littleboyblue · 22/11/2008 17:13

Hi. Just checking in as won't be on later. X-Factor all night, we do the whole X-Factor Xtra too. I'm even gonna have a glass of wine as it's saturday.

Afraid I can't help with recipe Spotty as I must be the most undomesticated person in the world!!

spottyshoes · 22/11/2008 17:15

Thanks anyway LBB

Enjoy X.F - We'll be joining you and do strictly too! How sad have Saturday night become but I secretly love it!

littleboyblue · 22/11/2008 17:18

We don't do strictly, there's only so much reality tv I can take. I love X.F and Britais Got Talent. I watch BB everyother year and that's about it.
We went to see the Britains Got Talent tour thing the one just gone. It was really good. That was the last night out I had before we discovered we were preg. Wish I had more to dfrink.
Am I making myself sound like a huge wino?
Good

mumoverseas · 22/11/2008 17:28

sorry can't help spotty, we are not allowed to eat lamb in our house (DD1 used to have a pet lamb so its a no go!) - saying that, I had a chef special kebab for lunch which was lamb but told her it was chicken!)
very excited as DH flying back from Saudi overnight tonight and should be back at our house by around 8am. (please don't snow on LHW!) Its only been a week but have missed him so much and really appreciate now how much he does with DD2 (aged 2) who is suddenly very high maintenance! He is only back on business for 3 days but it will be nice. We don't get any of the reality tv in KSA so will have to try and catch up on some whilst here

MarkStretch · 22/11/2008 18:58

Evening.

I had a short lived trip to the pub. DH really wanted me to go with him to watch the football, I think he's proud of my bump and wants to show it off. The pub was really packed and I couldn't see the screen, can't drink vast quantities of beer and DH was busily chatting to his friends so I've come home to watch Strictly and will pick him up in a bit.

It's so cold here that in the hour I was in the pub my car had frozen already! Brrrrr...

I was going to suggest Moroccan lamb spotty. Or otherwise bung it in the freezer while you think of a good use for it

On the subject of food, is anyone else feeling full really quickly now? The baby seems to sit so high up under my ribs there's no room for dinner!

herbgarden · 22/11/2008 19:37

Hi all
It's freeeezing here today too but no snow and the electrician has been in most of the day with the back door open so I've had my coat on! Brrrrr. But, I now have lots of sockets. Dh has kicked his arse into gear and has bought shelving and laminate for this funny little workshop thing off our garage(full electrics and heating and would make great playroom/study until we (one day)do our renovations.).....he seems to think he's going to lay it tomorrow so we're really getting organised.

My m-in-law does a slow roasted lamb with redcurrant jelly and stock and it is really delicious - you do have to cook it a long time though. What's not helpful is that I don't have the recipe. I do the Jamie O lamb shank recipe with white wine veggies anchovies tomatoes which might work with other cuts too ? It makes a lovely rich sauce and the meat falls off the bone.

I've cooked lots of casseroles the last few days for the freezer and they are my faves in winter - most have some sort of carrot/onion/celery base as I had them all in the fridge. With mashed pots - yum yum. We're having a curry takeaway tonight - I chose a hopefully not too spicy non-heartburn inducing one...

Just watched john sergeants russian partner shedding tears on Strictly. Ah how sweet- I half thought he might announce he was going to marry her !!......mean I know but... We're now onto x factor and Take That night. Hurray !

TinkerBellesMum · 22/11/2008 20:06

I?m back, it all stopped over night and they let me go quite early. I got to 2 minutes and they were really strong, we really thought this was it especially when I tested positive for fibronectin. TBD cancelled his trip to London with Tink to see the boys. I?m rather annoyed with the hospital though because they told me I shouldn?t come in if it?s happening less than every 5 minutes (VERY TWO MINUTES ? HELLO???) and I shouldn?t come in unless I have a show or my waters break (?it?s never happened before? ?but all pregnancies are different?). So now I?m planning to BBA my baby! I?m thinking that with what they?ve told me, and the hassle, it might be easier! I?m 30 weeks tomorrow and been targeting then for the earliest I would be happy to have this baby, next target is 4th December which will be Tink?s gestation, anything after that will be a bonus.

Littlesez, to accept your mother gave birth to you and you weren?t delivered by the stork means you have to accept your parents have sex. I?m sure it explains a lot about some people?s attitudes!

