25/11/2008 16:58

One physio showed me to stand next to a wall and kind of run your bum downwards against it. That might not be the best explanation, but I hope you can see what I mean.

Dinky, that means your breast size is the same, maybe a little smaller, it's just your ribs that have expanded, which is normal in pregnancy.

littleboyblue · 25/11/2008 17:16

Thanx for all the advice re back ache. I will try not to push it out, not able to stand straight at the moment though, will see how it goes.

Already told dp to let me know when he is near with ds so can put newbie down.

TBM Thanx for the offer of the sling, I'll talk to dp tonight about it, he's not too keen and I'm still undecided about it.

dinkystinky · 25/11/2008 17:19

Phew - that's a relief TBM

dinkystinky · 25/11/2008 19:59

Oh no, my talk of exploding boobs appears to have killed the thread!

TinkerBellesMum · 25/11/2008 20:26

There's some good exercises that will help you to get better posture, I'll see if I can find a website with them on. It's difficult when you get to that point. If I'm not on crutches I walk like I'm still sitting down!

No worries about the sling, just let me know if you're interested.

Dinky, I've done it the wrong way around but it's not much difference, up a bra size is down a cup size. Don't forget that industry wide standardising means that most women are Bravissimo Girls now! We still have the mindset from the old days when F would be huge (it's about today's JJ).

SophStar · 25/11/2008 20:28

Hi Dinky - saw that you've bought the little bear suit at Gap. Ive has my eye on this for years - way before I found out I was pregnant! What colour did you get yours in? cos Ive been looking for a tan/dark brown but can only find cream in the stores this year which I imagine will be nightmare for stains etc!

SophStar · 25/11/2008 20:31

Also there is a cute one at Mothercare so will go there if Gap fails me...

dinkystinky · 25/11/2008 20:32

Got cream Sophstar - is the only colour they had in. Is ok though as baby chunder is creamy so wont show up too badly on it!

littleboyblue · 25/11/2008 20:34

Thanx TBM, just looked at the slide show properly, can't show dp yet as he's watching Miss Naked Beaty. He insists that it's me that's watching it to make himself feel better, but I'm normally reading a book!!
I have a standard high street brand sling that I used twice with ds, my concern about going down the wrap road is that whoever has my son (if parents are babysitting or dp goes out) everyone has to use it, so thinking that I will prob still get tandem pushchair and use my carrier when I have to travel, will get dp to look at it tomoz though.

My gp told me today that I'm big for 29wks, but she didn't measure me so will have to see what happens at next ante-natal appt.

dinky I'm having bra/boob issues too, like TBM says, my ribs seem to have expanded which is causing a bit of discomfort, will have to get measured soon too.

Welcome Pinkbabybump
we have the same due date Race you

TinkerBellesMum · 25/11/2008 20:56

Dinky, I had a cheap chair for when someone else had Tink, my parents have buggies in for when they have grandchildren over and I think TBD's parents have a buggy too. In the early days we were a unit so I didn't bother with a chair because no one else would have her anyway.

Pink and Soph, if you are on FaceBook we have a group over there. Search for Mumsnet and you'll find a February group with one member. Request to join it and I'll sort you out. (It's not the real group it's how we sift through the real Fab Febbers and just people who have found us).

I meant to add the header back in to the post but forgot!

Hello lovely bumpy ladies.

Today my baby has had a madly active day, to the point where I actually felt self conscious at work.

I thought if anyone looked at my middle it would look like I someone was trying to escape!

Then I had a bath tonight which set him off again and he was doing acrobatics.

Here's a scary thought.....Today is exactly one month until Christmas day, and less then two months until the first of our due dates laidback!

OP posts:
thehouseofmirth · 25/11/2008 21:41

Evening all! Sorry your back's bad LBB. I have a lovely pain in my bottom from sticking my hip out when I carry DS on the other side but luckily no bad back (yet).

