blimey · 01/07/2008 22:59

so I went to the physio today re my right buttock pain and she diagnosed same as you mrsNC - pelvic girdle whatnot. So I have to stay balanced (no random standing on one leg) keep my legs clamped together whenever moving them to one side, do my pelvic floor exercises (darn it) put ice on it if I need to and pilates and a few more little exercises, oh and try a pelvic support jobbie which she measured me for. hmmm more to think about.
Got my OGTT on Thurs so the joy never ends...

very sorry to hear about the possible preeclampsia EandZ - things are most likely to be fine but it is more tests and more appts and worry, not what we preg ladeez need really.

hope everyone is ok and that pigeon gives you a break NC.

hopefully · 02/07/2008 09:24

Eandz try not to get too down - if for some reason you do have pre-eclampsia, it's not your fault, it's probably nothing to do with your previous conditions, and it's just bad luck. Don't think you're a failure! Probably it will all be fine anyway.

My buttock pain has returned with avengeance this morning. I can't quite decide what I think it is, as it literally only hurts when I'm walking - rolling around in bed (not that I do a great deal of that ) doesn't hurt or anything. I'm thinking sciatica?

Carrieon you did get rather a sarcastic response didn't you! I don't hjave any helpful advice, but it looks like some moe normal people joined your thread...

eandz · 02/07/2008 09:43

thanks everyone for the pre eclampsia support, i feel better and i guess i'll stop worrying till friday. and i'll keep positive no matter what!

carrieon · 02/07/2008 09:59

My whole day has been cancelled - coffee morning and swimming lessons. And dd tipped my cereal over our bed so I've got to wash all the milk out of the duvet and sheets. And I put her in white trousers for playing in the garden. WHY??!!
Mustn't moan, its a gloriously sunny day so at least the washing will dry quickly and it'll all be back on the bed in time for her to do the same thing tomorrow morning!

mustsleep · 02/07/2008 10:00

eandz hope things sort themselves out and all is ok xx

right well i called the pricks at hr this morning to be spoken to in a rude manner by a stuck up bitch

she said that as i was not dueto start maternity leave until 18th august that it won;t have been processed yet and that they prob won;t process till the end of July!!!!! well that's all well and good for them but on the job centre website wit the accompanying notes for the claimform formaternity allowance it says to claim as soon as you get your matb1 as you may lose money!!
she is supposed to be calling me back after speakingto payroll

well fuck them that's what i say i was going to start mat leave early as feel guilty about being off sick but now they can whistle will be off straight to docs for another note on friday or monday and will make sure i get the same doc as last time and get the note made out for another 2 weeks which should take me right up to my hols that i was taking

anyway on a lighter note i have ahd a delivery of all the conservatory stuff this morning so that's quite exciting to think that they should start tomorrow and have had my awful gas fire capped off ready for dh to put the new one on the wall!!

KashaSarrasin · 02/07/2008 10:05

Ladies, I have a birth announcement

DS2 (yes, he's a boy!) was born rather suddenly on Monday afternoon, weighing 1.39 kg, at 31 weeks. He's doing really well but is in the NICU in Leeds as there wasn't room for him at York. He's already off the ventilator and is tiny but beautiful . I am now spending most of my time either at the hospital or at home attached to a vicious-looking 1950s era breastpump but I'll try and update you all when I can. (and sorry I haven't been able to catch up with your posts!)

mustsleep · 02/07/2008 10:12

omg kasha congratulations!!!!

hope all is well and your new ds is doing well and of course that you are well too

biglips · 02/07/2008 10:12

Wow.....many congrats Kasha... xxx

hopefully · 02/07/2008 10:14

Congratulations! How exciting! Glad your DS and you are doing well. Don't envy you the 1950s-esque pump though!

Can I update the list? Can I?

izzybiz · 02/07/2008 10:14

I haven't been on for soooo long, I come on and find a birth announcement

Firstly Congratulations KS! I'm so plesed that your new arrival is doing well, will keep my fingers crossed for you and your new Ds.xx

All is ok here, getting fatter by the day now! Have consultant tommorrow, had physio for SPD, just given exercises.

Have finally started shopping, baby Bob has a drawer with his clothes starting to mount up, I have moses basket, car seat, monitors (bought for £4 at a fete!) I have bought some muslins and a special cushion thing to prevent "flathead" (Dd had this).

Getting very breathless, and swollen hands and fett when it gets hot, other than that, ok.

Hope everyone else is well. Em.xx

hopefully · 02/07/2008 10:15

Mustsleep how annoying for you! Try to think ahppy thoughts, just get yourself to the doc's on friday and get another 2 weeks sick note - I really don't see the point in not getting it, since they've been so incredibly unhelpful!

Sassafrass · 02/07/2008 10:18

Mustsleep, don't worry too much. Your maternity allowance will be backdated for you so you will get the money at some point =) I had the same problem, and of course it seems that whatever I apply for they all want hte same paperwork which I've already sent off somewhere else.

Sunshinemummy · 02/07/2008 10:27

Kasha many congratulations. Am so glad to hear he's doing well.

Mumiyumi I had an EMCS last time after 3 days in labour following induction. The MW referred me to the obstetrician and he gave me the choice, having talked me through the pros and cons of both options. MWs have been nothing but supportive though.

Pidge · 02/07/2008 10:34

kasha - amazing news - congratulations to you and your baby boy and family! Wishing him a speedy escape from the NICU.

biglips - just seen johnworf on another thread and baby katherine is doing ok.

LittleConnie · 02/07/2008 10:34

Wow congratulations Kasha!!! So pleased you're both doing well, and can't believe you're little boy is already here!

eandz so sorry to hear about your health issues... but as everyone has said as soon as you have all the results you know you'll be getting the best possible care. It sounds like you're being very well looked after so I hope you're not feeling too stressed.

mamamuffin thank you so much the bras are fantastic and sooo comfy

Saw the midwife yesterday and while she was listening to the heartbeat lo kicked the doppler probe away! Also booked into the birth centre so fingers crossed the bloods all come back normal.

As the amount of work I have to finish before leaving at the end of August piles up, my ability to focus on it is rapidly going down the toilet. Anyone else got this problem? I seem to spend more time feeling anxious about how much I have to do than getting any of it done

eandz · 02/07/2008 10:35

Kasha,
CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am soo excited for you and wondering how your doing. How did you deliver, how are you feeling now? I want details about your labor (whenever you have a chance to post them...and if you feel comfortable about posting them.)

Wow - Congratulations Kasha! I hope you and your new son are doing well and he doesn't need to stay too long in hospital.

Gosh, I just got back to work yesterday after going to Glastonbury and it took me all day to catch up with the threads, old and new (oh yeah and with work...) and now there's a birth announcement today!

Things are moving too fast!

Alaro...piriton syrup is great for the itching. Can have 5ml once a day.

Also, cool baths or showers seem to help.

becaroo · 02/07/2008 11:32

Kasha....I was just thinking about you this morning!!!!

CONGRATULTIONS!!!! Does your little one have a name yet?
