Morning all vv groggy up 4 times in night. Well not properly up but awake and feeding and changing and getting muddled with times etc. How is everyone so sane???

TS news please!

AnnVan hope you get some nap time.

AnnVan · 19/08/2008 08:30

Ok that didn't work. Im so tired my head is spinnning, but the moment I lie down to try and sleep, the blardy restless legs are kicking in>

Where can I get some of this spatone I've heard you ladies talk about?

oopsacoconut · 19/08/2008 08:31

Morning All

All you BF mums ready inspire me - you are all awake at odd hours (some of you pumping!!)feeding and dealing with your babies and they you are on here cheerful and being human - I hope I can be half as human.

Annvan Hope sleep is happening for you.

TS this is no longer funny hope you and Reese are sleeping peacefully after an amazing birth with harps and doves etc, etc,etc...

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 19/08/2008 08:37

Annvan you can get spatone from boots or maybe even your local chemist oh and Holland and Barrats(sp?)
I ve been up since 3 propped up on sofa with a mountain of cushions. Can no longer lay down on said due to some strange feeling/pain in my side.

Was having contractions last night (which were obviosly BH'S) Started around 8 were every 5-6 minutes for about an hour. then got closer then random. This went on till 11pm. So decided to go to bed to rest, while they were bareable just incase they kicked off.
But soon as I lay down they stopped.
I also had very very strange sensation/pain in groin area.
This am I have slight period pains.
Cant wait to here from Ts

oopsacoconut · 19/08/2008 08:42

DH just blew a rasberry on my bump and gave this baby such a fright she jumped, so I yelled at him for making her possibly unengage with his dumb noise (not my exact words though) - Guess what kind of day it's going to be today? Also sex is off the menu as he has just realised there is a baby in there??[shock} We what did he think I've been growning all this time then???

PetitFilou1 · 19/08/2008 09:02

Hello all

annvan You have some fellow insomniacs on the pregnancy board but I think they are just asking for help! You can get spatone from Waitrose too - but I'm not sure more iron will help with restless legs - I thought it was potassium for that???

dizzy Good luck with dd starting school today -very exciting for her. I hope she takes to it. I can't wait for ds1 to go (in a good way) - he has been ready to go for ages.

oops Have had a few very mild period pains too but nothing to write home about. dh is very nervous about the home birth. I wish he had told me not to do it now because he is so anxious I'm fine about it but he seems very worried about what to do with the dcs. Our neighbour said 'we'll take them for 10 or 15 minutes while you wait for your parents or inlaws' Nice offer - but what are they going to travel in - a bloody helicopter! They are all at least 2 1/2 hours drive away!

gigglegirl I think it is pretty normal for lochia bleeding to start and stop for a while. I'm sure mine did last time.

knockoff GOOD LUCK!

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 19/08/2008 09:03

aw poor little baby.
Lol at dh wondering whats been growing.
I am contemplating cutting my nose off to spite my face when I am ready for sex after baby. As dh hasnt/wont come anywhere near me since we conceived. So may decide not to go near him

norbert GOOD LUCK!!!

sazz to your pumping dedication!!!!

dizzy more good luck to dd1!

giggle in awe of your out and about-ness!

annvan sleep vibes

no1 lol at post baby sex refusal. Gosh yes we've not done the deed since henry was conceived (fear after the bleeding mainly as well as me feeling so so sick). Am not doing anything til I am safely back on depo or got the implant - whichever I decide on. I am NOT NOT NOT ever being pg or havign a newborn again!!!

Henry had a feeding frenzy til half midnight. I was upset cos he was howling - he was so frustrated. I think he ws tired but also hingry and wanting to be held, but wanting milk at same time. BUT he then went thorugh til almost half 5, had a 20 min feed and went off again. 20 min feed at 8 ish and is still asleep and I was actually feeling able to get up and not sleep too.... Had brekkie, got baby monitor on... waiting for dh to get back from dropping dd at holiday club so i can go have a shower! Bad news - we're OUT of tea bags . Since i've been no longer pg and able to gizzle tolerate tea again our tea bag use has hit record numbers!

And after my super bfc's visit last night - my left side is a little less sore. My positioning was odd a tad. Right sie positioning a bit off but not as urgent as not sore on that side....

Big day today - this eve dh will try a tommee tippee (went and bought them yest) bottle of ebm to see how ds goes with it!!!

Re bleeding. at almost 4 weeks post partum I'm still bleeding. Not alot, but enough to need a st on all day. i sem to remmber it going on 6 weeks with dd.

PetitFilou1 · 19/08/2008 09:32

sazzles yes dh is back - thankfully. Very grumpy though. We are both very tense waiting for this one to arrive. I can't remember it being like this the last two times. I'm not sleeping well now (nothing like poor annvan though) and just want him to hurry up out of there! I'm not reckoning on labour taking from 9pm to 5am but you never know! I will get a shock if it is a longer labour than last time.

I'm also hoping TS is ok - the silence is bit eerie isn't it...!

sazzles Ah but last time from first twinge to babe wrapped in arms was 2 1/2 hours!

Sorry Emma is being poked about so much and hope she's put on some weight....

Off to shops now, hoping waters break in town through walking about but I doubt it!

VintageGardenia · 19/08/2008 10:09

Urrggh feel horrible today. House is a wreck, though thankfully visitors have tailed off finally, only one yesterday with two small children. I can't even put my finger on why visitors are so bothersome, except that feeding is always restricted and more tense, and they make me so tired for some reason. I don't mind making the cups of tea etc. Children are difficult though.

Oh I am rambling.

