Soz - lady bits - not lazy bits!

ruthosaurus · 03/11/2008 15:31

Yay Autumnlady! Bless to her and baby James [gri n]

Btw, my friend with the carpal tunnel syndrome has come up with an idea for getting waters to break - we go and bounce up and down on the more expensice beds in John Lewis! She told me off for getting a mattress protector as that was bound to jinx it.

We're sleeping in what's going to be our baby's nursery. It's full of laundry, me and pregnancy books, none of which even mention slow labour or SPD.

MM, with you on the plasma - are we talking the big bits that kind of look like the snot you get when you've been having a really good cry? Sorry if that is a TMI Q... Also, how is your insomnia at the mo'?

Tinkerisdead · 03/11/2008 15:34

autumnlady congrats on baby James...i love all the baby announcements. im starting to think there is more people on here with babies than without now, we're only on 3rd nov and feels like all the babies are here already!!! i just know i'll be going to the dec thread saying ive run over can i join please?

MonkeyMargot · 03/11/2008 15:35

Rutho Never TMI here! Yes to the plasma question. Got the first lump last night and more today. No blood though. It's not like anything I've seen before . Insomnia has been ok last 2 nights (fingers crossed). How much sleep are you getting? You must be knackered after all you've been going through.

ruthosaurus · 03/11/2008 15:38

DW I'll be there with you, believe me! I have just looked up slow labour on tinternet and found labour this which, while it offers no solutions, did reassure me that I am not a freak of nature who will be exhibited up and down the country in a travelling sideshow...

Still, I think calling my current state of mind "empowered" would be overegging it a bit.

Tinkerisdead · 03/11/2008 15:40

im logging off as im gonna try a little sleep and another pointless tablet. def got a cold coming, sore throat and no energy. good luck to anyone who actually gets a baby in the night, i'll be back in the morning unless these tablets take effect then i'll log back in for a live birth thread (dreaming)

ruthosaurus · 03/11/2008 15:42

MM, love, I am almost to tired to swear! And I notice you are not your usual street self either. I have the same goo (nice, eh?) which I was just too chicken to show to my mw on Friday but will be saving up to show her when I see her on Thursday morning for my 39 week appointment. As I will still be pregnant by then. I really really wish she hadn't told me to expect a weekend baby, but then maybe she meant this weekend coming...

God I am getting sick of these contractions, though. Imagine if a baby's head suddenly appeared, that would be most odd.

ruthosaurus · 03/11/2008 15:44

Night night, DW, hope your baby surprises you in the night!

I am going to try and make tea, still batch cooking like a nutter when I can. Or I may just eat a Wispa and lie down.

MonkeyMargot · 03/11/2008 15:49

Rutho I guess you need to find a way of coping with what might be a long week (or two) ahead. How are you sleeping? You must rest, rest, rest as this might go on for another week or more (hopefully not).

cricri · 03/11/2008 16:10

Congratulations to Autumnlady Another baby! I've had no news from Ladybuzz yet, hope all is OK.
Just back from hospital for monitoring - all is well and... I've managed to get to 4cm dilation and 75% cervix effacement somehow The registrar was ready to whip me up to the labour ward there and then! Told him I was having a home delivery and got the hell out of there! Baby better come quickly because they've booked me for an induction at 9am tomorrow if not. Hopefully it won't come to that. I was surprised because the trace only registered one contraction during the half hour I was being monitored which is weird. Mw on her way so hopefully she'll be able to explain. Doula is on standby. DH will be able to start filling the pool as soon as he gets in
Heartmum Hope the sweep went well and triggers something for you.
DW Hope the caullophylum starts working very soon.
Hugs to everybody else getting fed up and having to deal with stupid people asking if the baby has arrived yet

ruthosaurus · 03/11/2008 16:14

MM I am not sleeping too great but I also can't lie around like a baleen whale for the next 2 weeks! So tonight I am making curry and going shopping and on Thursday I am going to Ikea with MIL (not the mad one) to get my Poang chair, nursing for the uses of! With a bit of luck will have a bedroom to put it in then.

misdee · 03/11/2008 16:16

congrations on our new baby(babies?) and good luck overnight cricri.

i am still miserable and fed up, despite dh 'helping' this afternoon in attempts to get things moving and sleeping for a couple of hours.

ruthosaurus · 03/11/2008 16:18

Yay Cricri! Am suitably chuffed for you and of course disgustingly in a supportive way...

Can'#t wait to hear your baby news and will be checking MN on an even more regular basis. But will not ask any stupid questions.

Anyone heard from Mum2becks? She was due on 1st and is my text buddy, but not a squeak! Hope she is alright.

Misdee, we did that too, this morning, or rather he did and I was more or less there, looking non-alluring Hope it works for you in more ways than 1.

ChocOrange05 · 03/11/2008 16:22

Congrats to AutumnLady!

Any news from LadyBuzz??

