Let's hope the rest of the eggs get cracking very soon!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
thegreenfairy · 16/06/2008 15:37

Hi all

Well, the general view seems to be that the hatchers should stay here for now.

josey Olivia is beautiful. What a head of hair!

essie I hope you get some progress today.

Storm is going through some kind of growth spurt and fed at 3am, 4.30am, 5am, 6am, 8.30am, 9.30am, 10.30am, 11.20am, 12.30pm, 2pm and 3pm. I am going a bit mad and have had almost no sleep. Obviously she hasn't had much either and I think is a bit overtired and grizzly. Not the best of days really...

debinaustria · 16/06/2008 15:47

Ernest - Good idea, but it would be sod's law wouldn't it, to go into labour in Germany, probably in a traffic jam round Munich!!

Greenfairy - OMG, I remember days like that with Tristan - thanks for reminding me
Maybe Storm will have a great sleep tonight, she'll go 4 hours and you'll wake up before her wondering what's happening!!

Peartart - I have also become a moon worshipper - re the full moon, do you think we have to go outside and dance in the moonlight?

PP - Congratulations on being a home owner, I gave birth to Tristan 4 days after moving house so hopefully that's a good sign for you too.

DQ - lol at you stalking babies from your NCT group!!

PregnantPenguin · 16/06/2008 15:51

Wow Greenfairy that sounds hard - and reminds me to get sleep while I can. See, we really need you graduates around!

I am now a home owner. The estate agent will be dropping the keys off to me at 4pm. Woo-hoo! Something has finally displaced the "when is the baby going to turn up?" thoughts that have been going round my head like a washing machine...so what colour shall I paint the walls of the nursery? Just seen these wall stickers on ebay and am tempted to use them for the nursery and thought they would make you all laugh.

KT & DQ - Look at it as another 3 weeks and then you won't go as mad as me! I'm now looking at it as another 10 days, major tom style countdown going on in my head. Another way to look at it that for another 10 days I can continue to blame the bump for my belly, after that it's all jelly and no baby...

makecakesnotwar · 16/06/2008 15:55

Just checking in to see if we've had any more babies....

if you don't hear from me for the next couple of days/weeeks it's because we are moving on Friday (finally) and apparently it will take 10 woring days for o2 to get broadband up and running, even though we are taking the same number with us. Oh well....

Good luck to all those who have babies whilst I am in absentia...I love you all xxx

sophiewd · 16/06/2008 15:57

PP congratulations on becoming a homeowner.

Hope everyone is alright and.......

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH was just doing my books when April disappeared completely and it was up to date reconciled with bank statemenst. Guess what I am doing tonight F, P, W**

bitofadramaqueen · 16/06/2008 16:14

3 weeks... I'll try!

makecakes let me know how you find o2 broadband - we're going to look into switching providers soon. Good luck with the move!

8sophie* - that really sucks - have some virtual G&T

greenfairy - eek, not loving that feeding schedule, hope it doesn't last too long. I'm off for a nap...

whinegums · 16/06/2008 16:15

Hello all, especially Josey and Olivia, and the new mums, homeowners, etc.

Moon worshipping/dancing this Wednesday then? Hmmm.

DP has started work on the kitchen today. Hark at us, we're a two sink household at the moment!

I started a thread in Childbirth about the pool at our hospital (apparently they make you get out every 2 hours - weird) - and it seems to have gone off on something about a woman giving birth in a tree and Jesus (yes, Jesus!) giving birth in a barn! This isn't even from middle of the night posters!

bun2 · 16/06/2008 17:32

Hello all.

Haven't been on for a few days because I have had my DP staying with me - it was hard work!

Josey - Olivia is beautiful and sounds so strong. Hope the sickness improves soon. Love and best wishes.

Good luck all those experiencing labour as we speak. Can't wait to hear your news.

Just one question from me - those of you who have had sweeps how did you feel afterwards. I had mine today at 12pm and have had stabbing pains, backache and periody pains intermittently. Is this your experience?

