and some fava beans?

BoffinMum · 12/11/2008 16:36

You read my mind.

BarbarellaNz · 12/11/2008 16:52

Ha ha ha!! Maybe that's the answer to my food aversion problem

mathsmummy27 · 12/11/2008 16:59

Hello all, golly you've been garrulous!
B52s, sending you a virtual cuppa and my sympathy. I would have had the amnio too - and a horrible decision if positive - it's not clear-cut for some people.

BoffinMum - I also raise a hot chocolate to downright niceness.
But then I am feeling very expansive this afternoon because I had my scan and its a...

very healthy...

very wriggly....

thumb-sucking...

hiccuping....

beautiful little GIRL! {largest grin ever emoticon)

LuLuBai · 12/11/2008 17:03

CONGRATULATIONS!

BarbarellaNz · 12/11/2008 17:03

Congratulations Mathsmummy! Have you any girly names in mind?

B52s - good luck for the amnio. I'll echo what everyone else has said which is that everything will be ok. Try to be positive (easier said than done, I know)

BoffinMum · 12/11/2008 17:11

Congrats indeed! But I am so jealous, dd twin, because we think I am having a third boy, and I wanted to be able to get the pink stuff out the loft I have been saving for 21 years. Plus I wanted to be able to do girlie things again. Scan on Friday should double check gender.

mathsmummy27 · 12/11/2008 17:16

I was so convinced it was a boy...DH said 'Amelia' today which I quite like as DD is an 'A' too. Just so over the moon I can barely think straight, let alone mark the 50-odd GCSE papers staring at me!
I need something quite robust as I have a double-barrelled surname....

mathsmummy27 · 12/11/2008 17:18

21 years??? pourqoui?

BoffinMum · 12/11/2008 17:23

Fling with a certain older chap in my very early adult life, single mum until 1997, then married the wonderful dh and produced rest of brood.

Clothes are all lovely Laura Ashley and Osh Kosh pink and lovely if you want them later on! Unless to our surprise we do find out it is a girl, of course.

BoffinMum · 12/11/2008 17:25

I'm double-barrelled too, MathsMummy. This is getting spooky. I love Amelia btw. We also though of Grace and Rose because of family connections and because it's only one syllable to counterbalance the long winded surname.

mathsmummy27 · 12/11/2008 17:32

Ooh...twins...
I forgot to answer earlier question..gastric reflux is when stomach acid comes up into oesophagus and causes pain/damage, sometimes puking in newborns as their sphincter is so floppy and they are lying down most of the time. It mean DD only BF'd for five mins at a time and would scream in pain for pretty much 24/7.
DH also suffers from it so this time I should be able to spot it and give medication.

Love both Grace and Rose. DH wants Juliet...what do you think?

BoffinMum · 12/11/2008 17:48

Nasty reflux. Hope you don't have a recurrence.

Juliet is very pretty, as is Julia.

LuLuBai · 12/11/2008 17:56

lovely names - we have Julian on the boys list (we have a very harsh surname which needs softening).

I really want to find out now - and I want a girl too! Just reminiscing about DD's gorgeous little rosebud babygros and her pure white broderie-anglaise sleeping bag.

But have been saying I wouldn't find out. And there is lots of lovely boys stuff in the loft too courtesy of our nephews.

Do think we should add the genders to the list (if we know them)?

mathsmummy27 · 12/11/2008 18:52

yes!

LuLuBai · 12/11/2008 20:15

Go on then mathsmummy - you start it off. I want to live vicariously through those of you who know what you are having. My anomoly scan isn't for another fortnight (grrrrr - so SLOW!). And I have been adamant that I wouldn't find out. Until now...

OddEyes · 12/11/2008 20:49

Hello all! Catching up took a while!
B52- hope all goes well tomorrow, hope you can enjoy the forced rest depite the anxiety - sending you lots of DVDs and yummy food!
I had toast and tea too!
Mathsmummy, congrats - can't wait till next wednesday for mine, starting to be convinced lo is another ds by shape though...
boffin - sorry for other nasty mumsnetters and your hip pain - hurrah for antenatal niceness!
Only 19 weeks to go! Arhh!

AuldAlliance · 13/11/2008 07:48

Thinking of you and crossing my fingers for today, B52.
The hospital called today with my results. Everything is absolutely fine (sending you positive vibes from Provence, now!!) and it's another boy!

conkertree · 13/11/2008 09:08

good luck today b52.

Thats great news auldalliance.

Nothing to report today - am feeling a bit bleeurgh. Cant really be bothered being at work - want to go home and have a sleep but that won't happen so I'd better just get on with it. Hope you are all abour for a chat later.

BarbarellaNz · 13/11/2008 10:17

Hi Everyone,

How are we all doing today?

b52 - good luck for today - fingers crossed.

AuldAlliance - congratulations!

Having 18 week scan on Monday (although will be 18+4) and, as usual, starting to get nervous. I can't WAIT to start feeling definite movements so I don't have to rely on scans to reassure me that they are alive and well. Time is dragging....

Barbarella XX

Bubbaluv · 13/11/2008 10:41

Hi everyone,
Glad to hear so many of us are having wonderful scans - so exciting!
We're off to Aus on Monday and I'm really starting to dread it. 22 hours of flying with a 14 month old doesn't hold much appeal. Urgh! Anyway, Dh has said he will take on all baby duties on the way there as I have to fly home by myself with DS. I VERY much doubt it will work out that way though.
Still a few weeks of sun will be nice once we recover from the ordeal.
I love the names that are being suggested. We are totally stumped for DS2. Poor thing will just have to be called baby for a while I think!

lauralou1 · 13/11/2008 11:14

hi dungungirl

PuzzleRocks · 13/11/2008 11:19

Lauralou, me too. Despte some movement last week I am feelng paranoid as there hasn't been anything since.
In a few weeeks time, once we have had our scans, we will be laughing at how daft we have been.

how far gone are you ?

BabyBolat · 13/11/2008 11:26

Morning all

Welcome to even more new people (can't believe we are still adding!!!)

B52 - Good luck today - can only mirror what everyone has to say in that the chance is still very very low of anything being wrong so try and keep positive!

Barbarella - I was nervous for my scan and I only have one!!! And with the moving thing I had absolutely nothing then had 2 very definite kicks about a week ago and then after that it just didn't seem to stop but until then not a thing and I was listening to everyones moving stories having all sorts of inner tantrums that it hadn't happened to me - as soon as they start I doubt they will stop!

AuldAlliance - great news and Mathsmummy too - was that what you were both hoping for?

BoffinMum, had a look at the other thread last night- wow it is definitely tense in there - haven't managed to venture out of this little April MN bubble and not sure I will now!!! Tis lovely in here!

Conkertree am feeling exactly the same - feel there will be a lot on MNing today....
