norash40 · 14/03/2005 14:09

Hey 3mummy,

I am so glad for you at least something is happening and the end is near for you. I just hope that it all goes well for you gal.

I am ok. Loads of pain, lack of sleep, the usual, but I am not complaining. I just hope everything progresses well for you.

I hope things start happening for me soon too.

norash40 · 14/03/2005 14:10

So what's happened so far 3mummy?

thedame71 · 14/03/2005 14:29

Good news 3mummy! I know how you feel -- its frustrating for things to stop and start but someone said to me its quite common in third babies!

I wish my waters would break and at least I would know that one way or the other I would have the baby in 24 hours!

Good luck tomorrow if things don't happen before then!

x

popsycal · 14/03/2005 15:40

Just checking in quickly to see how everyone is doing1
not getting much time to be online

i have a gorgeous but very nocturnal baby! congratulations to all of you who have had babies and good luck for the next few weeks to everyone else!

will be back when things have calmed a little

Pidge · 14/03/2005 15:50

Ooooh - good luck 3mummy. And hope you get some action soon thedame.

BoneyM - I get all emotional reading birth stories too!

I'm feeling incredibly sore from the stitching, but otherwise things are improving I think. The feeding is a bit better - Iris no longer vomiting up blood stained milk. And the afterpains of my uterus contracting seem to have eased this afternoon. But it is weird to think that last Tuesday I was 9 months pregnant, swam for 50 minutes, walked a couple of miles, baked a batch of cookies and now a week on I am basically house-bound because I can't stand up for more than 2 minutes without being in agony, and I can't sit down without my valley cushion! Still, I have a gorgeous baby to show for my efforts, and my body will mend.

Good vibes to everyone - particularly those in late pregnancy - just enjoy having intact bodies for this final stage is my advice .

popsycal · 14/03/2005 15:52

pidge have you got lansinoh cream???

hand express a bit of milk before each feed. harry was having reall troubl latching on when my milk first came in and getting rid of a bit really helped....

3mummy · 14/03/2005 16:06

Hi again, I have just walked up to school with Dh and Dd2 to fetch Dd1 and try to start something up, but all I seem to do is leak more! I have resided myself to being induced in the morning and so stopped at the shops on the way home to buy choc and lots of magazines to read in hospital. I guess this way it'll be a "nice" surprise if I go into labour spontaniously tonight .

Norash and thedame - I'm sending you both "break water" vibes!.....

norash40 · 14/03/2005 17:21

Thanks 3mummy . I hope things progress well for you gal.

bonym · 14/03/2005 21:32

Dh has had computer all day again today so just caught up and 3mummy - I can't believe you're going to beat me to it - I was counting on you to see out the month with me! . Seriously though, really pleased for you that things seem to be happening and keeping my fingers crossed for you that labour will start spontaneously. If not, good luck for the induction tomorrow and look forward to reading the birth announcement .
Charlie - good luck for Wednesday - there won't be many of us March girls left at this rate.
Thedame - fingers crossed for you that things start up again soon - you must be soooo fed up
Pidge - glad to hear that feeding seems to be getting easier and afterpains are going, but about your stitches. As you say though, all the pain is worth it to have your precious dd - your body will get back to normal before long.
Norash - sending you loads of empathy with the aches and pains - won't be long before it's our turn hopefully!

Well - had my reflexology session this morning and haircut this afternoon so have had a real pampering day. Have one more session of reflexology booked for next Monday and am hoping it might then start things off! It's so lovely and relaxing

Well I'm off to bed now to see if I can get a good nights sleep. I have been having regular contractions again, that got quite painful, but have now faded away again .

Guess it's off for induction for me in the morning. On the plus side - I can't wait to meet my baby !!

Hopefully I'll be on the birth announcements in a couple of days .

Good luck and best wishes to you all xx

Cristina7 · 14/03/2005 22:36

Good luck tomorrow, 3mummy.

Pidge · 15/03/2005 11:42

oooh - good luck 3Mummy - really looking forward to your news.

popsycal - yup I have lansinoh - and it is really helping. One side is now pretty much ok, just the left side very sore. I was about to go up to the breastfeeding clinic this morning, but the dishwasher repair man delayed us, by which point Iris was frantic to feed and she is now asleep! So we'll try again this afternoon.

I get my stitches and everything checked out by the midwives tomorrow, so will see if it really is normal not to be able to move more than 50 yards at this stage! Actually I did just manage a 5 minute hobbling walk with my mum pushing Iris in the pushchair, so we're making progress. I think more than anything it's a huge shock, having been so active in late pregnancy. Maybe this is my penance for such good fortune at that stage!

boneyM - the reflexology and pampering sound great! Enjoy it. You'll be joining us before you know it.

Cristina7 - how is your dd doing now?

norash40 · 15/03/2005 12:11

Hey Pidge,

Sorry to hear you are still surfering, but it will be over soo. atleast you had your baby. How do you feel apart from the pain?

How is everyone else doing today?

norash40 · 15/03/2005 12:24

Pidge mckenzie is looking for you on another thread. Have you seen it?

Nettee · 15/03/2005 12:35

Good luck 3 mummy - I hope you went into labour yourself.

Sam and I are doing well - dh back to work today - not much time for internet but I am still here!

Hope all the new mums are enjoying their babies and that the pain is all improving now.

ZoeC · 15/03/2005 13:14

Hi all,

Good luck 3mummy - could be well under way by now I guess

I'm still ticking along, but am now 2/5 engaged which midwife said is probably as far engaged as I'll get until labour so I'm hoping that means it'll be soon!

Good luck to everyone else, and welcome to all the new babes

Oh Pidge - meant to ask you - how long did it take you to fill your pool? I know you didn't have the same one as me but it might give me some idea.

OP posts:
norash40 · 15/03/2005 15:45

Hey guys quick question.

When you go to the hospital, I know sometimes they have bathing pools. They do in mine anyway, do you usualy have to book in advance or do you just ask when you go in?

bonym · 15/03/2005 16:27

norash - I think it's pretty much a question of "first come, first served" -i.e. if the pool is free, you can ask to use it, if not, you can't! It would depend on the hospital though - I know when I had dd (at Chelsea & Westminster) certain labour rooms had pool rooms attached to them and because I had previously stated that I would like to use the pool, they put me in one of those rooms when I went in. Bit of a waster though as they didn't fill it and didn't ask if I wanted to use it - by that time I was in too much pain to ask!

OP posts:
norash40 · 15/03/2005 16:32

That was a waste of the pool hehehehe. I am just thinking about it as I have watched a few water baths and they look "relaxing". If I can use that word when talking about labour.

thedame71 · 15/03/2005 18:07

Hello everyone, had my post date appt at hospital today, Dr did a sweep and he said I am so ready to go but what does he know! Perhaps that will get things going....

If not I will be induced on Thursday, St Patricks day .... I am so excited to have some light at the end of the tunnel!

Fingers crossed things happen before then though but it doesn't seem too long to wait now! xxx