LBB I wish people would ask me if they?re walking too fast! I keep having to keep tracks of TBD because he refuses to walk at my speed (doesn?t get him anywhere quicker though).

Ah, PT it?s all your fault I see, quiet and unexciting indeed!

dinkystinky · 22/11/2008 20:09

Quick check in from Brighton - KT, is good news the sonographer wasnt worried; and Spotty is right, the little one may pack on the pounds between now and the next scan.

Spotty - Ive been getting lots of braxton hicks too this pregnancy - especially when dont drink enough fluids or overdo it on the exercise front (for example, spent 5 hours walking today around Brighton and am now braxton hicking away for england!) Hope all ok with you. There are also lots of d&v bugs going around at the moment so may be the reason for your dodgy tum.

No snow yet here in Brighton though definitely feels cold enough for it - maybe Questionkid will see the whitestuff after all.

Hope TBM is ok.

spottyshoes · 22/11/2008 20:31

thanks for the ideas ladies, general consensus seems to be slooow cooking then.

Can be bloody painful cant they Dinky. Hope yours ease up and you take it easy a bit! 5 hrs???!! I get them after 5 steps

Glad you are back with us TBM and tink2 is still in there!

littleboyblue · 23/11/2008 08:10

Glad everything ok for now TBM My friend was aiming for 30wks too, she's now 34 and it's happening in the next 2 weeks they've told her (!st ds born at 29wks, 2nd ds at 25 wks).
"What does I'm planning to BBA my baby" mean?

So glad Rachel went on X Factor last night.

It's doing the horrible snow here. Better stop by 10, have to go Tescos for a chicken.

Gave dp the ump last night coz I refused to have sex. It really hurts me and he doesn't seem to care the thoughtless w**ker

KT1983 · 23/11/2008 09:03

Me too LBB - I really didnt like Rachel...She certainly did NOT have the xfactor!
I was hoping Laura would win...but my second fav is Alexarnra.

We have quite alot of snow here too - Weird, as it hardly ever snows in London.
My mum lives in the Lake District & apparently is like a blizzard up there!

My DP has stopped trying with me on the whole sex thing...I feel bad sometimes, but it is very uncomfortable - Wish I was one of them women whos sex drive goes trhough the roof when there pregnant

Anyways...have a great Sunday all, im off to attempt a little bit more crimbo shopping as Lakeside was VERY unsuccessful yesterday.

littleboyblue · 23/11/2008 10:10

Goodluck with it KT.
We had little bit of drizzly sno this morning, but nothing now and it's so cold. I've got to go shop and don't wanna take ds out really. Nevermind.
My sex drive with ds was sky high, we continued at least once a day (maybe had something to do with the fact we'd only been together 3 months).
This baby rams his feet so far into my rib cage and I get all those tightening feelings and sometimes I'm crying halfway through and he has to stop anyway so what's the point. It really annoyed me.
He's at work all day, so won't have to look at him til later.

spottyshoes · 23/11/2008 11:46

What an arse! Hope he does lots of flowers and grovelling when he gets home. We have a sex ban during pg which is actually DH's suggestion - suits me fine

Lots of snow here this morning and I had to drive down the bypass to baby-swim which was a bit scary! Glad I'm back inside with hot choccy and central heating.

Roast Lamb for me later - yum. Have a good Sunday x

PinkTulips · 23/11/2008 11:51

sorry TBM, i did seem to jinx you a wee bit with that comment didn't i? glad all is well for the time being... can't believe the hospital still aren't taking you 110% seriously after your previous births i think i'd be camped on the hospital doorsteps with you history!

had a miserable weekend here, one of my kittens got himself hit by a car on friday evening. he was a little late back for his dinner so i went looking and found him dead on the road, he must have been hit just moments before. i'm devestated, scruffy was the one that i found on the doorstep the day his mother moved them in and ever since that moment we had a bond, he was my little shadow and he loved nothing better than climbing up on myself or the kids for cuddles, he was known to break into the kids bedroom to cuddle up to them and not an evening went by that he didn't curl up on my lap.

his brother is completely lost without him as well and it's quite sad..... he really doesn't sem to know what to do with himself. scruffy was the bigger of the pair and looked after him and was always up for a play.

