Kel78...my boobs arent leaking either but once i had the baby (e c-section) it leaked for England!! When i do squeeze them it just abit of Colostrum comes out...or otherwise its dry!

abbymeg · 03/09/2008 19:10

Can I just say a HUGE congratulations to Digitalgirl on the arrival of her DS. It seems like ages ago that we were symptom spotting! I'm so pleased for you. Congratulations again!

carrieon · 03/09/2008 19:28

LOL at pineapplemother ridding the world of fruit!
I'm am sneezing and wheezing for england tonight - one of my wonderful friends came round and did dusting earlier which is wonderful, but bad for my lungs!
Tonight on the agenda I'm sewing curtains. My mum pinned them at the weekend so all I've got to do is run them through the machine.
Also need to pack my secondary hospital bag. I'm really hoping to be discharged straight from delivery and not go onto a ward (its my second birth) so I'm only taking in a small amount of stuff, but I'll have a second bag in the car (mostly full of knickers so far ) incase I'm in overnight.
I've found if I do a bit of nipple twiddling then squeeze boobs gently from body to nipple then I can get out quite a few drops of colostrum, but I'm certainly not leaking.
I put some more photos on facebook of me 36 weeks pregnant last time and this time, and so far people think this bump is rounder. Also my friend who has a ds and dd said her morning sickness returned with ds but not dd, so current bets are this one's a boy!!

Debs75 · 03/09/2008 19:32

Carrieon you are so lucky I just strated going through my bag and putting in clothes for me and where have all my knickers and socks gone????? This is bad I only have 3 pairs of socks that match, haven't been wearing them all summer as sandals are easier to put on but that doesn't explain the knicker front will have to go to mothercare tomorrow and get some more

jearund · 03/09/2008 19:40

Deb75 a colleague of mine gave birth 3 weeks ago and she actually drove home a few hours afterwards as her DH was tired and she said she felt fine!!!!! It was her first baby and she had a really easy waterbirth with just TENS and gas and air.

As for driving before well I am still going - 37+2 today. The only reason I can think of for not doing would be if the contractions started or waters broke while you were driving but if it's just short journeys I would probably just drive if I needed to but not if DH was with me as he could instead.

carrieon · 03/09/2008 19:42

I have the problem that if I pack all the knickers I need, then I've got none to wear for the next 3 weeks! I've got 8 pairs of disposables but they won't last long...
I don't think I'll pack socks - I've packed plastic flip-flops as my only footwear coz they're wipe clean

Debs75 · 03/09/2008 19:51

I think i will just see how long i can get into the car comfortably and if I can last up till the birth keep going. I have a parking permit for the hospital so if they won't let me drive home it will have to wait till someone can pick it up.

cranmorefifi · 03/09/2008 20:07

debs75 you're not thinking of driving yourself to the hospital are you???

DebitheScot · 03/09/2008 20:17

debs your feet are likely to be more swolen after the birth than before so you prob won't want socks on anyway.

foxytocin starlight and the others who had advice- thanks for the feeding comments. Ds has been still very sleepy today but has been easier to wake up to feed when I've wanted him to. Still only every 4 hours or so but he seems to be taking a reasonable amount and isn't dehydrated or anything. If he's still this dozy in a week or so I might start to worry but I know it's normal at the moment (just that ds1 was never as sleepy so it seems like ds2 is sleeping too much but I don't think he is and I don't want him to sleep less really- esp at night- but I know he prob will)

carrieon · 03/09/2008 20:24

debi dd slept for every moment of the day that she wasn't feeding (and she didn't feed very much) for the first few weeks, and would fall asleep at the drop of a hat for the first few months (including falling asleep standing up!). It was a standing joke that no one knew her eye colour coz we never got to see it! Enjoy it while it lasts - they suddenly wake up and you'll realise you didn't make the most of it!!

plusonemore · 03/09/2008 20:25

hi all, its getting exciting isnt it?!
back at work this week and next (teacher) and am really tired already. hope i last the 2 wks.

