Hi, I'm also on the June thread but officially my due date would be 4th July 2009 so thought I'd better set up a thread for all these summer babies.

Got 3 BFP's yesterday although technically I am only 3+2 weeks. Would love to symptom spot with fellow early testers. Surely there must be more of us out there !! I can't be the first

Lovely pic natty
Big congratulations largeglassred secretly as I would love twins to finish my family nicely
hobnob No SPD pain since for 2 weeks have seen an osteo and she has worked wonders. Dont need to go back till after xmas now. It is expensive but its been worth it to finally be rid of all that stiffness and painfull twinges which never went between pregnancies. Rest lots tonight and you might feel better tomorrow.

pheonix re you xmas shopping mine has so been delayed with DH being in hosp. I have to do christmas dinner too which I haven't even started thinking about yet

woollyjo · 05/12/2008 20:29

Had my booking in with the MW today, gunning for a home birth the hospital was way too hot when I had dd in Dec 06 - imagine July!

How's the food aversion going? I haven't been sick at all (10 weeks now) but am feeling sick all the time - it was the same with dd.

Forced dh to have a curry last night (wasn't hard) because I wanted the spicy, minted yogurt and poppadoms he came home with 3 pots yum!

I'm veggie and really struggling to eat healthy food I just want REALLY salty or REALLY sweet things none of that falls into the 'good 4 you' category

NattyTurkeyAndEggnog · 05/12/2008 21:45

Gillyan · 06/12/2008 10:43

Hello guys

Congrats everyone on the scans - TWINS OMG how exciting!!!

I've had some bleeding again yesterday just a tiny bit when wiping. I've got no pain and had scan at 6wks and 4 days a few weeks ago as same thing happened so I'm not doing anything about it. Spoke to MW and they agree I should just take it easy, all they can do is another scan but I have my booking appointment on wed 1oth so I'll wait till then.

I;m not too worried but this never happened in first PG but I have been told it's quite common. Fingers crossed. I'll be 9 weeks tomorrow.

Off to visit my Nanna today.

I've spent £15 on 4 Christmas cards"!!!!!

hobnob57 · 06/12/2008 11:34

Congrats largeglassofred!

I'm afraid I'm joining the bleeding brigade too. We decided to tell the in laws our good news last night, and as soon as they left I went to the loo and found some pink discharge.

Didn't sleep well last night because I was FULL of wind and I couldn't tell if my uterus was cramping or if I just had wind in that region.

Slept all morning today, and did a quick internal to find brown gunk. Phoned the Matty and they've booked me in for a scan on Monday morning. On the upside there's no red stuff so far and it's not sore, but it all feels a bit odd down there and I'm not feeling as ill as I should be for not having snacked all morning

I've had a really busy week and I had hoped to be starting my xmas shopping properly this weekend, but it doesn't look like I'll be moving far off the sofa!

Belgrano · 06/12/2008 14:28

Oh good luck Gillyan and hobnob57, I really hope everything settles down for you both.
LGOR twins!!! Ohmigod! Wow! That's amazing.
My friend is in labour right now, I just popped over and she had a contraction while I was there - I had forgotten what it's like and thought 'crikey what have I let myself in for?!'

Christiana thanks for asking. I haven't thrown up yet, last time when I started throwing up around 10 weeks it was better than the feeling sick cos at least you get a moment's respite after you are sick. I am just so debilitatingly nauseous [nauseous emoticon] all the time even when I wake up to pee at night, and have a creaky stomach, and gassy windy horribleness going on all the time which just makes the nausea worse.
Still, 8 weeks on Monday so only 4 to go then to the magic 12 wk mark.

How's everyone managing with Christmas parties? It's a shame to be so sick at party season. I am having to cry off them all. Shame.

QueenFee · 06/12/2008 18:52

hobnob and Gillyan fingers crossed for you both x

I am so hoping to be over this sickness by christmas - dont want to be put off my dinner

I was never as sicky as this with the other 2 or as exhausted I could sleep all day as well as all night - any survival tips would be great as its not possible to sleep with dd and ds around!

Ive also been having major cravings for Chips! Funny its never apples or cucumber or something healthy is it?!

hobnob57 · 06/12/2008 21:03

Gillyan, did you get to see someone when you went for your first scan, or was it just the sonographer?

I'm asking 'cos I'm trying to work out how to play asking for time off work on Monday morning. I haven't told anyone at work yet, but I'll have to phone my line manager tomorrow to organise cover for my class. If it's just the sonographer I'll see then I'm guessing that things won't take long and I could just say that I have 'an appointment'. But if I've then got to queue to see someone else it could take a while.

Also, if it's the worst case scenario and I've had a mmc, what happens then? Do I just go back to work and wait or will they keep me in?