I want to sleep.

I am so in love with my baby and so proud of my elder DS but all I want to do is sleep and when I'm awake all I can do is weep. I think I am making DP feel awkward which makes me feel annoyed with him for not just getting it all straight off.

Help, wise birds. No further contact with health types till six week check.

VintageGardenia · 19/08/2008 10:10

Oh - and even standy-still tennis for 10 mins makes your back and pelvis feel like shite the next day.

Not recommended.

micromum · 19/08/2008 10:14

Good morning all,

Hope your all not, to sleep deprived.

TS hope everything has gone smoothly for you, it's probably the middle of the night, but can't wait to hear how you've got on.

Giggle I'm really impressed with you, 4 DC to Chester zoo. So is having 4 much different to having 3 as i'll be in the same boat as you when this one decided's to come out. Were your after birth pains worse this time than last (if you had any )??

If you have been out walking all day round the zoo it will make you bleed more ie. circulation.

Sibh My 3 girls ages are 7, 5 and 23
months. How are you getting on ?

cyteen · 19/08/2008 10:35

Welcome Nezzi and micromum

Can't believe we've heard nothing from TS! It's just unnatural... Really hope all is going well and the Surfers are all cuddled up together with their newest arrival.

Sending happy vibes to Knockoff and eldest dixie for their respective big days and lots of tissues at the ready for dizzy as she waves her girl off to school with a proud tear in her eye.

Had a pretty lame night's sleep last night, although nothing as bad as AnnVan - poor you, I can't believe the insomnia is still hitting you so hard My sleep was only bad because I woke up one thousand times needing a wee, and then had a horrid nightmare and woke up again at 4.30am. Woke DP up too - bless him, he's such a sweetie, he kept me company when I couldn't get back to sleep.

Baby seems to be wriggling downward and also trying to tunnel out through my sides...am seeing the mw tomorrow, I really hope she'll tell me he's fully engaged and I'm 2cm dilated already Some hope. At least then I'd have something to tell my nan, who is doing the classic 'phone every few days to see if anything is happening yet' routine. FFS, I will tell you when something is happening, I love you and all but leave me alone till then!

[ungrateful emoticon]

gigglegirl · 19/08/2008 10:37

morning all!!

Didn't do too badly last night - Imogen slept 1m til 3am and then 4am to 7:30 in bed with me - woke with right boob ready to explode. She then went back to sleep and is stirring now. I have managed to tidy the hallway and hoover but boys are being a right nuisance!

aaarrrrggghhhh -clinic just phoned - heel prick blood was insufficient so they have to do it again - poor thing won't have any blood left after all these tests - two of her bilirubin ones came back insufficient too!

micromum didn't really notice the afterpains this time as had a c-section and was on pain killers - i remember them being awful with my third though. I would ask for some cocodomal to be prescribed - got rid of them for me - and they don't last too long. My kids are 5, 3 and 2 - so it is quite hard work but I woudn't say 4 is really any hrader than 3 so far - in fat being off work and now being able o walk without crutches has made it seem a bit easier!

right off to feed the little one - will check back later.

dizzydixies · 19/08/2008 10:48

VG why on earth are you having visitors?!?! I told dh under no circumstances for the first few weeks so I could rest and get feeding established - no wonder you're sodding knackered and weepy - hormones/huge baby and feeding, you need to close the doors and take time for you and family

dd1 did fine this morning, cared not a jot she was being sent to school in red checked summer dress in the P*SSING rain didn't even look up to say goodbye to me either - wee sod! I only had one wobble when one of the other mums asked how my mum was as she hadn't heard - never mind, one wobble was better than expected

only on to check on TS!!! where is she - hopefully snuggled up with Reese

will check back later and read all the posts and put up some photos of dd1

fab news sazzles hopefully they will leave you to get on now!

alittlebitshy · 19/08/2008 11:44

brilliant weight gain for emma sazzles dizzy glad it went ok, including one wobble ((hugs))
vgvisitors with children are a PAIN. I had one when henry was 6 days old (what was i thinking?) and she did not seme to get that it wasn't like normal. I had to text dh to get him back to get rid of them .
I'm venturing out a bit later. to macdonalds which i never do. dd has been twice - both with other ppl. This is with some friends of mine - one had a second baby in may, so I'm kind of making closer friends with them if that makes sense, so I have friends with babies Henry's age cos I don;t thik i'll make as many new ones like with dd cos of also needing to be doing dd's stuff.....

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 19/08/2008 12:33

wonder how TS is doing.

KnockOffNorbert · 19/08/2008 13:08

Argh - back again! Had a sweep (tried to back out of it but he said he'd need to check my cervix really anyway so I said ok...) and it was agony agony agony. Squeezed the poor MWs hand to pulp I think! THe poor fella was trying to get it done quickly as possible, but it's all done now! (not without tears!) Good news is (and what made it worthwhile I guess) I am 2-3cm already and cervix is soft so he thinks I should probably go into labour soon, but am properly booked in for Thursday 7.30 am (!). He said I won't have the gel this time, all he'll probably need to do is break my waters. Sooooo glad to be home and be able to get some rest - only had 2 1/2 hours sleep last night I was so scared. Sooooo... will hopefully pop naturally tonight/tomorrow or am definatly booked in for Thursday.

Quickly scanned thread - whoever asked about SPATONE you can get it in tescos usually - near preg. vitamins, diet supplements etc.

PetitFilou1 · 19/08/2008 13:33

Oh knockoff you poor thing - at least it is over with.

Where oh where is TS??

mummypud · 19/08/2008 13:34