2 nights ago and then again at lunch today i've had a run of about half hours worth of horrible crampy BH, bout every 5 mins. anyone else like this?

eandz · 03/09/2008 20:50

plusonemore

how long will you be taking off when you have the baby?

i've never met anyone as brave as you or my stepmother before. i would like to offer you some carrot cake.

munkimom
i know you'll think i'm using you, but do you have any ideas on how to get my pineapple upside down cakes not to be soo dense? i'm using the kitchen aid artisian mixer if that helps.

biglips · 03/09/2008 20:59

im gonna call my midwife tmrw as my belly is sooo sore as its rock solid since Monday (had ECV) so feels like im having permanent BH's and if baby kicks me it really hurt!. my tummy only relaxed when im lying down in bed. Also my back feels sore as dull ache.

carrieon · 03/09/2008 21:02

Has anyone else had no BH?! This baby is never gonna come out...

biglips · 03/09/2008 21:05

carrie - i never had any BH's with my first at all....no pains whatsoever!...this one ive had it since i was 4 months pg...on and off but often.

biglips · 03/09/2008 21:08

and also ive emptying my bowels all day today

Debs75 · 03/09/2008 21:14

They are thinking about inducing me so if they do i can drive there and if not the hospital is only about 10 mins away.
I once drove through false labour pains when I had bowel troubles (can't remember the name mumnesia a bit bad) it felt like I was going through labour but only on my left side. If it gets bad will call a taxi.

carrieon · 03/09/2008 21:18

biglips me too but I think its all the fruit and fibre I've been eating to counteract the effects of the iron tablets!

eandz · 03/09/2008 21:19

deep down inside, i feel like my baby will never come out either.

SO DRAMA ALERT

remember how my ex consultant told me i had pnd? he then made an appointment with a therapist in his practice (after he had me go to all the other partners in his office) anyway his secretary called to tell me about the appointment and i told her i wasn't going to go. the consultant than called my husband urging him to talk me into going and my husband told him that he wasn't comfortable with talking me into something i was determined not to do....so i canceled the appointment with the therapist point blank because i just did not feel the need to see her. The appointment/and all relating drama happened within a 24 hour period and mostly against my consent!

This Morning
I get a letter in the mail with a bill for £250.00 and an angry letter about canceling the appointment at the last minute and about how unprofessional the time of cancellation had been and that I shouldn't have made the request if I wasn't seriously interested in help.

I'm going to have a very long and angry phone conversation tomorrow with everyone involved except dh.

mamamufin · 03/09/2008 21:19

Gosh Hi guys
I am going to make sure I keep updated with you guys every few hours now as its just took me ages to catch up and I am getting all mixed up.
Dg your birth story is fab, thank you for sharing it with us.
Good luck for tomorro meglet
I have been busy with ds cramming in lots activities while I still can.

I am getting prepared now,I have had my feet and toes done this evening all painted and sparkly. My bits are as trimmed and shaped as they are gonna get. False tan is developing over a number of days, eyebrows in check. I need my hair done next week now. I think I am going to meet the queen not have a baby . Think I am just trying to keep busy really.

Oh and by the time I chopped/ cut and sorted out the pinapple very little of it was left to eat. Anyone know how to prepare a pinapple properly, or is there a properly?

It sounds hopeful that there will be a couple more births soon good luck!

gonna have almost a year off, so will go back for the start of the next academic year, its gonna mean some unpaid time but i think its worth it, especially as this is probably the last baby i'll be having!

so no-one else having lots of BH within short space of time? wonder if its cos baby is back to back.

Oh i know what i was wondering- if your placenta is at the front is that more likely to make babu back to back?

eandz · 03/09/2008 21:28

starlight
i'm just happy i switched consultants. but the aftermath is horrendous! i hate drama to top it all off.

plusonemore · 03/09/2008 21:29

hee hee
