A great big hello to you all........ I am back on line at last. I have invested in a computer and broadband so the only thing to stop me now is not paying the bills......

Hope you are all well. I havent been on for a few weeks so have no chance of catching up, have i missed any major developments. Is tink ok and baby still in the warm??

MarkStretch · 03/12/2008 20:37

Welcome back Lardy, nice to see you, we missed you! How's bump? Baby tink is still in, last time we heard anyway...

We are just back from dd's tour around the Junior School. She loved it and wants to go NOW.

I have had achy stretching pains all day throughout my bump so came home and told DH I wanted to go to bed. He brought me up my laptop, a cup of tea, and a Wispa bar he'd bought me as a surprise

lardybump · 03/12/2008 20:44

Ah can we swap DH's, yours sounds lovely..... I am sitting eating mince pies at the moment, yum yum..

Baby is dancing all over the place at the moment my belly looks like it is doing the twist all on its own. I have final bloods tomorrow so a bit nervous about the blood sugar ones... I also have SPD but apart from that bump and I are really well thanks. DP is being lovely at the moment although I dont see alot of him as he is working long hours to make up for my loss of wages. Maternity pay starts next week so we hope that that will alow him to cut back on his over time a bit......

I am really big now. Straingers ask if I ma having twins??? How rude.

How are you? Is DH staying in a bit more now???

MarkStretch · 03/12/2008 20:50

Actually he hasn't been out for ages!

I'm going to my mum's this weekend to see my mum, 2 aunties and my cousin who's also pregnant and he's got a whole Saturday night to himself. I expected him to go out with his mates, he said he might stay in and order a pizza.

= my face

OP posts:
MarkStretch · 03/12/2008 20:52

I've run out of mince pies, they are my current craving. I think a trip to Somerfield is in order tomorrow!

lardybump · 03/12/2008 21:03

He has the whole weekend to himself and he is staying in with a pizza???? What have you done to him MS???? Could you work a little of your magic on mine, I seem to have become the taxi driver over the last few weekends... I will get my own back once I stop feeding though (this time next year then!!)

I agree mince pies are the food of the gods at the moment..... You must restock or i will eat them all.....

pluto · 03/12/2008 21:36

DH popped out to corner shop earlier. I was willing him to come back with choc for me - didn't ask in time before he went. He came back with tomato juice for his breakfast.

TinkerBellesMum · 03/12/2008 22:58

Thanks MOS. About names, I HATE Izzy and usually answer "I don't know, is he?" I've always said I gave her her name and that is what she will be until she is old enough to say she wants to be called something different (whether that's Izzy, Belle or whatever). If you like a name but not certain shortenings, take charge! We put out a nickname (Tinker Belle) that my niece came up with and if anyone wants to mess with her name they can use that (Tink, Tinker, Tink-Tink etc).

Lardy, I'm still pregnant but not expected to hold out much longer. Just over three weeks ago I was given four weeks, Monday my consultant said she'll see me in 2 weeks if I'm still pregnant and she also gave me a lecture about not ignoring contractions as I'm the furthest I've ever gone now (tomorrow by their dates or Monday by mine) and I had another positive fibronectin less than two weeks ago with no drugs to reverse it this time it could be within the week - so all signs are pointing to this pregnancy having a week or so left.

Anyway, glad to see you back

littleboyblue · 04/12/2008 08:48

Morning. My ds still isn't well. This cold wants to hurry up and shift, I am sooo tired, back is killing too where I've spent so long huddled over the cot side to pat and stroke. Waiting until he's well to take the sides off in prep for a proper bed. Ideally wanted it done now, but not changing anything while he's poorly.
Can't believe I've got another 10 weeks to go, and it seems I'm gonna have anothr baby that never wants to sleep, DOES NOT STOP MOVING!!!!! No pleasing me, moan when he moves, moan when he doesn't.
Hope everyone else ok today, p'ing it down here and I really really need to get to the bank.

LittleMissNorty · 04/12/2008 09:06

Morning

You're brave LBB taking the sides of DSs cot down....I've bought a second cot for the new LO as I can't face DD being able to get up and about (she's 18 months). Luckily she's not a climber and just stands in her cot.....I mostly have to wake her up as well....she likes her sleep!

Hope DS improves soon - and you don't catch it!

Roll on mat leave.....I am SO tired...

littleboyblue · 04/12/2008 09:08

Thanx LMN

KT1983 · 04/12/2008 09:14

Morning all,

Hows everyone doing today?

I slept pretty well last night - Only had to get up for a wee twice!! Usually about 4 times a night, so I was very pleased oh the small things...

Little bit annoyed that baby seems to have turned back breech again - I can once again feel her kicking my bits - Its a horrible feeling.
Think I need to start cleaning skirting boards & floors more often - Get her in the right position again.
I really hope she turns back again....and Soon

MarkStretch · 04/12/2008 09:38

I slept badly, I just couldn't get comfy.

I think I need another pillow under my bump to take the strain!

