Gah! Just back to join hopefully in whinging about indigestion. Why is is getting WORSE? Is the baby actually travelling UP my body? Have midwife on Thursday and I'm hoping she'll say he's a tiny bit engaged at least, but it doesn't seem hopeful.

Starlight - I like your nausea 'n' hrmones theory as I too have been revisited by morning sickness - bloody awful, especially as I'm still working (finish on Friday hoorah!) and its very hard to motivate myself to get out of the house without feeling sick and having to have a lie down.

God, I don't want to be pregnant ANYMORE!

mamamufin · 02/09/2008 16:42

Poor you with the sickness charity how awful. I am praying I dont get a return the ms days are very fresh in my memory still and probably will be forever .

I am with you to get theses babies out now. Getting fed up.

hopefully · 02/09/2008 17:09

Poor you charitygirl!

Oooh, bread rising! I forgot! will be back to post whatever I was going to post when I've put it in the oven,...

hopefully · 02/09/2008 17:25

And now I have forgotten what I was going to say...

lollipopmother · 02/09/2008 17:32

I just managed to get an hour and a quarter sleep without waking up once, why the hell can't I do that at night?!

Pains seem to have gone now, bloody things, but at least I got my smug on for a little bit! AND I have a a back-up pineapple!

eandz · 02/09/2008 17:35

hi everyone!
i had a busy-ish day. i'll be back tonight!

MunkiMom · 02/09/2008 17:36

LOL HopeF

mmmMMMmmm! fresh baked bread! that's it. I'm definitely making this carrot cake today. ((may as well add a bit more cushion on my backside to get ready for all the pushing!))

wow so much activity going on today!
deb i know many have already said it, but it's a great birth story! very in & out!
Congrats!!!!

on the indigestion front, i was fine throughout this pregnancy until my SIL (she's @ 34w) asked me about a month ago about having it. and of course the next morning, i awoke with vicious heartburn!!! and it hasn't let up since. im not a milk drinker so i'v just settled with chalky rennies. no worries. hopefully not too much longer now.

as far as eandz, i was wondering the same...i've been out all day but while catching up with all the posts, i noticed her absence as well. perhaps she's been spending the day out while she can...or maybe we'll hear another birth story soon??? heheh

MunkiMom · 02/09/2008 17:37

...and then our question has been answered

barnpot · 02/09/2008 18:23

Just eaten the roast pork I cooked, I'm not a chef or like preparing food, but I got lots of yummy noises from DH, feel so proud of myself

OP posts:
hopefully · 02/09/2008 18:28

lol at 'back-up pineapple' Lollipop! It's a pineapple in case of emergencies... I am going to buy one tomorrow for my due date celebration!

Well done on the cooking barnpot, my bread rolls are looking rather nice (if a leeetle bit enormous), going to have them with soup later.

barnpot · 02/09/2008 19:00

I love having all this time to myself eventhough size of a whale.
mmmm can smell bread rolls from here sounds nice hopefully

OP posts:
carrieon · 02/09/2008 19:03

Evening all you pineapple munchers!
I had the most sleep ever last night...dd didn't cry out and I only had two loo trips, wow!! Must have got, oooh, whole minutes of sleep...
Well having finally caught up on messages, our dinner guests have arrived and I have to go and be polite. Catch up with you tomorrow!

MunkiMom · 02/09/2008 19:35

ok, so both the bread rolls and the pork sound delicious!!! so i have the afters to go with them! ((and no, its not a whole pineapple! )) lol just got the carrot cake out of the oven...had a little taste and its yummy, but not the best ((felt it was necessary to omit the walnuts seeing as ds lurves the cake as well.)) ahh, but don't worry, i'll still be eating it

meglet · 02/09/2008 19:39

hopefully i love the idea of a due date celebration! I drank loads of pineapple juice last time, but it just upset my tummy.

I only have 36 hours left now before I have to be in hospital . The house is tidy, laundry bin empty, cupboards and freezer stocked with meals and snacks for DP and DS. All I really must do is clean the guinea pigs hutch out and run the Dyson round the house. I'm not going to eat much tomorrow as I want my system to be cleared out before the op so I don't get bunged up afterwards .

After tomorrow I probably won't be back on here to let you know what has happened until Monday. There's no way I'm giving DP my MN name and password to break the news, he will get up to mischief .

ninja · 02/09/2008 20:08

Hi pidge I'm still at work too for a couple of weeks - I'm stopping a week before my due date as DD was 5 days early and I was meant to be in work the day before last time. You are brave even contemplating a bike ride though!

Debithescot what a lovely birth story - can I have one like that? The pictures are lovely and you look great in that wetsuit - I didn't fancy wearing one this summer!