On the good side MW said my cervix is central (?), soft and shortening. I am 2 cms dilated which is not unusual for 2nd time around. She had a good old poke around and reacons I might be 2.5 to 3 cms dilated now. She is doing another on thursday. Just hope these pains stop or turn into something more productive!

ktpie · 16/06/2008 17:32

whinegums - just had a look at that thread and it made me laugh, what was she on about!

pleasechange · 16/06/2008 17:53

Hi all - also haven't posted for a few days. Feeling a bit in limbo land, as I'm not even due for another week and not really feeling any imminent symptoms. I really thought something would have happened by now, as all of the first babies in my family have been born at least a week early!!

Reading greenfairy's post though, I know I should be grateful for the lazy time I'm having right now. Won't be able to sit reading for hours in the sun out the back for much longer!

Nightimes are so tedious - get a bad pain in my lower left side almost every night now and need paracetamol to deal with it. No idea what it is.

I've got a scan on Thursday - at my 36 wk scan the baby had an enlarged renal pelvis and apparently if it's still enlarged on Thurs, they will make sure I don't go overdue. Don't know if that means they'll induce me before the due date or not, but am hoping that the lo is fine and that the last scan was a blip. I got myself really stressed about it last time but apparently it's relatively common

PiggyPenguin · 16/06/2008 18:25

Thanks for the breastfeeding support everyone, and I'm glad we all think we should stay together I agree that it is much nicer this way.

Deb that website looks really useful, I am trying to latch Jamie on differently but it hard to break the lazy habits I got into with the other two when they were bigger and used to what they were doing.

Greenfairy - jamie feeds much more during the night than at daytime, which I agree is exhausting. Apparently your milk is somehow different at night (according to my mw) and most babies prefer to feed at night when very little.

PearTart · 16/06/2008 18:29

Deb- re: midnight moon dancing- I'm prepared to try anything! Seriously, there's enough foliage in the garden that we're not overlooked, so if this baby hasn't come by Wed night I'll be outside nakie, willing the moon to have its reputed effect.
Don't worry there'll be no photo!

Greenfairy- Ah sweet memories (should that be mamories?) of marathon- feeding sessions. It will get better, but a lot of babes do go through this non-stop feeding thang. I understand that the more they get during the day, the less they need at night...

Sophie- what a sh*t! I hope you can find the file lurking somewhere. And on you 2 day ML!!

josey · 16/06/2008 18:43

Hohum....well I just dont know if I should listen to the doctors anymore lol!!

There wasnt milk in Olivias lung there is a small amount of spray/mucus build up...which I assum is good as she is protecting herself with her gag when she is being sick...so they have taken the gaviscon again and are slowly building up her feeds again.

She got another EEG this afternoon they want to see if there is any improvement from last week, Im praying with everything I possibly can that she will show further improvement...I was trying not to look at the screen but you cant help yourself can you...anyway when they did the pain test she responded in each limb so I cant help but take that as a possitive sign....Can I? Will see tomorrow what the results are fingers crossed.

I have been told I have a bloody infection now....probably not looking after myself which I better sort....I have already lost 2stone.

SO anyway does anyone want to come and help me stab my MIL if she keeps telling everyone shit she just doesnt listen and went we are trying to have a possitive out look on life she is on the phone to her mates and folk every other min milking it to the max....AHHHH

Sophie hope you find you April A/cs

GF hope you have a better night and get some sleep those marathon feeds are hard going!!

Love to you all xx

bitofadramaqueen · 16/06/2008 18:53

Fingers crossed for tomorrows results Josey. Make sure you start looking after yourself!!!!

Shame about your bloody MIL btw, if you want to do her over I'm sure we can arrange an alibi for you

sophiewd · 16/06/2008 19:08

Josey all beginning to sound positive hope they still continue.

Sadly April seems to have gone forever so shall retire to my bed with receipts and bank statements later and do that while watching Mary Queen of Shops.