However, today I have discarded the underwired bras and I'm wearing a huge maternity bra kindly given to me by a friend.

I've got tits like an old washer woman but my god it's comfortable not having the underwiring digging in the top of my bump

Talkign of Bras - Where can I get some decent priced & comfy nursing bras?
Should I wait until right up until DueDate before bying them? As I guess my boobs are going to keep growing at a rate of knots!

swampster · 04/12/2008 10:12

...

swampster · 04/12/2008 10:12

good moaning all

Questionkid · 04/12/2008 10:35

Morning all,

Loving the smiley-fest Swampy.

I had to give up on underwired bras a while ago, now I just wear them on special occasions! I got a pack of 2 nursing bras from M&S a couple of weeks ago (they were either £20 or £25 for 2) and am hoping they'll do me up until baby arrives. A friend of mine told me not to buy many at all, as she said when her milk came in her boobs got huge and she had to go straight out and buy bigger ones when she got out of hospital. So I guess the advice is to manage on as few as possible until you know what your size is once the baby has come?

KT1983 · 04/12/2008 10:39

Thanks QK - Il take a trip to M&S later....Seen as they are having 20% off today aswell

MarkStretch · 04/12/2008 10:45

Yes I only have 2 maternity bras and will make do with those.

Will wait to buy nursing bras as they can be pricey but M&S seems to be the place to go.

swampster · 04/12/2008 11:03

If you don't mind being bound in Lycra, Carriwell does vesty-pull-on maternity bras in just three sizes they are soooooooo stretchy. I find them pretty comfy if not particularly sexy.

dinkystinky · 04/12/2008 11:12

Morning all .

Lardy - welcome back! We've done a re-edit of the due date list (starting from scratch again) over the past few weeks (scroll back down - think Pinkbabybump last updated it) so you may want to copy, paste and bung your details back in. Glad to hear all good with your DP at the moment - despite the overwork and money worries... I get the twins comments too - just smile and say "no, just one very big baby"

KT - sorry little one has turned breach again ; try TBM's tip about the ice on your tummy and polar bear position and that might encourage her into a position that's more comfortable for you.

MOS - sorry little DD is still so poorly ; I swear by manuka honey (or any really thick honey) by the spoonful for DS when he has a horrid cough - seems to calm him down for a couple of hours so he can grab some sleep, and Medised at night times too seems to help. You must be shattered and counting down the days till DH gets back - only 15 or so to go! Sorry to hear your little boy is still ill LBB - between you and your constant infection and your little one and his constant cold, sounds like a bit of a sickly house round yours at the moment. Definitely agree with not taking the cot side off till you feel ready (emotionally and physically - which you wont right now with that sleep deprivation going on!). FWIW, we took the cot side down on DS's cot for several weeks when we first moved his big boy bed in there and he was fine (only escaped from cot about 4 times and was found sleeping on the rug on his floor - or under the cot - in the morning) and the move to his big boy bed (using the Gro-bag first duvet to zip him in) has been really good so far - touch wood.

Re Bras - ladies with large boobs, Bravissimo is the way forward (if you're in london, they have stores in Covent Garden, Oxford Circus and Ealing I think, plus some others around the country and do mail order). Wouldnt advise getting your nursing bras before 37 weeks as your boobs really do grow in those last few weeks and any you get before then wont do the trick. Top tip I got from the fitter at Bravissimo last week you're buying bras now, go for soft cup ones with plenty of space to expand out around the chest and a little bit of space in the cups as believe me, you will fill it.. M&S do nice soft cup ones (particularly like their soft cup stretchy sports bra ones, which would be handy for you KT with all those classes you have to teach)

PinkTulips · 04/12/2008 11:37

morning all... haven't been on in days. dp has pneumonia so is camped in front of the pc all day long and i don't get a look in!

have been entertaining myself by painting the baby's room

it's weird, this is my third but it's the first time i've ever had a baby room to get ready (albeit a room that dp's work pc will be sharing for a while ) painted it a lovely warm orangy colour, pain in the ass though as the ceiling is vaulted to double height and even using a step ladder i can't quite reach the top of the peaks so had to tape a paintbrush to a stick to get the tops.... not the neatest job but at least it's better than magnolia!

ds and dd have demanded i do their room next so i'll be busy for the next few weeks!

he's just stumbled back in so guess that's me booted off the pc [sigh] i'll try and catch up later, hope every one is ok and all babies are still firmly in place.

KT1983 · 04/12/2008 11:39

Hi Dinky,

Yeah I did the Polar bear thing this morning. Im going to do it again tonight & keep persisting until she gets the hint

Ive been living in Sports bras for the last few months as they seem to be the most comfy and supportive - not particulary attractive...But glamour has gone well out the window since day 1 of pregnancy in my household

KT1983 · 04/12/2008 11:42

Hi PinkTulips,

Hope your DP is ok? Sounds a bit nasty
Well done on the deocrating front - I wish I had a room to get organised for the baby, would make it so much more real I think.
Just becareful up those stepladders!
