Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
mcchesers · 27/06/2008 16:56

woo hoo! doc says it's a prego rash and nothing serious, but she took a blood test just in case to check the liver. She was really good at taking blood as well and I can find out more about the results on Tuesday. She told me to get off the sleepy pills and gave me heaps of creams to slather over my hands and knees and er feet. Off to get the oatmeal bath woo!
Good Lord, you lot rattle on..lots to catch up on.

mummypig · 27/06/2008 16:58

that's great mccheesers

mcchesers · 27/06/2008 17:36

Minnie- Oh not good the SPD! I'll pull up a pew and join you in praying..poor DP.

Sweetkitty - sounds like all is well and truly on the go!

Poledra- I bought a six pack of cheap shop granny pants and six cheap shop nursing bras... just in case like you said. So soft and comfy!

Just put on the creme and itching worse than ever. damnit. i'll wait until DH gets home and try the bath. I need someone to do my feet ;)

CilC · 27/06/2008 17:36

So sorry to hear that Minnie. How traumatic for you, DP and family. I really hope you get results soon, at least you will know what is going on.

Take special care!

CilC · 27/06/2008 17:38

I am wearing big granny pants or DH's boxers now mcchesers! I thought all pregnant women did... Have I been mislead? COuld I have been wearing something nicer?

mcchesers · 27/06/2008 19:24

CilC- see normally i don't like anything on the bump, so it's all been low riding cotton knickers but not that the bump has dropped..nothing is comfy.

Ha! I couldn't get into DH's boxers if I tried and I only have one pair of maternity pjs and they are draw string.
oh well..not long to go now!!

min912 · 27/06/2008 19:38

Can't believe I have missed an entire thread! But I'm relieved to see I'm not the only person feeling like a big pregnant blimp at the moment... I keep telling myself 'under a month to go' and then I remember that actually a month is quite a long time! Still very slow but SPD manageable, just about.

However I am finally on maternity leave now which is quite a nice feeling, although I am a) having to sort out stuff for new renters on a rental property I own (down to me as DH is at work all day, so I've been meeting with gardeners/painters/some very random weirdos that I'd hope never to meet again) and b) finally found some builders to do our upstairs bathroom, and they can start work 10 days before my due date. They say it might take a month and part of me is thinking 'am I crazy??' and the other part is thinking 'well, we're going to be absolutely knackered and grumpy and out of sorts anyway, so perhaps better to have it all at once when we're too loopy to notice building mess'. Hmmm!

Congrats to everyone that's had a baby already... and for the rest of us, it will happen, even if it's later rather than sooner!

purplejennyrose · 27/06/2008 20:16

Thank you so much poledra and cilc for your c-section tips!! Off to study them and re-pack hosp bag for about 6th time!!

sweetkitty · 27/06/2008 20:47

Evening ladies just having an ice lolly, is anyone elses temperature up the spout, I am usually very cold blooded, DP and I are always arguing as I want the heating on and he is too hot. But now I am sweltering, now it's Scotland it's raining and I'm sweating.

Inspired by someone else watching newborn DVDs I got ours out to show the DDs, now I thought I was big this time but there footage of me at 37+ weeks with DD2 and I am HUGE much bigger. Theres also the first time the DDs met, aww, I look SOOOOO tired and big and flabby, DD2 looks huge though. Actually I was thinking about weight gain today, DD1 I put on 2 stone (was 10 stone to start with so went up to 12), DD2 put on 3 stone (but was 9 stone to start with this time), this time at 38 weeks I have put on 2 stone about just under 9 to start with. DD1 took about 8 weeks to lose the weight plus another stone, DD2 took about 2 weeks I kid you not, she sucked the fat out of me. Not bothered about weight gain/loss, we will worry about it after Christmas ladies

minnie - what can I say poor you and poor DH, I do believe that your body won't give birth until it feels ready so I think you LO will stay in until your a bit more settled.

mcchesers - great news about the rash although still a pain for you, on the pants subject I am not wearing anything different, I gave up on thongs a while ago and wear comfy boy shorts now anyway, have my cheapie ones packed though

min912 - welcome back yes we do chat a lot I think we will need another thread before these babies are all born

pigleychez · 27/06/2008 21:10

evening all,

Minnie- poor DH Really hope you get a diganosis (sp?) soon.

mcchesers- Glad your rash is nothing serious.
My legs have been itching like crazy. Have to be careful as i scratch too much and too hard that i make my legs bleed

SK- re weight loss.. I weighed myself this morning and put on 1stone 4lbs... Started off at 10 stone..so not too bad.