PearTart · 16/06/2008 19:35

Hope the house move goes smoothly Makecakes.

poppy34 · 16/06/2008 19:50

josey fingers crossed re results and take good care of yourself. sending you love and positive vibes for you and the gorgeous olivia.

pp congrats re house.

sophiewd hope mary helps with your accounts..

whinegums re thread..wtf was the jesus ref about ?

thegreenfairy · 16/06/2008 20:01

Hello again

Storm's feeding has slowed down (slightly). Now I think about it, she went through a bit of a marthon sesh from about 6.30pm last night so am hoping this is a 24 hour growth spurt rather than a 48 hour one. Done my research now and apparently it's normal at three days (check), six days (didn't notice), 10 days to 2 weeks (ie. now), three weeks, six weeks and ten weeks, and normally lasts 24 to 48 hours. Finally got dressed an hour ago having spent the whole day feeding in bed. Thank god DH works from home...

josey that's great news about olivia's gag reflex. Sorry to hear you have an infection tho. It must be so hard to think of yourself at the moment. Will happily off your MIL btw - just say the word - can blame it on my sleep deprivation!

pp yay re the house! well done you!

sophie sorry about the accounts. what a pain in the ar*e.

Okay, DH is walking Storm in the hotsling (a big hit) so off to catch 40 winks. Okay, about 12 probably

debinaustria · 16/06/2008 21:37

Josey - good luck for tomorrow's results

PP Congratulations and I love the pacman stickers

Makecakes - Happy house move, we'll miss you xx

Peartart - not enough foliage for my huge body, you'll have to do the naked bit yourself dear!!

Sophie - Hope April doesn't take you too long

Rolf - where are you???

Everyone else I've forgotten - sorry

Off to bed, occasional twinges but nothing major, not painful enough or regular enough yet.Hospital antenatal tomorrow morning.

mellymell · 16/06/2008 21:52

Debs and Peartart - I will be joining you in the moon dance. Obviously, that is what DS2 has been waiting for. Have got to the stage that I don't really care whether the neighbours see me or not - I will be out there doing some worship - it's either that or inserting a GPS and a map, and telling DS2 to bloody well ask for directions and head for the exit! .

looneytune · 16/06/2008 21:57

Just a flying visit as usual I'm afraid, just wanted to pop on and see how Josey is getting on.

Josey - I'm praying for you and keeping everything crossed that you have a happy outcome like my mum did. I'm certainly pleased to hear about the pain tests and really hope you get good results tomorrow. As for your MIL, well, some people!!! I think it's great how you are staying positive for your dd, I'm sure she's feeling those vibes from her mummy and daddy and is fighting with everything she's got. Do keep us posted xxx

Everyone else, I hope you're all doing well. I keep saying I'll come on and catch up properly and never manage to I would like to now but I'm off to bed as feeling a bit sick after the hotest meal I've ever had! Decided to try something spicy to see if it helps (probably won't) and ended up with an Lamb Phal from the local Indian, I think it's hotter than a Vindaloo and well, my mouth has been on fire since!!! Just need to get dh to give me a good seeing to and see if any of it helps!

Night night all and good luck to all those also still waiting xx

Essie3 · 17/06/2008 01:13

Essie's DH once again. Great news - the boy finally arrived at 21.14 on Monday, a lovely 6lb 1oz. The long version of the story from Essie herself may follow when she gets back from hospital, hopefully later on Tuesday, but it will contain the words "ambulance", "epidural", "hunger", "broken cord" and "beautiful baby". Now for some sleep...

debinaustria · 17/06/2008 06:27

Congratulations Essie and Mr Essie on the safe arrival of your little boy. And Mr Essie - I am very impressed by your commitment to Mumsnet -posting at that time Hope you slept well and looking forward to the full story and a photo when Essie comes out.

mellymell - like the GPS idea

Rolf - still no message from you, looks like you've beaten me and Mellymell to it.

Looney - did the curry get things going? I bet it seems very quiet in your house without all your mindee children.

Greenfairy - how was your night?

Sybil - I thought that site was useful, it's been 6 years since I was bfeeding so like you say you just remember the easy times when they just latch on easily, in any position, it will be so weird starting again from scratch.

Still nothing happening here apart from BH, been up every 2 hours in the night to the loo, but thankfully I got back to sleep each time. I'm back to the hospital for another antenatal this morning, will see what they have to say, I'll still put my bags in the car in case the fantasy labour comes true this week and saves us the dash to the hospital.

Have a good day everyone.
