spotty, i found the downward pressure feeling started an awful lot earlier with my second and has started even earlier again this time round (yay ). i don't think it's necessarily a sign anything is happening, just that babies head is down and pressing on the cervix which has nothing to do with the cervix dilating.

hope the dodgy tum eases for you though

littleboyblue · 21/11/2008 19:22

I'm about to share TMI, but like you spotty, despite being a second timer, I've had one or two panics. Woken up in the night with such severe cramping and pains through lower back like I had with ds, then in the bathroom nothing short of 4 times in the hour and thought about the evacuation thing too.
Like MoS says, you'd know if you were in labour but maybe tomorrow give someone a call just to get checked out to be on safe side

MarkStretch · 21/11/2008 19:56

Hi all.

Just popping in. Hope you're ok spotty.

Went to hypnobirthing last night, was ok but couldn't fully relax. Lots of anxieties about last time have resurfaced and I'm starting to panic about it all.

On the plus side DH and I are enjoying our time together while dd is away. Hopefully a big fat lie in for us tomorrow morning, all cosy in bed while there is snow outside!

I know i went a bit mad there didnt i! having one of those days, No biggy just missing my hubby as he is workin g 24 7 at the mo and on my own loads with only heartburn and pain under ribs, having a good cry feeling right sorry for myself!

dont mind being fussed over but i do mind the constant ooooh arent you getting big! i know people are talking about the bump but still.

looking at my post Its such a rant! made me laugh too

littleboyblue · 21/11/2008 20:05

My dp is working loads too, just thinking about the money.
MarkStretch, so jealous of you being able to lay in. I booked a lay in for sunday but dp has just said he's working thinking of packing ds off to my mums!

littleboyblue · 21/11/2008 23:43

Where is everyone tonight? Am I the only one stuck indoors wishing she could go out and smoke loads and drink loads?

littleboyblue · 21/11/2008 23:47

"All by myself, don't wanna be, all by myself, anymore"

Going to bed then.
Goodnight

spottyshoes · 22/11/2008 07:12

Aww LBB sorry we weren't around last night - we were all actually out smoking and drinking loads

I have times like that on here, If I have an early night I miss 100's posts yet can be up for a banter and no-one is around!!

DS is still asleep which is unusual and I am as his brother/sister kept me up all night with the BH's

Happy weekend everyone

spottyshoes · 22/11/2008 07:29

It would seem that TBM has had a busy night again bless her - message on FB
xxx

littleboyblue · 22/11/2008 08:07

Morning. Very boring on MN last night. I ended up adding to a thread intitled how many lovers have you had, and what song do you want played at your funeral

mumoverseas · 22/11/2008 08:09

morning all, you ok this morning spotty?
can't believe how cold it is here today! (not helped by the fact that no so DS appeared to have turned the heating off last night!) bet its nice and warm in Riyadh!

littleboyblue · 22/11/2008 08:24

Oh yes, completely forgot how are you feeling today spotty?

KT1983 · 22/11/2008 08:55

Morning all,

Went to Scan yesterday afternoon...Baby is a bit small for dates....apparently been a drop in measurments on her tummy - so they are going to Scan me again in 3weeks time so see if they have gone up a bit.
The sonographer didnt seem too worried, so im sure she is fine, they just want to keep an eye on her.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend...Im going to try & brave Lakeside shopping centre today for some Crimbo shopping

KT1983 · 22/11/2008 09:00

Just done a rough catchup...Hope your ok spotty? {smile]

mumoverseas · 22/11/2008 09:07

morning KT, glad all went Ok(ish). Like you say, if the sonographer didn't seem to worried that is a good sign.
Lakeside on a Saturay? Rather you than me! Enjoy!
BTW, I was so chuffed when I thought I'd done all my xmas shopping (and smug!) but I've just realised I haven't as I signed up to buy 3 presents (one from each of my kids) for the mumsnet secret santa christmas donation appeal! Am still waiting to be told what ages/sex to buy for. Bugger!

spottyshoes · 22/11/2008 09:15

Glad she is ok KT. Measurements go up and down every week, you may find she's a little chubster by your next scan Enjoy your shopping.

Gorgeous sunshine here but I'm sure it's cold with it - haven't ventured outside yet. Think of your british blessings MOS - It may be warm in Riyadh but there is no bacon

I'm ok thanks guys, BH still going strong approx every 15 mins but no further erm 'evacuation' (sorry to those having brekkie!) so most likely just something I ate. Forgot to say thanks for your post earlier PT, it was very reassuring

MarkStretch · 22/11/2008 10:11

There's snow at my house!

And I'm still in bed drinking tea and eating mince pies.

Just hope dd's flight home tomorrow doesn't get cancelled.

MarkStretch · 22/11/2008 10:12

Hope you're ok spotty- did you ring the midwife?

OP posts:
mslucy · 22/11/2008 11:29

Morning all.

Glad your scan went OK KT. I have to go back to hosp on Mon to have another blood test - they didn't get an accurate reading of my platelets (whatever they are). I called yesterday and it's not life threatening, so that's enough for me.

Fraid I didn't get to bed at 8:30 (more like 11) but feel much better as DS slept in until 6:30 - though he was wandering round at 1:30 trying to get into our bed.

I steered him back into his own bed and gave him a hug. That seemed to do the trick.

DH is taking him out this afternoon so I can recuperate a little bit - hurrah!

btw have posted adorable photo of DS on fb. His hair needs a cut but he looks very, very cute.

MarkStretch · 22/11/2008 15:42

Hellllooooooooooo......

Is everyone ok?

Here's hoping you're all not here because you're doing lovely things with your families..

Just seen TBM's message on FB, hope she's hanging on in there.

OP posts:
laidbackinengland · 22/11/2008 16:00

I'm here MS. It's quiet without swampy and Mrsy - I hope they are both OK. I couldn't see TBM message on facebook - but I hope they are all OK. She is over 30 weeks now I think .

It's really chilly here, but no snow; it tends not to snow too much as we are by the coast.

I have my parents and neice here this weekend , plus 2 of DS1's friends sleeping round for his borthday. Have just made (another) birthday cake.

Trying to motivate myself to do some more online christmas shopping.

MarkStretch · 22/11/2008 16:22

I've made apple crumble and cleaned out dd's room.

It's so much easier to throw out the plastic crap when she's not peering over my shoulder wailing 'but I loooove that'.

She now has organised books and toys and you can see the floor.

It's snowed loads here today. We keep having little blizzards which cover the garden in 5 minutes flat. I love it.

TBM's message said she had gone in to hosp and was being monitored on a ward. I hope she's ok, but like you say I think she's over 30 weeks now so baby stands a fighting chance.

OP posts:
laidbackinengland · 22/11/2008 16:30

I hope all is well at hospital with TBM.

Send some snow this way !

I was equally cunning when DS2 was at school last week. I like him to clear some space before Christmas as other people always buy so much. So I told him father Christmas had been around and gathered up some of his old things for children who don't have very much to give them for Christmas. I then sent
him a Charlie and Lola sticker book and a thankyou card from Santa. He was very pleased

mumoverseas · 22/11/2008 16:35

I'm here too! Currently craving apple crumble and birthday cake!
hope swampy, mrsy and TBM are ok.
Snow sounds nice, hope we get some whilst I'm in the country, DD has never seen it!

spottyshoes · 22/11/2008 17:02

Very of those with snow - send some a few miles further up would you MS!

Seeing as you are all domestic goddesses I was wondering if you guys could help me out with recipe dilemma? I ordered a massive mixed pack of Lamb the other days and have ideas for 90% of it, just stuck on these bits....