Just not very sure. I suppose I'm just trying to avoid telling my boss over the phone but I think that in this case honesty will be the nest policy 'cos I'll need her onside whatever the outcome.

No more bleeding, just plenty of bloating which is making me feel ick.

Hope that everyone is busy enjoying festivities today. We've just been down to see the village lights go on which was a bit of a cold anticlimax but dd enjoyed the trip out

scully · 07/12/2008 07:55

Congrats LGR, twins, wow Have they readjusted your due date?
Can't remember who asked, but I'm in Brisbane, yesterday was 34deg and I had an awful day, just not used to ms with the humidity to go with it (both dd's were born in UK). And dh was hungover so he was no used to anyone
Went to see Billy Joel in concert last night, and stayed awake, he was great and today went here, lovely just to sit in the water all day watching the dd's tire themselves out
I'm struggling to find things that I want to eat each day, hungry and just can't face most of it, or preparing anything either.
With the dd's this passed by 12wks, hoping it's the same for this one.
Hope things are ok for you both Hobnob and Gillyan.

Gillyan · 07/12/2008 10:02

hobnob Hi hope your okay. A couple of days ago I had the smallest amount of bright blood - I mean minute - but then I had pink discharge and then some brownish discharge too, sounds just like what you have just had. The first time it happened I had really bad period like pains all day and then some bright red blood straeked though some normal looking discharge.

Sorry if this is TMI.

The first time I was told to go to A n E as it could of been an eptopic but thats because I had so much pain, They booked me in at the Earlt Pregnancy assesment Unit 2 days later to have scan.

I saw a MW first and she asked what had been happening and then I saw the doc who did the scan - it was an internal one - she said everthing looked ok and then a MW came out to discuss it and I went home.

This time I rang the Ante Natal Clininc where the EPAU is and asked their advice and as I'm not in any pain I said I thought I should leave coming in again till this wed as booked in for my booking scan anyway - they agreed and said as no pain I could wait. She said it could be a bit of the placenta embedding in low down.

I'm not too worried as had no pain at all but I never had this in first PG, have you been PG before??

Apart from the tiny amount of bright red blood it was like the stuff you get at he very end of a period, brown gunk and pinky stuff.

How many weeks are you? If I were you I would just tell your manager, I did as soon as I was PG as I felt so rotton that I couldn't not as she thought I was in a mood. You can rest easy then and not worry about work - can you have all of monday off? Just say you've been told to rest until you have had a scan. Thats what the MW told me the other day, not to work unitl I had had my scan.

Fingers crossed for you, let us all know how you get on tomorrow, will be thinking of you.

FOOD - I have fallen in love with orange and passionfruit ice lollies, they are low fat and only 100 cals each and they make me feel human and I ate 2 last night and it was the most pleasure I had experienced in weeks!

LargeGlassofRed · 07/12/2008 10:22

hi all, hope your ok hobnob, had bleeding with dd2 so understand what your going through.

Been a mad couple of days told the Dc's on friday and they were overjoyed

Ds1 said after a while though, ooh I thought you and Dp where using condoms?

Followed up by dd1 yesterday asking
'So, mummy will you stop having sex now you have two babies in there?'

which then started a whole conversation about how sex was fun and not just for babies

Went to a big christmas do last night with about 30 local mums, was really funny has I look about 5 months pregnant, took about ten mins before someone asked my BF if I had some news?

The reaction once I said yes I am and its 2 was so funny,

Feeling really sick again the past couple of days, and unfortuantly food is'nt helping the only thing that helps is sipping very cold water.

Am still can't quite believe it
someone asked if I had twins in the family?

My dad's an identical twin, and my grandad on my mums side was a twin.

They haven't ajusted my due date yet, I think that will happen at the 12 week scan.
the lady on friday said in would probably be nearer the middle of june though.

Hope everyones getting enough rest, think I am going to have to do all the rest of my christmas shopping online as the thought of standing in crowded shops fills me with dread.

hobnob57 · 07/12/2008 11:34

How much fun LGOR! One of my pupils is a twin and the class were discussing how many placentas her mum had to give birth to! Apparently she had a craving for beetroot and the docs were stunned that she was never anaemic with twins!

My bleed was really light - virtually no red at all, just pink discharge and then brown goo the next day with no pains. I was wearing tights with quite a tight waist band so I wonder if that was anything to do with it? Because there's no pain I'm not realy that worried from that end of things, but I'm definitely feeling different which is worrying me. I'm still a bit icky but in a different way - not so hungry more thirsty. I'm still knackered and could sleep all day, but it just feels like a different kind of tired. I shall stop beating myself up about it and just go for the scan first thing tomorrow. DH won't be able to come, so I hope all is ok.

DD has been driving us mad this morning with her incessant commentary one verything at top volume - I think we're just a bit tired an hormonal! Off to the IL's for lunch and a stint on the santa train.

