wow, all you guys are so good with your waxing. Margot, made me LOL as you have now aquired 'the glam one' rep! hana, a brazillian...weeelll...depends if you would feel self conscious infront of the (often male) doctors - if you wouldn't care then go for it. But also, how long does it take to grow, because if I did it at 38 weeks, expecting labour could be at any time, but didn't give birth for another 3 weeks, it would certainly be at an itchy stubble stage. And you won't be able to get it done for a while after with the HUUUUUUUUUUGE maternity pads you'll be wearing!

Pinkali, glad everything is ok. That was a long time in hospital though - East London standards (although that's with an appointment!). Your hospital sounds really great, very reassuring that you are having such good care.

Roca · 27/08/2008 18:44

Hey All,

That was all a bit of an odd post - eh!

misdee · 27/08/2008 18:54

[sobs]

3months left

[sobs again]

its tooo long

pregnancy should be 7 days max!

Roca · 27/08/2008 19:04

3 months left IS too long

3 months left is not long enough

misdee · 27/08/2008 19:13

i have to move house in that time.

but right now i feel so crummy i want it to be over now.

just want it to be november now.

coolkat · 27/08/2008 19:17

[sobs to]

Back at work, no job in sept 09, loads of redundancies, up since 3 this morning due to back ache, bump rock hard, FED UP.

Feel like signing on sick until 34 weeks then start Mat leave early, work is horrendous as about 40% of us are jobless come sept - Hormones not helping......

Sorry will go again now.....!

Roca · 27/08/2008 19:20

Feel for you with a house move Misdee - are you excited though?

I want to go through the whole house and get organised as think that is they only way to get through having 3 kids in a 2 bed house - I just know when I finally get round to sorting things though that I won't physically be up to it so will just get frustrated.

Are you mrs organised with all your clan?

LackaDAISYcal · 27/08/2008 19:20

don't think 3months.....think 12 weeks as it sounds better psychologically...

the childcare voucher thing sounds like a nightmare and I'm glad /i'm not having to go through with it here. Sounds like a case of the left hand not knowing what the right is doing. And surely this is going to put a lot of employers off from offereing the voucher scheme in the first place.

I am officially on maternity leave now and haven't heard a peep from my employers since I wrote to the with my MATB1 at the end of July....feckers. I sent another email today and just got a response back. I had figured out I'd get about £200 a week for the first six weeks.........email says £506 per week

on that subject, I had to do a bit of creative shaving before my emCS with DD....but obviously couldn't do it myself so got DH to do it for me. That was a fecking scary experience I must say, so pinkali I think you are very brave letting your DH anywhere near you with a pot of hot wax

LackaDAISYcal · 27/08/2008 19:22

We were hoping to have the living room and stairwell decorated before the baby comes.......in our case 10 weeks is not long enough.

Can't believe we are spending another Christmas in an old folk's home.

Roca · 27/08/2008 19:22

oh cool cat - can I sign myself off sick with you too please - just have to work out what to do with the kids in the meantime...

Roca · 27/08/2008 19:24

Lacks - you make sure you treat yourself to something nice!

misdee · 27/08/2008 19:24

i am mrs stressed with my clan atm, they are driving me bonkers, next week will be easier as older two are back at school (hooray), and dd3 starts nursery the week after (i think?).

am excited about the house move, am looking forward to resecorating and making the house my own iykwuim, but am hating all the packing we have to do. am waiting on some money to come through so i can book removals, but that cant be done till web set an actual date really, so atm, its just packing with no secure date to move.

I am quite as managed to get the moses basket i wanted for £25 with a stand, instead of £89 for the basket alone. plus got a cot bumper for £15 instead of £45. i love ebay. am looking out for the other bits i want as well (mamas and papas gingerbread range). dont mind second hand stuff if its good condition.

Roca · 27/08/2008 19:28

I've asked for the Gingerbread cot mobile from friends - I love that range. With DS I got lent a mobile and with DD I never got round to putting one on her cot!

misdee · 27/08/2008 19:30

i might add that to my gift list lol.

suiledonn · 27/08/2008 19:30

Haven't been in hiding either. Had dd's paediatrican appointment today for asthma and eczema. He is pleased with her progress on the inhalers and she is staying on the preventer one until the winter is over and he will review her again. He prescribed Emuovate (sp?) for the eczema as it is worse since he last saw her. We haven't used it before so fingers crossed it will help.

Hope all those with the voucher problems get sorted. It must be annoying having to deal with it all.