stupid hormones have me in such a state i can't stop sobbing and the kids are missing him badly so it's a barrel of laughs here this weekend.

sorry the sex lives have ground to a halt KT and LBB.... on the plus side think how much fun it's going to be after the baby is born to 'rediscover' each other. i went off sex with dd and although it didn't happen instantaneously after her birth, when we did get back into the swing of things it was so much fun and it seemed better than before.

littleboyblue · 23/11/2008 11:58

PT How awful about your kitten

spottyshoes · 23/11/2008 12:12

(((PT))))

PinkTulips · 23/11/2008 12:18

the crazy thing is at that time of the evening on that road there's maybe one car every 5/10 mins..... how he had the bloody rotten luck to get hit is beyond me. and he's never ventured further than one door down before so why he decided to go through the garden behind us, over the wall and across the road at that time of night is another mystery.

PinkTulips · 23/11/2008 12:20

thanks LBB and spotty.

herbgarden · 23/11/2008 13:07

Poor Scruffy....maybe he got a bit lost out there. Not surprised you are sobbing and it's horrid for the kids. They'll have to give lots of love and cuddles to his brother.

TBM - glad you're out of hospital and that baby Tink is still choosing to stay inside. Seems an odd thing for the hospital to say to you given your past history.

No sex in this household either.....we've had a ban since pregnancy started and I'm fine by it - at least DH doesn't mind and I'm not having to refuse !

Been to an indoor softplay this morning with ds as dh was golfing and it's snowed overnight and is freezing cold and now raining. I managed to find things he could do which allowed me to sit on the floor making encouraging comments. I usually go when it first opens when the parents with pre-schoolers are there - the rest of the world, with kids who lie in are arriving as I leave !

Off to meet my sisters mother -in-law to be this afternoon. She's stopping in at my parents for "tea" - eeks ! - I'm going to take ds so that at least if everyone isn't getting on that he might lighten the atmosphere (they've never met before). Plus my mum is making cake and choccie brownies. The wedding is next July and I'm a bridesmaid so goodness knows how I'm going to get a dress bought/made as it's only 4 months after baby is born - have no idea what size I'll be by then (or maybe an incentive to get that weight off ?!) - ds is being a page boy he'll be just 3 - could be cute/could be a nightmare .
Bye for now

KT1983 · 23/11/2008 14:34

Back from the shopping expedition...wasnt great!
i think the rest of my crimbo shopping is going to be online

I get paranoid about people bumping into my belly, ive become quite protective over my little bump lately.

I also went into Boots & bought yet another tub of bio oil...and ive only gone and left it on the shop counter...called up & no one has it. Great!

Has anyone actually found a product that works with stretchmarks yet?? Or is it just genetics?

KT1983 · 23/11/2008 14:35

Sorry about your Kitten PinkTlips

littleboyblue · 23/11/2008 15:55

Hey KT, I didn't use anything for stretch marks so am now covered in fading red squiggly lines all over belly, can't even tell if there are new ones. Doubt it. Definately think it's all down to skin elasticity, I've never been a huge believer in creams and stuff.
I get worried about people bumping into me too in busy places almost wanna shout "pregnant lady coming through" but never do......
There's a lot of protection there so it'd have to be a major knock to do anything.

Just got a call from dp saying he'll be late home from work. Do you think he went and found a new girlfriend to have sex with?
Shouldn't joke about it really coz that's an awful thing to happen, but sometimes can't help but think it'd be easier

mumoverseas · 23/11/2008 17:11

PT - so sorry to hear about scruffy. I've been there and it is so awful. In fact I was pregnant with my DS (now 15!) when my first cat was killed and a neighbour came to the door with him. I was hysterical and devestated for ages. I hope that the kids are able to come to terms with it. It really is difficult isn't it.

LBB - crazy woman, don't start thinking things like that, I'm sure he is working late (maybe out buying you a crimbo pressie?)

Hope everyone else is ok and having a nice sunday x

Well at least it would be if I had the energy!!
I keep getting out bid for bedside cribs on ebay!!!!!!!! The only ones you can buy at the moment cost £225 new and I just can't justify that kind of money for DC2 when it will only last for 6 months(ish). Don't need anything bigger as have Cotbed which will be moving DS out of shortly...
GRRR ebay so annoying!!!