All this talk of newborn videos has propted me to get my camcorder out the back of the cupboard, dust it off and charge it. Cant wait to be filming our ickle bubba

DH was late home from work tonight and was pretty stressed as hes got alot on at the mo. Asked if i could have baby on Sunday so he can have his 2 weeks off now for a break

sweetkitty · 27/06/2008 21:18

If only these babies would come when we wanted them to pigley

Oh the MW told me I should have SEX to try and get the baby out, she says IHE it's the only old wives tale that works.

I told her it takes me 10 minutes to turn the light off in bed at night nevermind anything else it would be alright as long as I didn't move anything, DP said he was far too scared to come near me. This is going to be very interesting.

CilC · 27/06/2008 21:36

the very thought of marital relations at this stage of the game....
Definitely rather an icypole!

CilC · 27/06/2008 21:37
  • sorry icy pole = icy lolly
MINNIE1 · 27/06/2008 21:53

Thank you for you kind words.
We have gone up a step and DP is on meds THANK GOD.. The lady that did the test today rang and said she had results back and would refer them back to GP who will then get him started on meds!! So he is now on the meds but test came back all clear!! so i dont know weather its good or bad. We still dont know what is causing the fits.. But were lucky to have gotten this far so quick.. DP called everyone he knew to get things going and we struck gold, as got test results even though test should not have been back for a week!! The health system is such a joke! He has been banned from driving for 2 years and will be on the meds till then.. So our whole lives have changed in every possible way.

Sweetkitty
Sex O my... So not up for that...

Pigley
Hope your DH gets his break soon.

Off to bed for much needed sleep.

CilC · 27/06/2008 22:05

Night Minnie! All th best...

sweetkitty · 27/06/2008 22:09

aww minnie your poor DP hope they find out what is going on soon

CliC - I know relations at this stage I remember it from last time think of the most unerotic sex you can imagine and it's not even close, still when you go overdue desperation makes you do funny things

CilC · 27/06/2008 22:20

LOL sweetkitty!

libralady · 28/06/2008 05:47

morning cilc,

i'm up too feeding luke.

sweetkitty · 28/06/2008 07:34

sleepycat - I feel the exact same terrified of going through it all again, why I don't know not like I have horrendous births

Have been up since 6am, DD2 got up came into our bed and fell asleep, DP and I got up though. Miserable rainy Saturday too.

JacobsPrincess · 28/06/2008 07:34

Morning ladies
I've been wide awake since 4am, but couldn't face pain of getting out of bed until now! Worn down the battery on my DS playing Tetris, and finished another 11 (!) chapters of my book. Now on 3rd cup of coffe and 2nd slice of DS birthday cake. I'm bored. Will anyone else in this house wake up soon?

mummypig · 28/06/2008 07:40

morning ladies

oh minnie shame about the driving ban, I imagine it will stay in place even if he doesn't have any more seizures over the next 2 yrs.

Well I have had low back pain for a few days now and started having contractions at 2.30 am today, but typically, now that the midwife is on her way and one ds is awake, nothing for about half an hour. Haven't had a show or my waters breaking either but I am wondering if things will get moving once sil arrives to take the boys away. That's what happened with ds2 anyway - ds1 left 6.30 am and ds2 was born by 8.10 . Was really hoping to wait until next week though .

At least with a home birth I haven't had to get everyone up and out of the house, sort out parking etc just to be told to go back home again.

JacobsPrincess · 28/06/2008 07:45

Oooh Mummypig! Very exciting! Hope it all comes along nicely now and those contractions get going.
I think I had a show earlier this week, but nothing else yet, only a few niggly back pains.

CilC · 28/06/2008 08:21

Good luck Mummypig!
