Let's hope the rest of the eggs get cracking very soon!

Josey - hope Olivia is OK after her seizure.

Looks like I might have a UTI, got a letter from the docs today saying they have a prescription for me to pick up so presuming that is what it is.

Baby now has 24 hours to vacate before the midwife comes tomorrow to do the sweep. Hoping it comes before then. Am wondering if the state of my cervix (ectropic and likely to bleed!) will affect their ability to do a sweep. Guess I will find out tomorrow.

Going to go and drink more cranberry juice. Hope everyone else is OK.

Amberc · 26/06/2008 11:26

josey hope Olivia's OK little lamb and you can still take her home soon.

I found a really good Anita BF bra with underwires for the larger breasted lady - you actually get some shape. Breast pads do show right through though (as do they in all feeding bras for some reason). Don't need mine now for BF but since my boobs are so enormous waiting for the milk to go away they are the ony things that fit!

Re Colic - Luke loves a warm bath - can't keep him in it all day though (much as I would like to!) but it does cause some respite. It's nice having him in the bath with me.

Re cord - it stinks and it's been 11 days now - it wasn't gooey until the MW fiddled with it but she told me it was normal. She said she would come and see me on Mondy so I can wait until then or get her to come today. It MUST fall off by Monday right? At least I know goo and smell are normal.

Has anyone ever used a night nanny BTW? Am thinking of getting one twice a week (at great expense but if it means DP and I get two nights sleep a week it's worth every penny!!)

PiggyPenguin · 26/06/2008 11:47

JOsey - so sorry to hear that Olivia back in ICU. Hope she is better soon.

Rolf - I sympathise with the worries about coping solo. DH goes back to work on monday and I will the three of them for 13 hours a day on my own and am starting to panic clightly, particularly as Jamie always seems to want to feed as it is time to leave for school run. Hopefully after a few days we will wonder what we were so wrried about.

Essie - how was your night, vomit buddy? Jamie stayed up until 2 and fussed/whinged the whole time. I was trying not to feed hime too much and he wasn't sick - until 10.00 this morning when he threw up in his chair and all over the rug. At least the moses basket is easier to clean!

whinegums · 26/06/2008 11:52

Hi everyone, Josey sorry to hear about Olivia, and all the other frustrations.

Laura - Happy Due Date! As you haven't posted today, I hope you're either indulging in some treats, or even having your baby!

I really don't think monster is ever going to make an appearance, no engagement, no show, cervix still high and closed, nothing apart from some painful BH!

LauraT · 26/06/2008 12:05

Thanks Whinegums DH was working from home on the computer so had to hold off for my MN fix! Sadly no baby action yet today so baby has 12 hours left before officially join the overdue crew! think it must take after it's Dad as he is very much a leave it to the last minute and rush out the door putting on shoes and coat all at once type of person, whereas I tend to be chronically punctual!

Josey hope Olivia is just having a minor setback and the ICU transfer is a precaution. thinking of you. (and of course I don't take offence - I hate a lot of doctors too. Good communication is my pet subject and clearly this guy is not really getting it!)It sounds like he was trying to make sure that there were all sorts of contingency plans in place but this is definitely not the way to do it.

Am off out for lunch today and may try and get a pedicure or something as a treat to distract myself from impending overdueness...

hope those having feeding and sleeping problems have better days today!

bitofadramaqueen · 26/06/2008 12:35

AFternoon all. Josey really sorry to hear about Olivia.

Still nothing going on here. Laura hope you have a nice day out. I'm getting as far as John Lewis today for a laundry basket for LO's room. Exciting stuff.

Must go and get showered and dressed - only a few posts left on this thread btw if someone wants to take charge of that...

LauraT · 26/06/2008 12:43

hey, don't knock John Lewis, that's going to be our idea of a fun day out soon! nice changing facilitites and a coffee shop!

whoever recommended the figleaves clearance site, thank you - bargainous! have ordered 3 more bras for the price of about 1 from a real shop! was quite at all the pretty little ones though... mind you, never fitted in them in the first place!

right, I'm really off now...

aberdeenhiker · 26/06/2008 12:50

Amber - if the cord is all gunky it is probably just a day or so away from coming off. Fraser's took over two weeks to fall off and was disgusting but my midwife looked at it and pronounced it totally healthy and normal.

And if your baby will not settle in the evenings and cries for two hours there's only one thing to do - have a big glass of wine.

I'd also recommend a cranial osteopath...

I'm way too tired to catch up to all the conversations - DS1 has been up every night with teething pains (2 year molars) and Fraser's not settled between evening feeds. We've introduced the dummy (thank you dummy, I love you) and it's helping but this morning at 5am the dummy wouldn't cut it and we had to take turns sticking our pinkies in his mouth.

josey - hugs!!!!! I hope O is okay today.

I like josey's thread title suggestion. Too funny!

I'm hating doctors and doctor's receptionists at the moment.I'm trying to make appointments to get a coil fitted and they don't have any until August! As I'm allergic to condoms this means we can't even think about trying to have sex for over 10 weeks. I think I might just go to planned parenthood - they must be able to do them quicker. I'd really hoped to get the coil fitted at 7-8 weeks postpartumn rather than the 10-12 weeks it's looking like. (That's assuming my stitches eventually heal, they are still open and raw 19 days post-birth!).

whinegums · 26/06/2008 13:00

Oooh, just saw that Poppy had posted an 'Am I in labour' thread at about 8.30 this morning and hasn't posted since!!!

aberdeenhiker · 26/06/2008 13:12

exciting! Good eyes to spot that whinegums!

whinegums · 26/06/2008 13:28

Good eyes, and a bit bored today AH!

BTW, I had a mirena coil in the past, and had it fitted at family planning clinic - didn't have to wait for an appointment, and they were very good at doing it - much more practice than docs I would have thought. One of my friends had hers done at her GPs and they sounded a bit cak handed for want of a better description! And my eyes are watering at the thought of open and raw stitches nearly 3 weeks after birth - you poor thing!!!

bitofadramaqueen · 26/06/2008 13:28

Dressed! Laura dont forget that they have nice cakes in JL too!!! Right, shall I start a thread with poppy's title - it may be a while before she's back with us!

bitofadramaqueen · 26/06/2008 13:31

Ok we're moving to here

Let's hope this is our last ante-natal thread...
