Autumn seems to have come and gone here - beautiful sunshine today, just had to change my outfit as too hot!

Is it tomorrow tink? Am excited for you!

missjackson · 03/10/2008 14:55

Hi all -- just checking in to say hello and let you know happy news that rash is ON IT'S WAY OUT... 3 weeks of hell but just sooooo grateful that it seems to be going away. Have been keeping up with all the news.

Have put on about 6 kilos myself, but I agree there is no point worrying about weight gain - I'm just trying to eat good stuff as well as all the bad stuff that I seem to be craving - my latest fad is mint aero bars!

Am trying to find a really cosy, comfy maternity jumper to wear over leggings -- since my rash I can't bear anything remotely itchy - so it needs to be 100% cotton really. Might try M&S at the weekend.

Have a lovely weekend everyone x

rrrayray · 03/10/2008 14:58

Moosemama...Where are you?? In Suffolk & its Brrrrrr Freezing here! Car said 6c Late morning. Am making Yummy home made soup, and have lit Wood Fire! I do like the Cold Months being Snug as a bug inside!!

Am just starting to think about what to buy people for Christmas. As despite not having any kiddies, OH is awful with shopping. So will do All family gifts, and don't fancy Decemeber Waddling around Busy Christmas Shops.

Am going to get some people pictures put on Cavnases. Did a massive one (almost as tall as me) for OH last year, he was awe struck by it.

If anyone else fancies doing the same- i can't recommend www.photostuffdirect.co.uk enough. they put pictures on cushions, bags, cups, the works- Novel Idea always greatly recieved!!

Bought Beanie some little Ballet Shoes with my Food shopping earlier. Pink with a little heart on. 0-3 months, at £3 i couldn't resist! :-) Shes going to be one spoilt little princess!!!!!!!!!!! although i refuse to let her be a spoilt brat!

Had the best nights sleep (as in only tossed and turned and woke about 15 times, rather than 50) last night. Feel Wonderful for it!

Fingers crossed Tink- You must let us know!!!!

moosemama · 03/10/2008 16:37

Hello and welcome Pan. Is it just hormones or something more serious?

rrrayray am in the Midlands. Just had a lovely stroll to the school, bit windy but gorgeous sunshine - actually its the first time I've made it there and back without collapsing afterwards for a couple of weeks so am obviously well and truly on the mend.

Just starting thinking about Christmas too. We weren't going to do presents for other people as absolutely broke, but then it all felt like a let down as I love Christmas and my favourite part is giving presents (not bothered about receiving them really, there's never anything I want). Thought we could get the kids to decorate porcelain mugs and trinket boxes from Baker Ross for all the older generation rellies but there are so many children in the family now that buying for all the nieces and nephews could bankrupt us - will have to think about that one a bit more.

Will help if DH's company give him at least a percentage of his bonus in October - but won't know until the last week of the month.

Got a quote for a new exhaust this morning £350.00!!!! This is our first Japanese car and haven't needed to have any significant repairs done on it before, so came as a BIG shock! If we can't get the price down, that may well be the deciding factor regarding who we buy presents for, especially as MOT is up next week.

Am relieved we have the bulk of the baby stuff ordered and paid for. Just the car seat to get now, will get the same one as we had for the boys as they still use the same in-car base. Luckily have found some good deals on them. Apparently the one we had has now 'expired' due to its age and the manufacturers website advises chucking it away!

Will obviously need to get a stock of bits and bobs like Kamillosan, Infacol, nappies, wipes etc, but am going to try and add a bit into the weekly shop each week until we've built up a good stock. Am going to buy Moltex eco nappies at first as used them for both boys, they are so soft and we never had even one leak. Unfortunately they are having manufacturing problems at the moment, but only on the newborn size! So can't buy those until the end of October.

