morning all - seems I am not the only one with insomnia! Haven't posted for a few days but have been lurking......running out of time to do things and nursery STILL not finished! Also trying to plan DS1's party which if you have kids, you know can be a logistical nightmare!

Who is up au moment???

Oblomov · 17/10/2008 08:15

Morning everyone.
Not much to report.
Have been enjoying reading all the chat.

AutumnLady · 17/10/2008 08:25

LackaDAISYcal · 17/10/2008 08:32

don't go autumnlady...

did you get your text buddy email? I got an out of office reply saying it had been forwarded to a colleague! Poor man will be thinking "WTF.......?"

LadyBuzz · 17/10/2008 09:31

Morning all, I am sitting here poised for exactly 10AM when the AC/DC tour tickets go on sae on ticketmaser. DH has threatened divorce if I don't get him 2 . I asked him what I should do if I went into labout at 9 and his face was a picture - I'm so glad hes got his priorities sorted .
I didn't sleep too well either - a text from DH mate at 3AM did not help and I might throttle him when I see him next, he works nights I do NOT!!
Lacks hope DS is better today and you have all got away without cathching it!
Merry how exciting for you!
Hop everyone else is OK

Heartmum2Jamie · 17/10/2008 09:35

Morning all. Sorry not been around for a few days. I have been trying very hard to fight off the cough/cold viral thingy ds1 had last week, but totally succumb to it yesterday and now I have no voice....Great! Things had better not start happening today as I would be able to make myself heard should I need to call anyone, lol!

If anyone should find my voice, can you please send it back to me??! I still have a couple of chapters to go of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, which I am reading to the boys (well, ds1. Ds2 mucks about while I am reading). Ideally I want to finish the book before the baby arrives. 38+2 today, ds2 came at 39+5, so could be anytime.......or I may still be here in almost 3 weeks

LackaDAISYcal · 17/10/2008 09:43

I tkae it you won't be going to the AC/DC concert then ladybuzz?

DS much better this morning; he is talkative and bolshy and cheeky and answering back, so very much his usual self (AIBU to want him to be poorly as at least then he was quiet?) inspite of one throwing up incident in the night. In fact he is so well that I keep having to threaten to send him to school!

So far no-one else seems to be affected, but DD is teething big time so is a misery guts this morning. DH has thankfully cancelled his Glasgow meeting though, so I'm not dealing with them both on my own.

right, have finished my cup of tea, DD napping, DS watching his beloved fishing programmes on TV; I'm off back to bed for an hour!

AutumnLady · 17/10/2008 09:45

Lacks - I got the text buddy email as italso forwards to my private email account! My colleague is cool and knows to ignore all other emails than work ones!!
Will txt my bddy today. You can always facebook me as sometimes that's easier to pick up
Xx

Cheers AL . I just had visons of this poor bloke wondering who the hell AutumnLady was. I didn't mention MN though so it's not like he can seek you out and read your posts!

LadyBuzz · 17/10/2008 09:54

Lacks No they are not my cup of te TBH - I'm going to see New Kids on the Block in January though I know i'm very sad but they were my first proper boy group crush thingy!

LackaDAISYcal · 17/10/2008 09:56

probably the diamorphine hana. I was so wired after the birth of my two that I was awake all night.

MonkeyMargot · 17/10/2008 10:17

Morning all!
Yes - the REAL monkeymargot is indeed a JRT. She is brill. I love her
Lacks glad your DS is feeling better. Good news.
hana It's great you're stocking up on sleep now. Good on you! I'm also sleeping well, and feeling pretty good too. My belly button hasn't popped out as yet.Hoping it stays in now!!
Now - on the subject of "pushing presents". I, like Rutho have bought DH a gift. A fandabidozee Leica Digital Camera with swanky brown leather case. It cost me an arm and a leg. I've already given it to him so he can start practising with it prior to birth. Don't want him faffing about reading instruction manuals when he should be rubbing my back etc!!
So, now I come clean. The main reason I bought him such an extravagant gift was to gently nudge him towards buying me something gorgeous. Specifically, some diamond earrings which I've hankered after for years. So we shall see whether my not-so-altruistic behaviour had the desired effect in a couple of weeks!!! tee hee!

coolkat · 17/10/2008 10:31

Morning

Daisy and Rutho, impressed you can eat choc at night, I am at the stage where I feel quite sick again. Anyhow I am a ready salted crisps eater and felt like world had ended when we ran out yesterday! I have to go to Tesco's before lunch.

Pushing presents, I am having a present from DH, a white gold ring to replace my gold engagement and wedding ring. I have wanted this for a while

What do you ladies think to this.. Yesterday I kept needing the toilet and today again feel like constantly need a number 2, sorry TMI, last night felt really rough and tummy felt like period ache. I think baby was dropping but it scared me and DH looked a bit white I can tell ya!Just don't feel comfy down there at all, no sooner do I eat and drink I need the toilet.

