CaptainCaveman · 03/06/2008 15:58

I'm going to have Angel Delight for tea! I promised ds we could, and dh is away tonight. I will resist the temptation to mix it in my mouth though.......

CaptainCaveman · 03/06/2008 20:31

Where has everyone gone? Have you run away and started a new thread without me?

How rubbish am I? I was changing the bed clothes and got really out of breath - I had to sit down and take a rest . Still, nice quiet night with dh away in Belfast. Planning a nice early one. Ds just in bed now watching a bit of Tom & Jerry.

Anyone coming out to play???

oopsacoconut · 03/06/2008 20:40

Hi Cavey

I'm sort of floating about - seem to have someones cold. trying to have 4 different conversations in 3 differnet messenger programs

Anyone lost one?

CaptainCaveman · 03/06/2008 20:42

What, lost a cold? Nope, still have mine firmly wedged up my nose . Am just scanning through active convos...looking for fun!!

readyforbed · 03/06/2008 20:46

Bloody children won't go to sleep - put them in bed an hour ago.

CaptainCaveman · 03/06/2008 20:50

Have you resorted to drugging them yet? Calpol works a treat...

VintageGardenia · 03/06/2008 20:52

What ages are your DC rfb? Oh the irony of your name!

Am wondering whether can summon energy to dismantle blardy tent after weekend if you're guessing no you're warm.

readyforbed · 03/06/2008 20:54

Trying to buy a maternity swimsuit on ebay for hols (hooray - just won!) so had to wait to put DS2 back upstairs again. So off to do that now.

CaptainCaveman · 03/06/2008 20:54

Did you say you were selling your tent VG? Maybe leave it up a while longer and 'invite' people round to view it, like you would a house sale? Perhaps you can put it on rightmove?

VintageGardenia · 03/06/2008 20:57

No I think it was Buckets was selling hers. I was sleeping in it [hmm} at the weekend as a treat for DS and wrecked my back. Now see pain in every guyrope and bloody sticking zip. Though putting it on rightmove is quite attractive at the mo.

It could have a secondary use as maternity swimsuit for me at mo. Is approx right size, is waterproof & a neutral colour.

Ideal.

VintageGardenia · 03/06/2008 20:58

Mo is obviously my mot du jour, ha merry ha.

VintageGardenia · 03/06/2008 20:58

How am I going to last ANOTHER EIGHT WEEKS??

CaptainCaveman · 03/06/2008 21:00

Whatever possessed you to want to sleep in a tent? That is motherly dedication for you!

readyforbed · 03/06/2008 21:01

DS1 is 5, DS2 is 3.

I have heard that cheap, affordable accommodation is very hard to come buy at the moment (give it a couple of weeks...) so you might want to get in there quick.

CaptainCaveman · 03/06/2008 21:02

I know, I know. I was in the bath with ds this evening and thinking 'how much bigger can this belly get'? I'm only 29+2!!

readyforbed · 03/06/2008 21:04

I dream of 8 weeks . I have a plan that if i tell DC3 to come early (by around 3 weeks, no more) often enough then she might just listen (more chance of listening than with the boys anyway) and shorten this whole thing. I had forgotten how boring the last bit (she says, with 12 weeks to go) is.
Really want to go to the pub and spend a few hours drinking real alcohol in the summer sun.
How rubbish is our holiday to France going to be when I have to keep the wine to an absolute minimum (although, if the boys keep this up I might give it to them instead ).

oopsacoconut · 03/06/2008 21:05

VG book posted late this evening so hopefully it will be with you soon. Is tent not too wet to pack away - maybe it needs to dry so it doesn't go mouldy in the bag

Going to be very lazyand head for bed and to see if there's anything left to read next to the bed or i might have to raid waterstones tomorrow with a list of reccomendations from here.

readyforbed · 03/06/2008 21:05

Just realised I wouldn't be drinking in the summer sun anyway bearing in mind the stupid weather. So that's ok then .

CaptainCaveman · 03/06/2008 21:09

Am trying to make the most of not being woken by a screaming infant, and to lie down and rest whenever possible. Lots of white wine would help, especially if drunk outside in said summer sun. Ho hum.
Time has definately passed inordinately quickly with this pg - I cannot believe I am heading rapidly towards 30 weeks already! Perhaps its the distraction of a 4yo that helps??

oopsacoconut · 03/06/2008 21:10

rfb - France is NO fun when preggie - can't eat any fun things - cheese, pate and no wine Had weekend in Paris last week and felt i was missing out on everything! When are you due? If you have 12 weeks to go about the same time as me? 24/08.

CaptainCaveman · 03/06/2008 21:10

Good night oops, sleep tight

readyforbed · 03/06/2008 21:19

Oops - am due 28/8.

I know France isn't nearly as much fun as it would be otherwise in so many ways, but can't wait for the idea of sitting down not doing anything and not feeling guilty about it - rather than sitting down, not doing anything and feeling guilty about it as i do at the moment...

TwilightSurfer · 03/06/2008 21:19

I'm here, sort of. I've about finished all the laundry (even putting it away). Just can't convince DD to pick up the toys in her room so I can vaccumm. Threatened putting all left on floor in garbage can....

It's not my cold that's been lost either. Lots of coughing today around noon. Seems to have let up at the moment, thankfully.

VG, that tent could be useful in eight weeks when your DS can't handle the middle of the night fusses of the new little one. I don't even think he'll ask if you want to join him.

Sat on my birthy ball today. Seems smaller this time...or maybe I'm bigger? Used it loads with DD1 but it's just not comfortable this time. Guess baby's still breech.

Oh...my breech thread and JustJules' breech thread uncovered a bit of heated conversation amongst some MNers. Appears there are very strong views out there on certain topics.

Thought about another baby name today.... What about Sydney/Sidney? Good? Bad? Nothing?

OP posts:
VintageGardenia · 03/06/2008 21:22

Oh oops thanks a million! I will have it in time for weekend definitely. You're v kind. Also v perceptive, as re. tent you are dead right, it would actually be a MISTAKE to pack it. CC wanting didn't really come into it!

Actually I think I have a bit of pre-baby guilt for DS (9), I don't want to be a killjoy saying all the time oh I can't play football / lie on the floor for Monopoly / climb up to your bunk bed / sleep in tent because I am pregnant.

I am so with you girls on the longing to drink in the evening sun, free of responsibility (either to own body or anyone under 5') and not having to get up for work or anything tomorrow. Bliss!

Reality: somewhat different. Though actually am getting up early tomorrow for consultant visit before work, so should be nice to see the baby. If the man tries to weigh me I'll wrestle him to the floor.

readyforbed · 03/06/2008 21:23

Hmm.. boy or girl? Quite like it for a girl, but knew someone really annoying who had a boy named Sidney which puts me off on that one.
