Thought I'd better start the thread since a) I've never done it before b) I'm not actually in labour right now c) it'll take all the 9 remaining posts on the previous thread to get the link to this one done correctly!

Hey, Congrats to Melt and Ellideb!!! Looking forward to the stories.

There are just a few of us left now... No signs of popping here Munki I don't mind though, a nice quiet weekend before the storm would be perfect

(I expect I'll be moaning about being overdue next week...!)

sagecat · 27/09/2008 11:37

Congratulations MelT76 and Ellideb - Only 13 of us officially left on the "still to pop" list - tis getting very lonely here

MunkiMom · 27/09/2008 11:55

congrats ellideb ive been wondering about you!

for the newest evictees, here's the link to the post natal thread! we'll see you all soon, dont you worry.

(((((at least, i hope!))))

jenny i agree, a nice chilled weekend before the storm would be grand. i'm officially 1 week overdue. i know its not at long as some of the others have waited...and they weren't wrong, it really does start to bog down on ya sometimes. ((pros & cons, as with everything else, i suppose))

now, do we think its safe to assume kitsmummy has popped by now? 15 days over? ((not to mention, in the 1.5 months i've been on this thread, i've never heard from her, myself.))

Pidge · 27/09/2008 11:59

Sage - poor you, not what you need right now or any time is it.

Congrats MelT76 and ellideb - looking forward to full reports!

Gosh, the 'days left' list is looking very slimline isn't it. Unlike those of us on it!

I got a bit stressed this morning - the builder to fix the gaping hole in our kitchen wall is now not coming until Monday, and the worksurfaces man is 'running late' but 'hopefully here a bit later'. So we now have builders scheduled to be in every day next week to get the kitchen finished, which is all well and good, but if I go into labour during the day they are going to have to be sent packing. We keep reminding them that this baby is hopefully going to be born at HOME, but I don't think they have a clue! Basically the best scenario would be for the baby to stay put. If I waited another week past the due date like I did with dds 1 and 2 it would be pretty ideal really!

Although, dp then informed me he has an open day at his school next Saturday that he needs to attend as head of department, so could I either have the baby well before then, or keep it in till Sunday. I feel like this poor baby bump is not getting the priority it deserves .

Anyway, have done some deep breathing and got myself back to thinking that it's out of my control so not worth fretting about. If I go into labour dp has promised to try to stuff something into the gap in our wall to try to keep the house a bit warmer! And that's the only thing that matters really.

blimey · 27/09/2008 12:15

more congrats!
leonie what's a "natural caesarian"?

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 27/09/2008 12:48

Oh, 3 new babies. Congratulations ladies!

MunkiMom · 27/09/2008 13:42

hm...i was wondering the same thing, leonie...natural C/s? i'm thinking: i want the meds YOU are taking, if they make you use words like "natural" & "c/s" in the same sentence!

pidge ::: sigh ::: i guess its good to see something slimline around here, right? i've been getting a bit down lately at how i'm piled alll this weight back on during this pregnancy...and ive heard myself slip into that excuse: ahhh, well i'm pregnant, guess its ok to have this or that while i can.
((i lost 7 stone before stopping the pill...and it was hard work!)) so to see myself putting loads of weight back on is depressing...

but, hey-ho, at the end of the day, i can always go back on the diet after this.

on another note pidge, i'm sorry to hear of the delay on the kitchen. its the trouble with builders/contractors. they can be hit-or-miss sometimes. (((if it were me, there would only be "hit", as i throw bricks and tools at them to get it sorted!)) and not missing them! haaaahah

chin up hun!

Pitufina · 27/09/2008 14:16

I was wondering about the natural c/s too. I thought I'd missed some vital information somewhere along the line.

Flumpytigger · 27/09/2008 14:42

Congrats to all the new arrivals, you're all so lucky. Especially MelT76, with us sharing the same due date and all. Now just waiting on Becaroo's update and I'll be really that I'll be the last of us that was due on 18th Sept.