Thanks Monkey and Saurus for my nice nursery comments - I do love that room although at the moment I scowl each time I walk in and see the birthing pool which is all blown up and ready for action!! I feel like going in their and popping it with one of my new knitting needles!!

Is it wierd of me to be jealous of Monkey getting wierd stuff out of her lady bits??

Cricri tell that LO to hurry up - you have a HB plan to adhere to!

misdee · 03/11/2008 16:24

ruth, he cant belive his luck atm, but also thinkj he is happy to do so just to stop me being fed up

misdee · 03/11/2008 16:42

i checked my notes from fridays false alarm, and midwife noted that 'cervix was soft and effecing' which i'm hanging onto, as means things are moving in the right direction.

chocolategal · 03/11/2008 16:46

congratulations autumnlady

cricri 4cm! wow, hope things wont be long now!

MonkeyMargot · 03/11/2008 16:59

Good effort Misdee and Rutho on getting it on. My DH won't go near me!! He finds it "odd" doing to to heavily pg wife. What about after he's seen my give birth? Might we never resume nuptials ever again?
ChocO yes - you are right to think it is weird to be jealous of my lady-plasma. Trust me, it's gross and probably means nothing anyhow. Certainly no signs of imminent labour here. So much so, I've booked my tickets for Quantum of Solace for tonight - yipee!!
Cricri - ooh not long for you then , whether it happens on it's own or with the induction tomorrow....best of luck!!!
Just made a Lancashire hot pot which is in the oven and smells dreamy. Good comfort fodder...hmm.

Heartmum2Jamie · 03/11/2008 17:09

Yay Autumnlady!! Congratulations and welcome baby James.

cricri I am jealous of your 4cm. I had a sweep today and no mention of dilation, although she told me it would be pointless to tell me as it means less and less the more kids you have. I hope you go soon!

I am back from the midwife, this is what I copied from another board I use:

Seems I am not making much progress with this baby. He is way too comfy. The boring bits are clear urine, measuring 45cm (PMSL!), baby only 4/5 engaged, meaning his head is sitting at the pelvic brim and just not engaging. One weird thing is my BP, it is on the increase slightly. At 36+5 it was 104/68, last week it was 120/70 (which is my normal) and today it was 130/80 (although measured by a student). I have actually heard that a slight increase in BP can be indicative that things are on the move. I can only hope so.

The midwife said she wasn't going to do much of a sweep as his head is sitting so high still, although it came down a little further after I went to pee. So, she did the exam and said I am still posterior (tell me something I don't already know) but that she could easily reach & feel the top of his head. How is that possible considering how high up he is?? At least everything is very "squidgy" and ripe, so could be anytime, but could make it to inducement next week too. I did like the woman I saw today, she recommended Wednesday night to go as she is on call then, lol! If not, I am booked in to be seen again at the local hospital for another exam/sweep on Friday. By then I will be the most pregnant I have ever been....oh joy!

I guess I should order a fresh pineapple to arrive with my shopping tomorrow, lol!

Many congratulations Autumnlady

LackaDAISYcal · 03/11/2008 17:39

sticks head around door

woohoo we're home thanks for all the lovely text messages when I was in hosptial; it meant loads to be able to be in touch with you all. and paologies if i sent the samne messages over and over again, numb brain wasn't working and i couldn't figure out how to use the phone!! Home and well, apart for a borderline blood transfusion iron level for me. they decided against it and have given me tablets and told me complete R&R until I'm functioingn again. not even allowed to carry the baby around incase I have a trun and drop him. apologies for awful typing; poor oxygen starved brain . finlay is bloody marvellous, feeding well, if a bit bitey on his latch but we are working on it.........boobs macerated (this too shall pass) and arse is well.......lets say I am going to be assaulting DH with a blunt instrument every halloween for six hours so he can have a small inkling of what it's like.

Cricri...i think i was still in denail at 8pm that I was actually in labour ....when my waters went all over the floor at 9:15 I was in NO DOUBT! Will do birth announcement as soon as I can make sense.

Congratualtions to them as need it...
shuffles off due to huge and impressive piles to catch up.

MonkeyMargot · 03/11/2008 17:53

Welcome back Lacks!!! Glad you and baby Finlay are home! Good that you didn't need the blood transfusion in the end - you make sure you look after yourself now (said in stern voice).
Wow - I can't believe how fast your labour was!! One minute you were whipping my ass at scrabble, the next - a baby!!! Amazing!!!
Hope the farmer giles calm down (ouch)!

Oblomov · 03/11/2008 18:34

Welcome back Daisy.

I had a hypo last night and dropped Max on the floor. Dh was horrified. cried. huge argument. told him he was unsuporrtive and jealous.
been to bf clininc today. local. fab. feel better. shame my relationship with dh is at deaths door.
Look what all you guys have to look forward to. the strains of a newborn.

MonkeyMargot · 03/11/2008 19:32

oh obs. That's not good. You need all the support you can right now. There must be immense strain on you all at the moment, after everything you've been through. Glad the BF clinic was of use. Is Max feeding better?