Have a good day everyone!

NattyTurkeyAndEggnog · 07/12/2008 11:43

hey hobnob hope you have a good day, please let us know how the scan goes wont you? worried for you xx

QueenFee · 07/12/2008 21:13

Morning
Sounds like everyone is getting into the Christmas spirit. We are not getting Christmas decs up til this weekend so another week of being a scrooge. Lol.

Christiana, must feel great to feel a bit better. It is amazing how weeks of feeling like utter crap can seem to suddenly disappear.

Hobnob pls let us know how your scan goes.

I am strangely feeling lots better (to my worry of course as I am only coming up to 10 weeks). I have neurotically decided that slight nausea as opposed to being sick 4 times a day means something bad is lurking. I am hoping I am just a mad pregnant lady and pushing negative thoughts away.

On the good news front, DD (turned 18m yesterday) is finally walking. Hopefully she will be toddling away over the coming months without me having to pick her up too much.

Okay, time to stop lurking and join in. After TTC for 3 years I got pregnant on our first attempt at IVF. Been expecting the worst ever since - but I feel like crap which can only be a good thing

So I've known I was pregnant since 3weeks and 5 days, but it has taken till now (10weeks and 5 days) to pluck up the courage to join in. Found out at the 7 week scan (one of the perks of IVF) that I'm having twins

These will be my first (and last!) babies. Looking forward (still with some trepidation) to seeing them on 17th December at our 12 week scan.

I'm 38yo, live in Edinburgh. Due date 1st July - but twins tend to be early.

Look forward to following everyone's pregnancies over the next 7 months.

Phoenix · 08/12/2008 10:54

Wow more twins . Welcome Rattling and huge congrats on your 2 babies

Hope the scan goes ok HobNob.

My sickness isn't as bad but still there. I ordered myself a BP monitor the other day to check it out myself at home. Its just come this morning and i checked my BP straight away and it was high but after sitting still for a few mins it was normal. I'm sure it is the mw that makes my BP high. It was the same all through my last pg, every time (well most times) i went to her clinic i was sent up to the hospital for monitoring due to high BP. I don't fancy having to drag a 3yr old up to the hospital every few weeks this time so figured if i check it myself at home before my appointments and it's ok she might not send me up as often

Hope everyone's ok and the bleeding has stopped

Morning everyone

I've been away and haven't really had time for a proper catch-up, but I saw all the twins and had to pop in for some congratulations!

Rattling Am so pleased for you!!!! That's such wonderful news!

LGOR Such a lovely surprise! Congrats!

Hobknob hoping everything goes well with your scan today. {{{Hugs}}} for you.

I'm 7 weeks today and ms seems to be creeping up on me. On the one hand I'm secretly a bit pleased as I know 'they say' that ms = good pregnancy (my last one ended in mc) but it's not fun I haven't actually been sick yet, but feeling very seasick in the mornings and then again in the evenings. It seems to taper of around 11:30 - noon, so I guess I'm lucky for that. what I haven't been prepared for is being hungry and feeling sick at the same time...

Belgrano · 08/12/2008 12:48

More twins! Congrats rattling. That's great.

I've just come off the phone to the doctors who I was asking for a prescrip for vitamin B6 which I read on t'internet helps with MS. They were so horrible! Their attitude was basically, you aren't ill and it will pass so just buck up.

They said they'd give me a prescrip for some evil sounding drug if I 'was pushing them for a prescription'. I was doing no such thing! All I wanted was some innocent old vitamin B6 which they said was old fashioned and they hadn't heard of it, therefore they wouldn't give me it.

Honestly. They have no idea about the debilitating-ness of awful old Morning (noon, afternoon, evening and night) Sickness...AND she was a lady doc!

8 weeks today for me. Only 4 weeks to go to 12 (not quite sure how I will get through 4 weeks TBH)

Misspaella · 08/12/2008 12:55

Chrisiana uh oh....hopefully you will be seeing less of the ms.

Rattling welcome and congrats.

Phoenix , LBOT enjoy not having ms too badly. DH and I are really foodies, and I really miss food - proper meals instead of bread, porridge, and crisps on a daily basis.

Misspaella · 08/12/2008 13:10

Belgrano how irritating !! Not like you were asking for some dodgy medication.

mickeylou · 08/12/2008 13:34

More twins! Congratulations Rattling - you must be so pleased.

I feel ok to be honest. getting quite tired and nausea comes and goes but compared to pregnancy with DS it pales in comparison. Just hoping it stays like this.

my mum is on holiday for a fornight so i am only working one day this week and two next week. Break couldnt come at a better time really.

Just picked up DS from nursery - looks so cute in little uniform. its hard to imagine loving another child as much as i do him. did you all think that before you had your second?
