Our snow lasted about 30 minutes and is now all gone! What a con. So much for the ruddy severe weather warning.

I am wondering what everyone is hoping Santa will bring them this year? I am after an iPod for the third year in a row. Nobody here ever gets the hint!!

SpringySunshine · 23/11/2008 15:47

I don't know what I want for Christmas, really. It seems silly for DP & I to buy each other presents because we have everything we want already. I'm thinking about suggesting that we do something instead, but I don't know what. I don't even have a valid passport (mine's expired & I won't renew it until we're married, so the name's right) so can't suggest going abroad. Anyone got any ideas?

SpringySunshine · 23/11/2008 15:47

Ooh, get me with my accidentally using HTML to italicise things. I've exposed myself as a geek, I feel

Nutty - I was the first born & was 8 days late. My sister was 3 days early. Very limited anecdotal evidence, but it looks good for you!

I was thinking something like that, but I don't know what we'd actually do. I imagine it'd be too cold to spend loads of time outside wandering around aimlessly, so I think it'd need to be somewhere with stuff to do. We have a car, but I have no idea what's around. I don't mind spending a bit of money on it - it's the last chance for any kind of holiday we'll have before the baby, but I need to be able to sell it to him as a fantastic idea. & he's always reluctant to do things that he deems to be pointless

BoffinMum · 23/11/2008 17:15

In case we're updating the list at any point, mine's going to be a boy. My other kids are dd (21) ds (10) ds (7).

Springy - Cliveden's very nice, but pricey ... swimming pool/spa/fitness, open fires, nice gardens even in the winter, very Christmassy up to 6th January. Near Windsor and Marlow for shopping. Opposite a decent pub.

SpringySunshine · 23/11/2008 17:34

I shall look into that, thank you

I just posted a thread on AIBU & haven't been flamed. I'm shocked

Yay Boffin! was thinking it's about time for some boys to even things out. I am ready to do battle with insomnia/DH snoring/inability to turn over without a stitch tonight. I have..
a) hot milk
b) face mask mmmm
c) earplugs
d) an enormous sausage-shaped pillow called Phil
e) satin pyjamas.

Bring it on!

I know. I just needed something to call it, as in 'have you seen Phil?' and it has to be male as it is getting in between me and DH in bed at the moment.

Phil is seeing more action than DH these days!

BoffinMum · 23/11/2008 20:51

I will happily swap for a girl! Although boys always love their mums so much ...

SpringySunshine · 23/11/2008 20:57

Pfft, 'Phil'. Cute I wish I had an excuse for lack of sex - DP seems to have lost all interest, whereas my hormones would really like some sex now please! It's rather depressing actually, but that's another story

Nutty, I'll suggest CP to him as a starting point & see where we go from there. Definitely the sort of thing I'm after

I think I need earplugs. I'm fed up of being woken up by DP's stupid noises & sneezing. He's such a heavy sleeper, too - if I was the same, he'd sleep right through. I wake up at the sound of a mouse blinking

& BoffinMum, I may well be offering you a trade once I know tomorrow I'd love to be adored like little boys adore their mummies!

mathsmummy27 · 23/11/2008 21:00

Springy, it's not just you.. I have had v little going on in that dept for a while.

And I'm with you on the stupid noises! DH has an entire catalogue which include snorting to clear throat, drinking heavily and clonking glass down on table, emptying change out of pocket, farting like a sonorous duck..i could go on

mathsmummy27 · 23/11/2008 21:01

I'm beginning to like Phil more and more...

SpringySunshine · 23/11/2008 21:10

Oh, it all sounds so familiar. He also gets a dry throat in the night, but refuses to keep a drink by the bed (which is what I do). So I wake up at least once a night to what seems to be a death rattle emanating from his side of the bed.

I think I need to get me a Phil. & possibly something more Ann Summers-ish.

BoffinMum · 23/11/2008 21:11

Just replied to your AIBU Springy.

SpringySunshine · 23/11/2008 21:15

Ta muchly

If he is going to be Thai boxing 3 times a week & getting a super-gorgeous body & yet still not having sex with me...

Oh, he does know. It's not even a 'yuck, there's a baby in there & my penis may touch it' sort of thing like I know a lot of men get. I think he just doesn't find me sexually attractive anymore - I've already become a mother figure as opposed to someone to desire. He's started talking about other women a lot more than he used to, as well. Not to me, but in front of me. It's like it's all transferred elsewhere

Yeah, but he just gets frustrated & says that I should know that he finds me attractive, etc. But I really don't.

The thing is, I don't mind how I look. I don't look in a mirror & recoil in horror. I just see that I'm pregnant & that makes me proud & happy. But I mind that he seems to mind. He's not even the sort of bloke who's into really skinny women or anything like that. I don't really know what it is that's putting him off. My big round, hairy tummy probably isn't helping.

He's still generally affectionate towards me - there are lots of cuddles & whatever, but he always touches my bump instead of ME. He used to touch my waist or hips or bum when we were cuddling, but now he'll touch my bump or back instead.
