Yes, I think we've already decided on a name, although that's even more hush hush from everyone for quite a while longer. Although you may all be the first to know that too, seeing as it doesn't matter if you name your pet hamster the same name or something

We were really struggling with girls' names too. Magical coincidence

LuLuBai · 24/11/2008 21:10

Hurrah!!!!

bumpalump · 24/11/2008 21:11

Hi, Sorry to interupt fairly new to mumsnet and just discovered this thread. I am due 4/4/09 with child no 2, can I join you? I have DS already 2yr 2m old. Had scan last week all looking good.

I am toasting you and your little boy Springy!
Welcome bumpalump ;)

LuLuBai · 24/11/2008 21:23

Welcome bumpalump. Is your DS excited about the prospect of a sibling?

And very excited for Springy. Lovely news.

I still haven't decided whether or not to find out. Probably won't sleep all night on Wednesday fretting about it! Doh! Gonna find out eventually, so I don't know why I make such a drama out of it.

Going to haul DD back up to bed now and try to get some shut-eye myself (DD has not been sleeping at all well lately so I need to get some kip in now in case I am up again in an hour).

Night-night all!

SpringySunshine · 24/11/2008 21:25

Welcome bumpalump!

I'm usually RUBBISH at secrets - I nearly had a seizure containing my excitement about this

Just spoke to my family - they're all really excited too, although my dad's terrified that our little boy will be like my male cousin who's a complete xxxx, but I've promised that it's not going to happen. There's no chance.

My dad was also saying that I'm going to have a son who's as big as his dad (6'2) to cuddle me & be all protective when he's older. I hadn't even got past the child stage, but that's so cute too! I'm getting a lovely protective son

Ahhhh, son! Little boy! Words for my child! So unbelievably excited!

I have one lonely long dark hair on my tummy in exactly the same place that I got one when pg with DD. The hair on my legs is growing slower than normal as well. I think that this is going to be another girl. I'm not going to find out at the scan though. As desperate as I am to know, I loved the fact that I didn't know what DD was when I was in labour with her.

BabyBolat · 24/11/2008 21:41

Evening all

I don't have a fluffy tum, DH wants a boy though and has just found one hair to try and convince himself that it is one!

Springy that is great news - although I cannot wait for you to break and tell us the name - I don't know why I decided not to find out now - you are making me so jealous - ho hum I will have to live my excitement through you!!!

Welcome bumpalump!

Hvae had such a rubbish night (got my train ticket stolen with my cards so had to treck around waterloo to get a free ticket thing to get home - am not a fan of the British Transport Police) but the chocolate body paint story just made me forget everything! Thank you so very very much!

Hope you are all having a good night xx

SpringySunshine · 24/11/2008 21:44

Nutty, my tummy is quite obviously hairier - I really do look like a chimp. I've even considered shaving it it's that gross, but decided that I didn't want to get into the thicker stubble issue so left it. Nobody wants tummy stubble. Testosterone is not an attractive hormone in women... Are you definitely going to find out, then?

& Swaliswan, I did think about that before we found out, but we're both so impatient that I don't think that we could've waited another 20 weeks. We'd have ended up paying for a private scan just to find out because we couldn't cope with not knowing.

Plus it was really, really strange to see his tiny 'male anatomy' as the sonographer put it. I was just looking at the screen at this baby growing in my tummy thinking 'I'm growing a penis...'. Rather a surreal moment in my life.

Ohhh, I need to try so hard not to break - DP would be so disappointed if I blurt out about the name. I have to hold out as long as possible!

Sorry to hear you've had such a rough night, BabyBolat. Come & sit down & I'll make you a hot chocolate with marshmallows & crack open some biscuits. What would you like?

SpringySunshine · 24/11/2008 21:48

at 'BabyBloat'. You get all of the best typos. First 'Borat', now 'Bloat'. Fantastic

DungunGirl · 24/11/2008 21:48

hello ladies

Congrats SPringy! Looks like we will be partners in crime...

The old wives tales were all wrong for me this time and following those I should be having a girl.

However...I am going to be greeting another little boy. ( I already have a DS aged almost 4 )

Today is obviously a day for the boys!

Congratulations DungunGirl! There seem to be a lot of boys around in general at the moment. Schools will be practically all-boys schools for our children by the looks of it. Lucky girls
