LazyLinePainterJane sending you labour vibes - hope you do it naturally - I went over with my second - they say that girls are always late but that could be an old wives tale!!!

hanaflower am not due to the 27th November and have decided that I would be best to wait until dh comes home (he's in the Navy) but am feeling a bit peculiar today so not sure I am going to last much longer - tightenings are coming a little more frequent then I would like???? So we will see????

Sparkletoes you are a trooper - I'm in complete awe that you managed to do it without any pain relief.. what a beautiful name that was on our short list but have gone with something else instead!!!

Any news from Monkey yet?

chocolategal · 18/11/2008 11:01

just popping in quickly, hello to everyone!

according to FB monkey has had her baby, we might hear from merrymarrigold today if she has heard anything.

thats a great "to do" list hana, i might work my way through them as still no signs of baby here!

ceebee74 · 18/11/2008 11:13

Just had a look on FB aswell - not much info other than Baby Monkey has arrived

Hana love that list - will make sure I do at least 2 of those before Thursday! So far have spent the morning surfing the net and chatting to my mum on the phone for an hour

Twinkle ooh, when is your DH due home? Really hope the baby holds out for him but I guess babies don't work to timetables do they??

Tinkerisdead · 18/11/2008 11:29

morning all, sparkle a huge congrats on baby Roan i wont pretend that im not slumped over PC that i have no baby yet! amazing achievement getting such a whopper out, you're my idol. i'll try to focus on that if i ever make it into my birth pool!
i was sure it was gonna be yesterday, midwife came, blood pressure the same and wants me to get monitored at hospital on weds. I started feeling really heavy downbelow and went walking etc but nothing. im not even having braxton hicks anymore. my bump actually feels normal like this is my new body and so im getting less and less hopeful that a) there's a baby inm there and b) it'll ever come out.

Im not bothering with remedies today as im just getting more upset when they dont work so today im gonna sit in my nightie and watch christmas films!

sparkletoes · 18/11/2008 11:31

Hi again all!

Just rushing on to catch up before MW appears.

Thanks to all of you for more good wishes! Right back at you!

Ceebee DS1 has been not as bad as I thought with his baby brother. On Sun am when we got home after they checked me out he was awake in bed and singing 'happy birthday to you'!! He must have known that later that day it would become his brother's birthday!

He does have a terrible cold tho just now so is up in night and clingy because of that anyway. Think it will take a week or so to see how he really feels about all this. However my M&D did a great job of preparing him for meeting DS2 at the hospital (they had a picture of Roan and were drumming it into him that this was his baby brother). The presents also helped smooth the relationship!

Never know Daisy we may well be distantly related then!

According to FB Monkey has a had a girl

MerryMarigold · 18/11/2008 12:12

Announcement belatedly: I txtd Monkey today and she replied to say dh sent me a text! I didn't get it though.
"Baby girl born Monday 12.20am on Monday 7lb 11oz. Name tbc. Congrats to sparkle on whopper baby!"

ChocO, I checked FB this am but didn't see the girl bit...looking with my nose as my Mum would say.

Oblomov · 18/11/2008 12:23

Congratulations MonkeyM

Congratulations Sparkle

fourlittlefeet · 18/11/2008 12:26

Nice one Monkey... well done and looking forward to hearing the details (skips off back to Jan 09 thread)

Oblomov · 18/11/2008 12:38

Oh and I don't think I said Congratulations to Suiledonn

Thanks to Ceebee, for giving us the latest pending list.
Come on ladies. Good vibes and hugs to all you 'stragglers', , who I apprecite are DESPERATE to welcome your littel ones, and be on the PN thread, and off this AN thread.

Come on babies. Come on you little poppets. Come on out. We are waiting for you.
Oh dear that doesn't sound very inviting, does it. Where is Misdee, when you need one of her, endearing 'get them out' welcome's ?

twinkle183 · 18/11/2008 12:49

thedoctorswife it'll happen for you - your just making such a nice home for him/her that it doesn't want to come out!!!

ceebee he is due home Friday - so am just hoping to hold on until then, if I do then am hoping he'll do me a favour , if you know what I mean!!!!!

Oh congrats to monkey if the rumours are true and she has had hers....

I really wish these tightenings would progress in to something like a show - but nothing yet.. they are just so uncomfortable not painful - just so annoying! Is anyone else experiencing anything like this?

Yorky · 18/11/2008 13:01

You and me both twinkle - with DS it just happened, I hadn't been aware of a single BH, now I've been having tightenings for over a week and am bored of them!
Am I allowed to ask where he is away and how long he'll be back for? DH is here till Tues, then away for another fortnight until we move!
I want a baby!

hana Saggitarians are the best, you know!

Well done sparkletoes lovely name.

Congratulations monkey hope all went well!

barbareebaa · 18/11/2008 13:29

hello all!
Congratulations to Monkey!!

