VG I totally agree with what you were saying earlier about this time being hard on the menfolk - my DP is the most sweet, supportive, even-tempered lovely you could ever meet, but he's been up and down with strange moods and stress for the last two months. Granted he is having a stressful time at work, and has also quit smoking (so proud ), but there's definitely a multiplier effect going on where everything seems to be affecting him much worse. It must be difficult to be on the outside yet so intimately involved, as it were.

Have a good evening everyone - I'm very grumpy so signing off now. Had enough of looking after the dcs on my own. dh has not been home to do their bath once this week - I'm reaching erupting volcano stage - believe me it is wise to be out of the way when that happens.

Congratulations to Voodoo and Albs! I am just popping in for a quick update of some good news. Saul is off oxygen, started breastfeeding today so they took out the feeding tube, the drip will be off by morning. Unfortunately, they won't let him home as he needs to finish a course of IV antibiotics. So, with a bit of luck, they will admit me and him to the transitional care ward tomorow for the next few days until he can come home. I am packing a bag tonight and taking it with me tomorow so I can nab a bed as soon as it becomes available.

There was a bit of drama this morning as there was a fire in one of the hospital buildings in the middle of the night. All the buildings at UCLH (covering many streets) are linked by underground tunnels. So the fire spread towards the maternity hospital. We got a call early this morning to say not to come to the hospital as it was all cordoned off and they were not letting anyone in. I eventually got to go around midday and it was still chaos with every doctor and nurse there. Apparantly they had been getting ready in the night to have to move all the babies out. Thehospital was closed all day to admissions (even the A+E) and they cancelled all the elective csections. They have no phone lines or computers running still this evening. I hope it is all sorted out by tomorow or they will not be able to put us on the transitional care ward as they would have to admit me and they are not taking admissions of any kind.

Hope all the pregnant ladies are coping with the heat.

VG I fully approve of the coat. I'm normally a 10/12, so I ordered a size 12. A little tight on the arms but I'm figuring thats the pg weight gain (I've put on around 2.5 to 3 stone). I love the colour. I was unsure when I first saw it but it got dh's seal of approval so it must be ok. LOL at secret YELLOW COAT SOCIETY. £23!! I paid £30 for mine!!

dizzy I did LOL at your suggestion of painting your feet black. Personally that is the option I would go for. I now have NO shoes that fit me. My feet actually HURT due to swelling .

Right. I am now praying that I will go into labour asap as I'm so uncomfortable. Very selfish of me, but I'm being honest.

AnnVan, DC2 was back to back and whilst it wasn't nice (particularly crowning), it wasn't sooo awful, except that he went up and down the birth canal about 4 times, at which point i was just 'for f**ks sake come out' - and he did (probably the only time he has been that obedient }! Also, had him at home so can be done without any major dramas.

Annvan re RLT I got the tablets from Holland & Barrett - they are the same strength as the tea (you can use the tablets to make the tea but openging the capsules & puring it into a cup) & I started taking them at 35 weeks.

There is certainly no love loss between us - he's such an arrogant arse.

I said from day 1 I wouldn't go as I would be days away from giving birth (I was 10 weeks PG when they got engaged) but was rail roaded into saying yes by my equally arrogant mother. The grief & endless phonecalls I would get from her if I didn't show just aren't worth it.

I am seriously considering going 'ooo-ahhh' & cluthing bump to get out of it