All that cooking's making me hungry!

I'll post the Thrush diet in a mo

x

splishsplosh · 02/09/2008 20:56

Good luck Meglet, hope it all goes well. You sound sooo organised
I vow to spend the next few days sorting things out and becoming organised too.

Ipanemagirl - the hospital does seem OK, especially as it's a big London teaching hospital, and is consultant led. I'm sad to miss out on the MLU at my local hospital which is supposed to be really homely, but it sounds like they're very restricting in who they let in anyway, and all depends on staffing levels too.

I'm just anxious about getting there in case things happen really quickly. Especially as "partner" is becoming ever more unreliable, staying out til early hours and not always answering his phone... I'm on the verge of chucking him out once and for all

Debs75 · 02/09/2008 21:11

Hi all just found out that due to my GD may have to be induced am 37 weeks baby is 3/5 and by the look of the scan absolutely huge. Got my bags packed and off to get nursing bras tomorrow. Cause of GD have to have baby in new womens and childrens maternity unit which out of all my friends and family who have had kids there sound awful, a real in and out place and the nurses don't want to know if you are on 2nd or 3rd child. I've had a 9 year gap and can't remember much about newborns, i won't get too worried tho I have to try something to get of this heartburn run out of gaviscon and don't get new prescription for 2 days, anyone know what else i can use

mumiyumi · 02/09/2008 21:46

Thanks ninja for the diet,i might have to give it a go, it may be my only option now!

Feeling strange...have had tightnings, since 5ish and a small amount of a jelly type mucus, tightnings aren't a regular pattern but def there...hers hoping something will develop overnight fingers crossed.

No eandz how strange

notcitrus · 02/09/2008 22:04

OK, am I the only one sort of in denial or disbelief that a baby is going to arrive shortly? Part of me is convinced he's not going to turn up for another 3-4 weeks so I should just chill out, while another part is panicking he's going to turn up tomorrow and we don't even have any disposable nappies.

I keep tropical fish and my favourite one died today (looked fine last night), and I know I haven't been changing the water with my usual attention or frequency, so I'm now worried that if I can't keep a fish alive that I won't be able to look after a baby properly either. MrNC tries to reassure me that babies shout loudly when they are not happy or ill, but what if we get a poorly one who doesn't?

Also I know that having a child isn't the end of life as I know it, but I keep thinking there's things I ought to do first - except I can't walk enough to do the obvious one, which is go to the theatre lots. Bah. Every time I get a wierd sensation I worry that it's the start of a contraction - I really just don't feel ready to have a baby. Not sure how I'm going to feel more ready any time in the next month, either.

Still, at least the builder panicked when he heard the head was engaged, electrician came today and a couple other guys, and full crew turn up tomorrow. Allegedly...

eandz · 02/09/2008 22:15

it's nice to be missed!

but just had massive deforestation of all my hairy bits, eyebrow threading (from hell!) this morning followed by a haircut. they wouldn't give me a hollywood because they were afraid of how sensitive my skin is. so it looks like i'll have to have dh epilate me down there. i feel soo ugh about that, but i guess it's something i feel like i'll regret not doing.

after the non beauty treatments i went for a doctors appointment to talk over my birth plan and everything seems to be in order.

my best friend who is going to come stay with us came by to help me do some last minute decorating (so my mom won't get all judgey when she comes) came by and then we had a couple from the neighborhood come by for dinner. (it's soo hard to get to know your neighbors here!!!)

beautiful story debithescot i can't wait to put mine on, but to be fair i will wait.

i will be a good girl and not try to force my little one out until i just can't bear it anymore...i will refrain from my impatient ness by planning things out.

i plan on going out to lunch with a few other pregna people tomorrow afternoon, i'm kind of excited because one of them is due the same day as me and it makes me feel like i have a real chance of making a mommy buddy!!!

...now, i've caught ALL of you up after reading everyones posts. i feel better .

MunkiMom · 02/09/2008 22:17

i suspect we'll have more than one new arrival in the next 48 hours!!!

((not necessarily from me, not to tempt fate just yet or anything ...even though little man has been behaving very strangely today, i.e. a bit more pressure every once in a while on my back end and the vajayjay ..))

but i don't think it's my time just yet.

however!!!! sure sounds like it's time for a few others on this thread!

good luck and fingers crossed for those of you who are on your way to something planned and to those getting the "feeling" of it happening soon!
xx

jearund · 02/09/2008 22:26

milkbeard good luck for tomorrow! At least 38 weeks is fine though - he's been full term for a week now so he'll be fine.

Eandz Ouch! I haven't been able to epilate since I got pregnant, let alone down there. It's shaving for me I'm afraid.....