PT I've been suffering from headaches too. Tended to come on in afternoon generally and not too bad so didn't see GP for ages and when I did she checked all obvious stuff & nothing was wrong. I think mine are tiredness-related too.

On the subject of slings I've just bagged a twice-used Hug a Bub for £40. It's a stretchy wrap and I'm planning on using it until he gets too heavy then going back to my trusty Wilkinet. I'm hoping it'll be a bit more "pop in & outable" than the Wilkinet and will give me easier hands-free time at home so DS won't be so resentful of me holding DS2. Well, that's the theory...

thehouseofmirth · 25/11/2008 21:46

MS please stop that talk! I don't see how I will ever get ready for Christmas and a baby, especially as MIL is descending upon us on 18th December for 12 days!!!

TinkerBellesMum · 25/11/2008 22:08

THOM, try using the wrap now save your poor hip! I don't get this weight thing with wraps, if they're wrapped tight enough then they shouldn't get too heavy in it, if you can feel them then it's not tight enough, if it hurts you it hurts them along the same line.

thehouseofmirth · 25/11/2008 22:21

TBM I think it's because it's a stretchy wrap and so has a bit more "give" in it than a woven one. I haven't used t yet so I don't knwo but all th reaearch I've done, amongst seasoned babywearer seemd to be that once they hit 6-9 month sit's time to move on to a woven wrap or soemthing else. Would try it on DS but at almost 3.5 I don't think he'd take kindly to being slung any more, sadly. I think he'd find it too restrictive though maybe I'll hunt for the padded ring sling that someone once gave me that was just too big when he was a baby.

pinkbabybump · 25/11/2008 22:23

TBM - think i am already a member on the fb mumsnet feb, i had friend request from swampster and she added me to group. If not then my name is catherine saul from plymouth network, i've just requested to join 1 member group

chilledmama - lol, no races for me i'm booked in on 20th feb for c-section due to complications in my previous pregnancy

It's good to be here

TinkerBellesMum · 25/11/2008 22:23

I was using mine until a couple of months ago and only stopped because she kept trying to climb out, I only use stretchy. The pictures I posted today are when she was 13/14 months old. I've never got my head around why people have problems with stretchies, I find them really comfortable.

TinkerBellesMum · 25/11/2008 22:29

Ah yes, I see you on the list I hadn't checked for new members recently as I tend to field them anyway.

thehouseofmirth · 25/11/2008 22:34

TBM that's very interesting! We'll see what happens.

littleboyblue · 26/11/2008 08:36

Morning ladies. Hope everyone's ok today.
I've been awake all night in a major panic.
Warning about to share TMI
I woke up about 1am with the worst stomach and back pain I've had since ds was born. Before going to bed, I couldn't even stand straight. Anyway, woke up and went to the bathroom. 3 times. Got back into bed and started thinking, my god, my back is really as bad as it was the day before ds was born, and maybe what just happened was the 'evacuation' and I'm about to go into labour.
Woke dp to voice my fears, he was not happy about being woken, but told me to call mw in morning if not better.
Wel, couldn't sleep after that so laying there more frightened than I've ever been in my life.
In ther cold light of day, the logical explanations are that I didn't cook the burgers we had for dinner properly and my urine infection has travelled to my kidneys.
TBM you are clearly alot stronger than me to be able to get through the real fear of such an early delivery. Last night really opened my eyes to what some people have to face and how lucky most of us are.

dinkystinky · 26/11/2008 08:57

LBB - call your midwife or the antenatal unit and let them know. They'll probably ask you to come up to the hospital to get checked out - and will hopefully give you some pain relief too. Fingers crossed is just a dodgy tummy but is worth getting checked out - hope everything is ok.

littleboyblue · 26/11/2008 08:59

Thanx dinky I was thinking about calling them anyway, but the thought of looking someone in the face and talking about my bowel movements is so embarrasing!! Not so bad on here (until I come to a meet-up).
Think you're right though, doesn't seem to be as bad this morning, but no harm in getting checked, better to be safe