After the membrane sweep on Tuesday and numerous shows since (sorry TMI).. still nothing, not even a twinge!

I do feel like baby is lying really heavy on my pelvis but I am definately not feeling any potential contractions or beginnings of labour. I feel like I've been pregnant forever!

I suppose it's going to be the induction tomorrow as planned, unfortunately. Unless I'm pushed to the back of the queue because there's so many more important delivery's than mine (sorry for the moan but had bad previous experience). This little one clearly doesn't want to budge of its own accord

I hope everyone else's lovely little bundles arrive shoon..
Sorry to hear about the hassle with the builders Pidge. Why do things with workmen never go to plan! I hope you manage to keep your legs crossed until they finally get the job done (certainly the sooner the better)!
xx

MunkiMom · 27/09/2008 17:23

flump i'm sorry to hear you are really dreading what could very well happen tomorrow.
I'll send positive vibes your way tomorrow, so the bloomin doctors get you sorted straight away!

as for me, been getting loads of movement in the lower pelv area...and when i brought the baby carrier/car seat out of its bag, (was in the loft for what seems ages so needed a good wipe with the dettol), i started getting really strong feelings in the lower belly...but i suspect they are mostly on the inside, and not the start of anything.

perhaps its the boy reacting to the strong fumes of the dettol.
i guess only time will tell.
(((still hoping for a september baby here!! so anyday now, little man, feel free to pop anytime by monday/tuesday!))

i'm desperate to get the big grocery shopping sorted. 99% of the time, i have it sorted online via tesco. but their site is sooo slow lately, its taking ages! i thought i'd try asda this time and spent a couple hours doing the order..and hit "checkout"...only for the site to tell me i've lost my delivery slot?!?! ((i was WELL within the time limit they offer)) and sainsbury's didnt have the time slot that was best. after all the frustration of it, i'm just gonna bite the bullet and have DH drive me to do it myself. and that will be interesting with Ds AND dh in tow with the over-due pregnant one! (((dh hates being in the grocery store))

righty, better get my list together. hope everyone is well.

MissusH · 27/09/2008 18:03

Hi All, more new babies !!

Still nothing doing here, but was v restless last night (couldn't relax) and have been really lively and "cleany" this morning. Had strong BH last night but nothing really exciting.

Mind you, have been to the loudest birthday party in the world this afternoon (42 kiddies ) so stood the whole time and had a bit of a dance to keep the pressure on!!

Had periody pains on the way home but not sure if that was because I wanted a poo . Will see if they come back now toilet business has been sorted!!!!

becaroo · 27/09/2008 18:21

BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT:

Toby George born on thursday 25th september at 10.29am weighing 8lbs 4oz...he is beautiful.

Full gory details to follow.......

Congrats to all the other new mummys - will catch up when i have a spare 10 mins - bf feeding not going well

I have huge boobs and he cant seem to latch on - any tips?????

Love to all xxx

Pidge · 27/09/2008 19:37

becaroo - many congrats - I love the name Toby and it's been high up my list, but doesn't go with my surname unfortunately - so has been vetoed. Lovely to hear it being used! Sorry to hear about bf problems - all I can say is call a helpline, and / or try to get a breastfeeding counsellor or midwife to help out. If you're engorged you could try expressing a bit of milk first to make things easier for him to latch on.

jearund · 27/09/2008 20:04

Becaroo Congratulations! I second Pidge's advise - I had the same problem with Dougie. I managed to get him to latch on by shaping my breast in one hand and sort of 'posting' it into his mouth so try that (then the area he has to latch on to is smaller) otherwise hand express, ideally into his mouth to give him the taste for it, until your boob has gone down enough for him to latch on. If it's really engorged you may need to express into something else but do give him the milk - shame to waste it! Good luck.

foxytocin · 27/09/2008 22:00
