peanut im still here playing the waiting game

jodie im glad you had a good time cheltenham is my nearest town to where i live about 5 miles away
and i have no idea where anything is at all and as for driving through chelt no way id get lost
ive only lived here 22 years

my doula has suggested i start expressing milk now and freezing it (how long does it last)
as having baby for def in 14 days now and as im insulin dependant my babies usually go to incubator for a while as they have low blood sugar
does this sound right to do this now?its new on me its just i dont want them to give ff and a feed is the best thing for low blood sugars
well i dont want bab arriving in the next 2 days now apart from tonight as dh is scotland till wednesday and if i need him its a 6 hour drive home to me plus i will be alone with no one to call
ive got half my bag packed now

JacobsPrincess · 22/06/2008 22:35

hi jacobs ive spoke to you on another thread i think
how are you doing?

Peanut73 · 22/06/2008 22:40

Disney - I had to express like mad when Charlie was in NICU. I have a freezer drawer full of milk bottles. It lasts three months frozen. Expressing early on also helps build up a good supply from what I've read.
x

JODIEhavingababy · 22/06/2008 22:43

Hi Jacobs, welcome aboard. I'll add you to the list now!

disney was very impressed by Cheltenham... Esp. The Montpellier bit, we spent lunch time there yesterday and just chilled out! Was nice having lunch without a toddler to entertain!

SK my bump measured 33cm on friday....

disneystar · 22/06/2008 22:43

ok peanut thanks for that may be a silly question to others but it was one i had never come across
what does charlie weigh now then peanut?

disneystar · 22/06/2008 22:45

had my bump measured last week came out at 39cm,
they tell me he weighs 5lb 10 they are having a laugh with me
you watch this baby is gonna weigh a lot more than that

JacobsPrincess · 22/06/2008 22:46

Hello Disney - the gestational diabetes thread!
I.m good thanks. Managed to get my hospital bag packed, birth plan written & tens machine ordered, at last. Still don't have nything for baby to wear or sleep in when he arrives though!

sweetkitty · 22/06/2008 22:46

Measure it round the fattest part Jodie

I'm 100cms or 39 inches (I'm a metre right round ), fundal height bang on 37 weeks!

OP posts:
Peanut73 · 22/06/2008 22:48

Well, he lost weight in the first two weeks in hospital but was up to 5lb 7oz when he came home (5lb 8oz birth weight). I took him to be weighed at the health clinic a week later and he was 6lb 4oz. That was a week ago and he has definitely put on more weight since then... can't wait to have him weighed again on Tuesday!

sweetkitty · 22/06/2008 22:48
