Hi VixterB and Sarahmum

Will everyone stop making me feel hungry, I do nothing but eat at the best of times!

I must be the last to have my scan, on December 10th, they do it at 21 weeks here.

BabyBolat · 24/11/2008 16:18

Hi all

Good luck with your scans everyone

See now I am having the same issues with the bedroom department but not through any fault of DH's - it's me - I just don't want it (which is a big move away from where we were before I got pregnant).

I don't feel particularly sexy but at the same time and not horrified by my body being pregnant but I just really don't enjoy it - I feel very sorry for DH and have been putting in the effort once a week or so but really it's more because I know it has been a while rather than the actual desire! And it's so frustrating because I want to want it!

Welcome Vixtee and Sarahmum.

conkertree · 24/11/2008 16:24

i am similar babybolat - occasionally want it but not often - wish i did want it more cause dh is being very good to me just now.

BabyBolat · 24/11/2008 16:29

Yeah exactly - and I normally want it when I can't have it!!! and I feel so bad because he is being lovely and making it very clear he still sees me in that way. ho hum!

SpringySunshine · 24/11/2008 19:01

So, we've had the scan. Everything looks fine, but still a very awkward, very wriggly little baby.

We know the sex, but my family aren't available to tell until after 9 tonight (typical ) so I can't tell anyone else yet But we know & we're both really pleased & keep talking about names now. Sorry for the cliffhanger

Nutty, dare I ask?

Oh God, Nutty, I'm crying. That's fantastic. I wish I hadn't just had to explain to DP what I was laughing at or I could've tried to re-enact it. The look of horror on his face was fairly priceless, just from imagining the shame. Talk about a Kodak Moment.

That's really excellent, NuttyTaff. But poor poor DH!

SpringySunshine · 24/11/2008 20:04

Well at least you did manage to liven things up in the bedroom & then take a shower together, even if it wasn't quite how you'd anticipated...

LuLuBai · 24/11/2008 20:16

Evening all. ROFL - NuttyTaff that is bloody brilliant. You've cheered me up no end. And I was having a pregnancy hormone down-in-the-dumps moment so I am extremely grateful.

Now I am wondering whether I should stay up for Springy's announcement. V. tired and bed is calling, but I am enormously nosy curious (although I am fairly convinced it is a boy).

SpringySunshine · 24/11/2008 20:26

What makes you think that, LuLu?

I got all hormonal & moody after the scan because DP got to see SO much more than I did seeing as he could move around to look at the screen & I was stuck lying there. I had to keep telling myself to cheer up because we found out what we wanted to & have a very healthy baby.

I hope you haven't been too down today.

You mentioned a little extra fluff on the tummy. Every mum I know who has developed a fluffy tummy has had a boy. But there is always an exception to prove every rule.

I'm OK. Just having one of those days where everything feels like an uphill struggle. Nothing serious at all. DD is in her cot bawling her eyes out. Feel like I am coming down with a cold. The cat is being a pain in the xxxx. Blah blah.

LuLuBai · 24/11/2008 20:46

Ok NuttyTaff - going to make some Ovaltine now (that's ok right? better than Horlicks on the Vit A front?)

SpringySunshine · 24/11/2008 20:51

Ovaltine is fine, we checked the other day - although they explain that it's not a substitute for breast or formula milk

I think I may just blab now. My family aren't going to be around until about 9.15 now & I may explode if I don't tell SOMEONE & I don't want to keep anyone out of bed.

So. Who wants to know?

LuLuBai · 24/11/2008 20:51

Ooooh you tease. I may have to dash upstairs to rescue DD from the torment of her cot.

I am joining you all in deep suspense! ROFL at Nutty (my DH is recoiling in horror too) Can I have an Ovaltine Lulu?
Come on Springy, am on edge of seat here...

SpringySunshine · 24/11/2008 20:58

Well, seeing as you're all so eager to know - & I'm so eager to tell - it's A BOY!

Well done LuLu

I'm so excited - I didn't really have a preference per se, but I think if I'd been allowed to choose, I'd have picked a boy. I was so scared that we'd have a complete daddy's girl (as I always have been) & that I'd be left out in the cold. & when I was growing up I always wished that I had a big brother, so whatever we have next time (oh God, talking about next time already) will have that, which I think's really lovely.

Also, MIL was massively keen on a girl &, if I'm completely brutal, I think that it may be a good thing to have a slight decrease in enthusiasm for now. Plus money's going to be tight & there are far more boys' things floating around our families than there would be for girls.

Oh, it's so good. I thought that it would be a boy too - everyone else is convinced that it's a girl, to the point where people have been saying 'she' without thinking. It's going to blow their minds to have to get used to him being a little boy. Ohhh, I'm so happy

LuLuBai · 24/11/2008 20:58

Back with Ovaltine . I remembered not to put it in DD's bottle.

One for you too Mathsmummy.

mathsmummy27 · 24/11/2008 21:00

Hurrah for you Springy!! I may have just spilt Ovaltine down my new satin pyjamas!
