Ooh, loving the new thread title.
I had to tell people at my uni before I even started, when I was about 6 weeks. I had to make sure that I'd be able to get enough time off, etc.
Speaking of which (this is about to get a bit MEMEME, so I apologise), I've had to miss a seminar this morning (so annoying) because I had to make a sudden dash to the GP. I got my test results through this morning for Downs & my urine from last week. Downs is 'low risk' (which is obviously fantastic, although not unexpected) but I have a urinary tract infection, which I knew was a possibility.
The stumbling block, however, is that every type of antibiotics I've ever been tried on has resulted in a severe allergic reaction (rash, swelling, abdominal pains, vomiting) & made me feel much worse than whatever it's treating. So I went across to the doctor to re-explain this instead of just asking for the prescription. Surprisingly, I was seen pretty much immediately without an appointment, which really impressed me. But she explained that because I've not been experiencing all of the symptoms (I've had the very frequent need to urinate, but not any pain) that the infection may well be travelling up towards the baby & I need to take them. So basically I'm in a situation where I need to make myself incredibly ill (unless finally they've chosen an antibiotic that I'm not allergic to - fingers crossed!) for as long as I can so as to protect my baby. Motherly responsibility is rubbish.
& as for boobs & bumps, my boobs are massive. Yesterday I noticed that they'd grown yet again & are now unrecognisable to me. I think even DP's beginning to be a little scared by them I'm going to have to go for another bra fitting, I think. I've also pretty much entirely given up on normal clothes. There are a few tops that I can make fit & one pair of trousers, if I wear them low, but that's it. I'm living in extremely adjustable maternity wear, which somehow makes me look more pregnant than normal clothes.