Rutho sorry to hear about DH's grandma, we don't have a joint account and have to remind MIL every Christmas not to send us a cheque in both names. I have own account, DH pays bills and I have a credit card he pays if I buy any 'big' purchases, saying that there is nothing secretive we both know what we have etc.

Families, the whole wedding thing still going on around me, Sis turned into Bridezilla!

2 weeks 3 days til induction - not that I am counting!

MonkeyMargot · 17/10/2008 11:31

ooh Hana - that music thing sounds cool!
coolkat - oh dear, is your sister's wedding still going ahead in November/December? Are you OK about this?

coolkat · 17/10/2008 12:23

It seems that way Monkey, she is totally off the scale at the moment though and treating my mum like crap. She wants this that the other with no thought for who is paying for it and lives in la la land, she could sort of have all these high expectations if the wedding was next year but its in 6ish weeks! She currently lives in my mums house and just started paying rent but my mum still pays all other bills (mum does not live there)

Anyhow nothing as strange as family.

Hana lol at your DH getting his gadgets in, my DH not really into that thank goodness, Football though that's another matter!

ceebee74 · 17/10/2008 12:25

Ladybuzz ooh NKOTB, I used to LOVE them! I remember going to see them in concert first time round and they were just fantatstic

Daisy/Autumnlady I also now have visions of this poor bloke wondering who Autumnlady is and of me receiving random texts from him trying to find out (Autumn - will try and text you in a bit to check numbers)

HM2J sorry you are feeling rough - it is all you need on top of being 38 weeks pregnant! I did wonder if something (i.e.baby arriving) had happened.....

Hi to everyone else - DH is working from home today so is hogging the computer so I am taking the limited opportunities to get on and catch up with this and Scrabble (he is currently doing the crossword in the paper at the mo!)

ChocOrange05 · 17/10/2008 12:54

Ladybuzz I am SOOOO jealous of NKOTB - will you give Jordan a big kiss from me please?!?!?

LackaDAISYcal · 17/10/2008 12:55

heartmum, I missed your post earlier; sorry you are feeling rough . There seems to be a lot of stuff around at the minute.

I hope we are fighting fit for labour and delivery though as I imagine it might be a very miserabel expereince of you are feeling poorly.

oh dear at the bridezilla coolkat; they are bad enough on their own but with pregnancy hormones thrown in as well.......I can imagine the tears if she doesn't get her own way

What a cunning move regarding the camera MonkeyM. My DH would love a digital SLR (he is a big time camera buff but all his cameras are, shall we say, vintage) He has a little Nikon thing that is a semi SLR and keeps saying it'll do, but I know he'd love a big fancy one.

LackaDAISYcal · 17/10/2008 12:59

NKOTB kind of passed me by as I was too old! I will show my age and say it was Duran Duran (esp John Taylor) that ws my teenage crush.

Oh and I had a lovely nap for an hour and a half......feel nice and refreshed now.

Pinkyminkee · 17/10/2008 13:00

Hi all
hope people who were ill are feelign better.

Cmaeras- I've got a digital SLR, more for a work thing, but TBH last holiday I went to tescos and bought a little compact digital that fits in my pocket and I use that a lot more!
I think I may have walked to tumbletots for the last time before the baby comes. I am absolutely knackered now!

Pinkyminkee · 17/10/2008 13:05

hmm nap time.. sound sgood, lacks I'm going ton put DD to bed for a bit, methinks!

Oblomov · 17/10/2008 13:49

Hi guys.
I have good news and bad.
The good is that I have just had my hair colured and cut and feel a million dollars.

The bad is that they are worried about me having placents failure. I faxed my blood sugars to Helen this morning, she is my diabetic specilaist pump nurse. She said my blood sugars had been very low. Sign of placenta failure. ad baby been moving.

See this is the thing. I am not very good at monitoring/recognising when he moves. I think he has . But now I am starting to doubt. And am totally paranoid. Will he die ? How irrational is that. How long can a baby survive once the placenta has failed. I have goggled but I need it in simplistic terms.

So I am sitting here worrying myself stupid. Helen said just to wtch it and to come to kings if worried. Yeah, like just pop up there.

Sorry all me, me me, But as you can see I am all of a dither.

Pinkyminkee · 17/10/2008 13:57

oh Oblomov that sounds awful. I would go and get yourself and the baby checked out. I always wonder when HCP say 'it may be blah blah awful thing, but if you are worried' as if that wouldn't make you worry?? I know it's areally big trek, do you think you will be able to get there?
