alittlebitshy · 18/08/2008 16:25

trollsurfer you are ruly crazy - tho hopfully holding reese now/soon!!

cavey yay oliver. Considered getting henry weighed but went to the shops and for coffee instead. Then when it was too late I remembered that it's bank hol next week, so won't be weighed then .

Sazzles oops at vavlve fiasco. On the plus side medela pumps (imho) are v good. I've got my friend's double pump - tho I only use one side at a time atm.

poppysocks you;ll get used to the na,ke. Occasionally i think what a big responsibility it was to name Henry - and do I like it/ will he etc etc.... i guess that's the nature of being a parent - esp a mummy.

boobs needed to be got out again - off i go

alittlebitshy · 18/08/2008 16:27

poppysocks i meant NAME obviously . my typing/proofing gets worse......

mummypud · 18/08/2008 16:38

micromum · 18/08/2008 17:09

Hi,

Can i join your thread too, i,ve been following for a while. I,m due my 4th on the 26th Aug thought it might come early but it doesn't look like it.

TS - I think your great being able to post when your in labour, good luck hope all goes well

Nezzi · 18/08/2008 17:12

Thank you all for welcoming me.

CC I live in Manchester. Briefly, I'm 37 and this is my 1st baby. Partner is 29 and baby was his idea although I can see now that he didn't think this through, the bloomin olympics seems more important to him at the moment! Can't wait for bubs to arrive so his telly watching can be well and truly disrupted

Nezzi · 18/08/2008 17:14

Another newbie, hello micromum. Congrats on your 4th!

oopsacoconut · 18/08/2008 17:27

Helloooo Nezzi and Micromum Trollsurfer assuming radio silence is due to actual birthing going on!

CC Pleased Oliver is putting on weight.

S&M congrats on safe arrival of Chipolata.

will now try catch up with everyone else - went in to see DH at work and ended up doing accounts for him??? I thought that's what he hired an accounts clerk for

AnnVan · 18/08/2008 17:32

Hello all! welcome to Nezzi and Micromum
Nezzi you're welcome to join me and No1 at the bottom of the list.

TS - Its finally happening! No more teasing from babysurfer! Woo!

AnnVan · 18/08/2008 18:10

Oh no! I killed the thread again.

cheerfulvicky · 18/08/2008 18:10

Go TS! Exciting to hear things are happening, can't wait for the next update

Welcome Nezzi and micromum!

cheerfulvicky · 18/08/2008 18:11

Hehe, nope AnnVan, thread is still alive and kicking

Sibh · 18/08/2008 18:11

We must be the first ever mumsnet antenatal thread to have a streaming birth commentary.

Welcome to Nezzi and Micromum. Micromum, I've always loved being one of four. How old are your other three?

Nezzi, I find timing births with major sporting events is a bit of a plus. DD was a 'European Championships baby', DD2 is this Olympics. I only went astray with DS whose birth coincided with the 24 hour coverage of the start of the Iraq war. He was born the day Saddam's statue fell. Not quite so uplifting 'BF TV' ... I'm planning on timing late night feeds this autumn to coincide with Radio Five's American election coverage ...

Sazzles you are heroic being so calm about having to express on top of the normal feeding. That's a lot to take on.

I'll have to log in later for a Reese update ... I'm grabbing a breath after DH's first day back at work which went quite well really, thanks to DS being saintly about caring for his very wobbly DD.

Sibh · 18/08/2008 18:12

Annvan how is the sleep going by the way?

AnnVan · 18/08/2008 18:40

Not too great at the mo Sibh Didn't sleep last night at all, again due to heartburn and restless legs. I was so tired! I had a bit of sleep today, so noow am wandering if I'll sleep tonight.

KnockOffNorbert · 18/08/2008 19:12

Hey mummypud - you were due the same day as me. I still haven't had baby yet, being induced (hopefully, spare bed depending!) tomorrow.

KnockOffNorbert · 18/08/2008 19:13

Hello Micromum

ROFL at TS, hope everything's gone ok.

Have spent all afternoon feeding Kurt and making white choc, blackberry and gingernut cheesecake in very short bursts between feeds - was worth the effort. Just off to fetch another big slice and bed as he cannot possibly want any more milk for a couple of hours. My nipples are just burning!

Oh, think I am back in DS's goodbooks now, after blowing out a popcorn kernel he'd got stuck up his nose! 'Now, doesn't that show how much Mummy loves you?' 'Thank you Mummy'

Buckets · 18/08/2008 19:43

PS Am I the only one who is resenting the Olympics taking over the telly?

oopsacoconut · 18/08/2008 19:56

norbert how are the hips after your splits?

to all who need them.

Sazzles Don't worry about the bloods as long as you and DH can see a change in how she is and she poo'ing, pee'ing feeding she will be fine.

Buckets Yes the olympics are getting on my nerves - I need some variety in my telly watching

VintageGardenia · 18/08/2008 20:42

Hi there.

lwfh congrats on Tomas! Hope you're doing well - do you have family coming to you at any stage soon?

V funny getting streaming coverage from the birthing centre, TS, I take silence to mean things have got serious & the next time we hear from you will be to announce Reese officially. Thinking of you & wishing you well.

Sazz you're doing well by the sounds of things & appear miraculously good-tempered. Am feeling a bit weepy today myself so v. admiring of others being upbeat.

Played about 10 mins of tennis today against DS (against all advice but feel vv bad about not spending time with him) and have just had long feed with younger DS (still can't get used to DS1 and DS2 notation) who is sleeping now. (Reminds me of French & Saunders skit on Dr Quinn Medicine Woman - "she's sleeping now" is all Dr Q ever said). Let's hope for a good night, was patchy hour and half blocks last night, felt bit ragged this morning.

Buckets feel put to shame by you baking / feeding. Have done sod all in the kitchen bar a very watery kedgeree for my mum the other day. She bravely ate it and was even polite enough to ask for seconds! With you on the burning nipples, also have had no breast pads last four days, so v chapped. Ouch.

I think I hear a sound back in a bit.

Actually you catch me with pot in hand. Had been using Lansinoh but found it so hard (even squeezing out of tube) that applying it was sore. Vaseline just occurred earlier today as I soothed a little bottom with it. It's much softer & meltier.

Tennis - get thoughts of the Wimbledon final / leaping for lobs / stretching for low volleys at the net RIGHT out of your head. I stood in the midcourt and swatted mildly at whatever came near me.

Evening...

Hi nezzie & micromum, hope things are going well for you.

Omigod TS?!!! Am assuming that Reese has arrived by now (I really hope so for your sake).

sazzles - hope you are doing ok. Expressing at this stage can't be fun.

Hey VG - good to hear from you. Tennis?! I am very impressed!

LO had dropped so much overnight that even DH noticed . But not much else happening - MW tomorrow so will find out whether she really is about to stick and arm out and wave or whether she is just teasing.

So.. have done manic dancing with DSs (my alternative to star jumps - can't be doing with the arm movements), and shovelling gravel around today (I will do ANYTHING to keep them occupied from the hours of 6-7.30pm) - hoping that some serious activities like these will make something happen as I am very very BORED of this pregnancy now. And the nursery is finally finished .