Gosh I've rattled on! Sorry! Must be the sunshine going to my head.

moosemama · 03/10/2008 16:50

Buckles

how not to do it

HeathersMummy · 03/10/2008 17:06

Hi all, and welcome new ladies .
Had visit to midwife yesterday and all ok. She now says I am the right size for my dates and must've just had a growth spurt before. I'm 27 weeks and measuring 28 so that's just about right.
Had a really busy week trying to get organised with baby stuff. Ordered pram and had trip to IKEA at the weekend to buy nursery furniture. Was out today and got lampshade, wallpaper border, curtains etc so all we need to do now is paint and build
Trying to get organised for Christmas, just like you rray, hubbie is hopeless and thinks it should all wait til December - I don't fancy waddling round the shops when I'm due hogmanay! Christmas cards and wrapping paper delivered today - think I might have a quiet night next week and write the cards, so they can be all ready to post early December. We'll see though .

buckles · 03/10/2008 17:19

Moosemama- brilliant! Can see now how my sunday afternoon is going to pan out, best I get some cake whilst shopping for appropriate depilatory products- hope DH appreciates the trouble, not sure after 12 weeks that he will even notice...

stripeywoollenhat · 04/10/2008 12:30

hello all - welcome pan. tink, hope your little one uncrossed his/her legs this time.
i'm just back from an abandoned shopping trip, got about half a mile in the car before we had to pull over because my car sickness was so bad i thought i was going to faint. anybody else developed carsickness as a pregnancy symptom? god, it's vile. anybody got any suggestions?

MsSparkle · 04/10/2008 14:52

Welcome Pan

Thanks everyone for the nice messages. I think the thing i am most worried about is if the doctor puts me on medication. I really don't want to go onto anti-depressants but in a way i think maybe this would be a good thing if it sorts me out once and for all.

I am so looking forward to Tinks news! It's exciting

tinkisgoingtohaveagirl · 04/10/2008 16:36

Hi all,

Had an adventurous w/e here! Fell down stairs and broke my toe! Interesting morning spent in a&e. Sure you'll be fine MsSparkle, good luck. And congrats Tink!

fymandbean · 05/10/2008 21:55

oh dear lennied - are you ok? toes can be very painful....

Periwink · 06/10/2008 07:12

LenniEd - oh no ... sorry to hear about the broken toe, hope all ok! I am so so clumsy at the moment and have slipped and fallen too many times to remember.

Had a good night's sleep last night - only got up once!

Anyone know where I can get very good quality 60 denier plus maternity tights that will not roll over and down bump - I am finding it a struggle to find a good pair!

rrrayray - the Myleen Klass babywear from Mothercare is so cute, will order a few things too!

rrrayray · 06/10/2008 10:04

LenniEd- So sorry about your Toe! Hope you feel better soon!!!

Periwink- i took had a good nights sleep last night, i didnt get up AT ALL... just tossed and turned a fair bit, but MUCH less than usual.

Periwink- I always have and still use M&S Tights. Cant Fault them!

tink Yay for another january Girl!!! Like i said on my last post (esp for girls) the myleene Klass Baby K Range is Adorable! I ordered Beanie the little grey cashmere dress and some little grey booties online! Can't WAIT for them to arrive!

Had a great night last night, we went to watch Lee Evans at the 02 arena (anyone else go?) We set off REALLY early (its about 1 hr 20 mins) at about 2pm for an 7.30pm show, as we wanted to have a lesiurely early dinner...and thank goodness we did. The A12 (main road from us to London) had a massive accident on it, luckily didn't take TOO long to clear and still got some yummy food before Pee-ing ourselves laughing!! Seriously, i think if anyone went there around the time they were due, laughing that hard surely would send you into labour? I'm thinking it would be a GREAT Trick! ....The DVD from the shows is out 24th Nov...so think going to by that as my trick if go overdue!!!! :D

Still Cold here, but at least the rain & mist has lifted!

fourlittlefeet · 06/10/2008 12:04

hello all, spent most of last week painting so not had much time for m'netting. Welcome pan, congrats tink, and bad luck lenni. gosh its all happening on here!

I'm loving the sunshine today but apparently it won't last

LenniEd · 06/10/2008 12:23

What have you been painting FLF? The nursery?? We need to do ours but can't see us getting round to it for a while.

Toe not as bad today but not getting much done. DD wants to be carried round all the time too - for the first time in ages - I think we'll have fallen out by the time DH gets home! She is such a drama queen lately, spends at least an hour a day rolling round on the floor due to some 'disaster' or another. Yesterday she broke a tiny little piece of fingernail - microscopic would describe it well - and she was beside herself!

Periwink - I tried quite a few brands last time round and always had the same problem. I bought some mama spanx from figleaves which were quite good but very expensive, and even with those I was unrolling the top all the time. In the end I bought hipster type tights in normal sizes and wore them under my bump. This time round I don't work so have no need for tights - one less thing to worry about!
