I am not guilty by association - I was born in Edinburgh - tis the best place in UK to live according to the Gods that are Kirsty and Phil you know so na na na na naaaaaaaaaaaaaaa to you

we lived a good 25minutes drive away from Paisley but still to close for comfort which is one of the reasons I flitted north lol

no she's in a wee red checked dress, white socks, red cardi and red shoes - be warned well in advance before the photos are shoved in your face and you have to fawn all over them

gigglegirl · 18/06/2008 22:11

that's me done! written my questions way way too much information in them to post here - you'd all be ill! Internet doing funny things so going to call it a night!

Have a good day tmw!

Night
xx

Sausageandmash · 18/06/2008 22:11

Thanks Twilight for officially 'listing' me, and for your welcomes - although I am now feeling somewhat out of my depth, given the amount of posts - have you all completed some sort of secret speed typing/reading course?!

And yes, at 37 I don't actually feel decrepit, I just know that I am deemed 'mature' by the tactful doctors and 'ancient' by the ones who aren't!

Sausageandmash · 18/06/2008 22:12

And glad to see you all 'turn in' at a given hour. Clearly a highly organised protocol - I am sure I will soon assimilate! Good night.

dizzydixies · 18/06/2008 22:25

sausage we are notorious for chatting - a lot just read what you can be arsed reading and jump in at any point you like!

TwilightSurfer · 19/06/2008 02:48

Sausage the politically correct term is Advanced Maternal Age. My OB/GYN is five years YOUNGER than me so I always give him grief about being is his geriatric patient. I look at it this way, my great-grandmother had her last at 48 (she already had 11 kids at that point, what was one more) then lived to be 83 (she died when I was 26)...age isn't relevant. Oh and we've got folks on here from several time zones so if you need to chat in the weeeee hours, just type something...you never know who's online from the group.

Giggle I want to know what your questions are!!! I've been writing some of my own for my next visit (monday). However, if I don't stop contracting I might be asking them sooner (this friday).

Yes I said it, I think I'm dealing with contractions. 24 hours of belly tightenings. And I'm getting this "one" pain low, mid-belly...bikini line. The pain comes and goes so I think it might only be the baby pushing on something. I feel very heavy too so it might only be another growth spurt. I'm not in the mood to deal with drama so I'm just going to see what happens over the next 24 hours.

Okay on a cheery note: What about the name Natasha?? Be critical please.

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 19/06/2008 06:50

Natasha not my cup of tea as it has 'tash' as a nickname over here and thats slang for a moustache

what about Natalia on a similar vein? I think its lovely with Talia as a nn?

pregnancy1 · 19/06/2008 08:20

Oh, I like Natalia too.....

Morning. I haven't posted for ages as by the time I catch up on everyone's news, I'm out of time! Glad to hear that everyone is recovering and v jealous of ml starting soon . I've just promised my boss I'd work until at lest the 23rd July, later if I could.
Had our first NCT class last night - so different to the NHS ones. NHS ones were lots of people in a big room being taught lots of v useful stuff (but no chatting between mums). The NCT one seemed to be more about chatting and getting to know each other. We learnt lots too, but v diff style. It was nice to meet 6 other mums all due within 2 weeks of me in my area. Was also amusing to discover I'm not the only one who has bump envy, but new to discover that there was hospital envy too! Who'd have thought.....
xx

Mornin' All

Been a busy few days here - too much work not enough sleep and a bit more work to add to it.

Saw M/wife yesterday - measuring 29 weeks but am 30+4 but not worried. She did a urine dip and found sugar++, whatever that means, it is the second lot of sugar so am being sent for GTT next friday. Was also told I was a high risk for GD as was overweight at first appointment, BMI was 26.4 (considering that 10 weeks earlier it had been 32 she should shut up and behave!) So no bloods take as they could all be done next week together.

Dizzy sorry your child Doc couldn't give you an answer.

Cavey - you and Jerry just put your feet up and rest but thry and keep the chat down to about 3 pages a day as then those of us working get a chance to catch up when we get home.

TS - Natasha was high on our list until friends named our Goddaughter it - she is now Tasha the Basher

Sazzles - please to hear DD is better.

Hi to Sausage.

Will try catch up more later.

Buckets · 19/06/2008 09:34

Off for playdate with DS this am then MW at 2pm. Feel guilty as missing yet another school thing of DD's (sportsday) but there's no way I could take DS with me.
We're still arguing about middle names, baby is def Kurt now and Luke has to be in there somewhere for DH but our surname is monosyllabic so I think we need a three-syllable name in there to break up the staccato. DH likes the idea of KC or KG as a nn but I can't find a 3syll name I like, only Gideon which he doesn't like. If only he could be persuaded to ditch Luke.
Anyway, my point was, found a couple of pretty girls' names I hadn't thought of before, if anyone's looking for unusual:
Corisande and Gilda (oh and I'm loving Shantih!)
Dizzy how about the name Giles if you're from Edinburgh? (being patron saint and all)

CaptainCaveman · 19/06/2008 09:42

The chances of me staying awake long enough to chat on here all day would be about -100%. Got up with ds at 7am (dh out to work early), took him to nursery at 8.45, back to lie on the sofa and eat some jelly babies by 9am. Zero energy, despite the jelly babies doing their best for me

Things I need to do:
sleep
buy stuff like toiletries for my hosp bag
sleep
pack hosp bag
sleep
buy pushchair
sleep
buy newborn insert for Britax car seat (lost the original one)
sleep
wash baby clothes
sleep

Things I will achieve today:
sleep

This sounds like a very good plan to me.

TS how are those tightenings?
gigglegirl hoping all goes to plan for your appt today!

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Expectant · 19/06/2008 09:42

I like Natalia too - we had Nathalie on our shortlist but DH didn't like Nat as shortened version so I think it disappeared.

Dizzy - loving the school bag! I want one for myself..

Went to see one of my clients today she had the most beautiful flat. Would love to move to the same condo when our lease is up in January. Unfortunately I googled the condo and found out that monthly rent is about GBP5,000 I can't see that happening in the near future.....

CaptainCaveman · 19/06/2008 10:25

oooooohhhhh, pushchair ordered!!!!! Gone for the Quinny Buzz 3 in midnight. Going to go and sleep off the excitement!

Expectant · 19/06/2008 11:24

CC that's one off your list! Definitely sleep time now.

We're hopefully getting ours sorted on Saturday. We decided on this one
en.pegperegoskate.com/fabric-collection

in either bubbles green or moka (decided a black one isn't a good idea in these temperatures)!

It is exactly the same as the Mamas & Papas Skate just sold under a different brand name here.