Yorky the thread was in the pregnancy topic called 'What happens if you have a slow water leak at 33+ weeks' A couple of the posts made me wonder if that's what I'd been experiencing but perhaps just normal discharge increase to do with hormones?? Doesn't take a lot to get me fretting

hanaflower glad to hear all is fine and baby is head down and that they are keeping an eye on you re: fluid. When does Sagittarius start?? I never considered my lo would be a sag - just assumed he would be here before then!! maybe he'll be a cusp!

Well am 41 weeks today. Got up and made dh breakfast and pack up and planned to go back to bed for the rest of the morning a nap. But didn't happen as a man has been hitting something outside my bedroom window ALL MORNING!! So I did housework thinking I'd nap this afternoon but he is still hammering and I'm soooooo tired Go away man!!

ceebee74 · 18/11/2008 14:47

Congratulations to Monkey on the arrival of baby Monkey - am guessing Cecily may not be on the list anymore??

Twinkle not long to wait for your DH then - it would be a shame if he missed it. I am also getting tightenings, particularly if I am walking somewhere - not at all painful but it makes it bloody uncomfortable to carry on walking!

I can't believe we are only on 18th Nov and there are so few of us left

Hana glad everything is ok with the baby and they are head-down. Hopefully you won't need the scan on Monday as baby will have arrived by then?????

Right, just had a lovely 2-hour nap (sorry Barbs ) and now off to tackle the spare room and pack my work maternity gear and stuff from last time that I know I won't need again! Does anyone know if charity shops take/have a need for maternity wear?

twinkle183 · 18/11/2008 15:11

Yorky would love to tell you where he has been but I don't even know... this time he has been away for a month and then next year he is on a mammoth trip for 8 months... hes flies the merlin helicopter - the sane on that hangs on the winch wire... is yours in the services???

I am hopeful that he will be here, he missed ds cos he was in the Falkland Islands but managed to be here for dd! He just makes me so calm!!!!

I am so glad that I am not the only one experiencing these tightenings.... they are just so annoying

chocolategal · 18/11/2008 15:29

congratulations to monkey and baby monkey
looking forward to hearing if she managed her HB.

hana glad you got the all clear today and fingers crossed you wont need that sweep on monday.
my baby isnt engaged yet either......hmph hmph!

hello to everyone else....not many of us left

LackaDAISYcal · 18/11/2008 16:12

Yay for monkey and her little baby monkey

congratulations and can't wait to hear your birth story

Rest up while you can ladies.......you never know when you'll get another decent kip once the babies arrive . And I'm speaking from personal experience sadly.

After our lovely calm evening my boy was up all bloody night, groaning and writhing in pain with his tummy . DH and I had two hours sleep each, so it has been a bit fraught here today.

We went into town though and I chose my sparkly thing, tis very sparkly indeed . Will be ready for collection next Wednesday.......now I just have to get my engagement ring off!!!! It's still stuck fast

Tinkerisdead · 18/11/2008 16:13

Congrats to monkey and her baby girl. Ive cleaned my whole house, had a shower, trimmed by lady garden as a good luck omen, actually put makeup on for the first time in weeks and when DH comes in, im gonna demand to be taken for dinner. i am certain that my waters will no doubt break if i am in a posh restaurant wearing decent clothes and a full face on! mind you i fancy a massive steak so maybe i'll go to the harvester and that prob doesnt count as posh restaurant to tempt my waters!

LadyBuzz · 18/11/2008 16:22

Congratulations Monkey hope all went well.
Waves to everyone else

Oblomov · 18/11/2008 16:41

LOL at Ceebee's comment.
Yes, it is only the 18th. If we had done things 'properly', there would be atleast a 1/4 of us left, waiting to give birth.

Alot of us did do things 'early', didn't we.

We might be all done by the 20th - JOKE.

I think not. We need atleast one person to hang out until the last week of november.

We can't change our names to the 'nipped into October An thread can we' ?

Seriously ladies, I appreciate you all are fed up of being preganant now, but your 'right' time is still to come.

We are here to support you.

Lots of love.

Yorky · 18/11/2008 16:51

RAF here, hence move and Mon-Fri absence, he got back from States 3 days before DS arrived!

Mmmm, big steak. I like your plan Drs wife, and you've certainly been busy earning it!

Love the sparkly idea Lacka, sorry he isn't sleeping well though.

fourlittlefeet · 18/11/2008 20:33

Monkey has gone for Cecily . What a lovely name. Don't think she'll mind me posting this as its where I found out the news.

Pinkyminkee · 18/11/2008 20:35

Barbs I'm sagittarius (as you prolly guessed)and I'm dec4 so it must go 22Nov so a good chance of some sagittarian babies! I only just didn't have two Librans- though they do look like a very good sign so it may havve been a good thing.

Enjoy your steak, Drswife!