I had to laugh at Pinkali's dh helping out with such a delicate procedure. It took me a lot of persuading the get dh to help me cut my toesnails the other day so can't imagine what he would say if I suggested a bikini wax

ceebee74 · 27/08/2008 19:55

Phew - breathes a huge sigh of relief that you have all come back to the thread

Sparkle and Vbab - will start a new thread - will post the link in a mo so that we can have our voucher conversations away from here and stop boring everyone else!!

My bikini line has completely grown out of control - I haven't been swimming for a few weeks now so have had no reason to really do anything about it - DH is now complaining about it and has suggested I lie on the bed with a mirror I got a pg magazine yesterday which had a nice tankini from Mothercare in it - the bottoms were shorts rather than briefs and it actually said this was good as it meant you didn't have to bother with your bikini line - definitely sounds like a positive to me

As for my EmCS, the MW attacked the top of my hair down below with a dry razor and no cream - lovely!! Wasn't half itchy when it started to grow back.

LadyBuzz · 27/08/2008 20:02

Oooh Ceebee I was the same it was so bad I have asked DH well in advance if he will do mine BEFORE I go in just in case. I might just have a wax instead. Pinkali you are vv brave to let DH help!!
misdee good luck with the move.
I will hit the big 30 tommorow and I am going to celebrate by goibg out for lunch and eating loads - yum!

ceebee74 · 27/08/2008 20:06

here is the thread about vouchers for Vbab & Sparks (and anyone else who may be interested!)

vbab78 · 27/08/2008 21:09

misdee - wow. you are superwoman.

RE: Childcare vouchers ... BORING me never!

waxing - Something that I've thought loads of times about having done but never got up the courage.

I assume waxing does hurt but how bad is it really?

Also feel embarrassed at having EVERYTHING waxed .

Shall I go for it ladies? If I did how long do you have to let stuff grow for and how long does waxing last?

Definitely couldn't ask never mind ask DH to do the waxing.

barbareebaa · 27/08/2008 21:18

See now this is the stuff you don't get to read about in the pregnancy books!!

I love mumsnet

just out of interest... do you have to grow everything before it can be waxed iyswim?

Dozymare · 27/08/2008 21:20

hello all - am around as well but feeling a bit harrassed as well.....definately can't wait for school to commence again as I haven't got the energy ATM for 2 VERY active DS's!!

As for the whole childcare thing - I am at a loss as to what you are talking about [BLUSH] Although I am wondering if I should have been claiming help with my childcare costs this past year or so....good luck to you all, sounds a nightmare!

As for the whole shave debate, my EMCS was roughly shaved by a MW - learnt my lesson with DS2 and rather than wax when pregnant have been using the Nair 5 minute in shower "sex and city" sponsored hair remover...so easy to use and lasts just as long as waxing..plus far more dignified than my usual waxer getting me to "lift" by babybelly up!!!

missdee good luck with the move, we did it with DS1 and can only imagine what it must be like with 3 dd's. BTW, how is DH doing after his visit to hospital a few weeks back?

I think my suspected UTI is in fact a bacterial infection, they took urine sample at hospital today but it was clear on the dipstick although they sent it away for cultural growth....Now have a slight "smell" (sorry TMI but figured we have discussed literally everything on this thread and you won't be mean to me about it) Has anyone had this or any idea what it could be??? Have a dull ache behind my ladybits on left hand side as well.......

Is anyone watching the elephant progeamme on BBC2 - it is amazing...

chocolategal · 27/08/2008 21:25

LOL vbab i got my bikini wax last week, have always got this done and dont actually find it too sore! the underneath bit is a bit sore but it honestly only lasts seconds!
i only go every 5weeks
GOODLUCK!

just back from tesco where i have bought a mountain of baby things!!
they had a baby fair on?! which just meant everything baby like was in the big promotional section for suckers like me to buy lots!!!

chocolategal · 27/08/2008 21:27

cross posts there dozy, maybe a thrush infection???

MonkeyMargot · 27/08/2008 21:36

vbab - I always have a Brazilian - and it really doesn't hurt as much as you might think. It is so, soo nice to get rid of all the "undercarriage" hair. I will have another one at 39 weeks in preparation for B-day.
P.S. I also get the beauty therapist to wax my big toes at the same time!!

Dozymare · 27/08/2008 21:45

oh CHOCOLATEGAL WHAT DID YOU BUY?? (sorry not shouting, can't be bothered to delte and re=type!)

Not crossed posts, I replied about 8pm but it only appeared n ow.....strange.....

Monekymargot PMSL at toe hair!!!
