Dizzy what should I do about the ladies who are due in Aug, gave their names in the beginning, but are now only posting on your location thread?

just seen that - I thought there were some nice names on it which is why I whipped from other board and posted it on here

I obviously didnt demolish it enough

miamla · 12/06/2008 16:58

i reckon anyone who hasn't posted on our due in aug thread since a certain date (even if they've posted elsewhere) should be moved off the list
perhaps we could have a "reserves" list up for a week and if anyone is lurking and wants to move off the reserves back into the team then they only have to say on here

dizz its ok, VG's looking the other way!

dizzydixies · 12/06/2008 17:01

TS didn't one of your lists show ** next to people who hadn't posted in a while? am I getting confused, I tend to do that a lot

miamla · 12/06/2008 17:02

oh and in case anyone was interested in my "menu" options...

Natural
Trimmed
Triangle
Landing strip
"Chaplin" mustache
Brazilian waxing/G-wax
Full-Brazilian/Hollywood/Bare
Fauxhawk
Mohawk
Dyed
The Butch/The Bull/rattail
Others ? V-shaped, heart-shaped, arrow, initials, etc

who would have thought we've got so many options!!

oh and while we're on the subject of hair swishes head from side to side rather unsubtly anyone notice anything different about me?

TwilightSurfer · 12/06/2008 17:06

Dizzy isn't there a Scotland babies thread still? I noticed the last time I cut names that there were a few on our list that seemed to have moved completely to threads like that....

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 12/06/2008 17:06

ooohhhh miamla, you look like you've just stepped out of a salon

I was telling dh re your 'menu' and think have traumatised poor bloke incase he had to research it all too

I am presuming you've gone with the heart shape ?!?

dizzydixies · 12/06/2008 17:07

TS the only ones I know from the Aug thread on the Babes in Scotland thread are poppy and hazie

are there more?!?

see what I mean about my observation skill - none, nada, head in clouds = dizzy

dizzydixies · 12/06/2008 17:09

an if they've moved out then they've moved out - they'll always be welcome back would just save you a mammoth list?

don't do it if you don't want to though, I just noticed some names on the last thread that I don't ever remember posting at all

right, don't speak to me again until I can give proof of sausage pasta

TwilightSurfer · 12/06/2008 17:10

I'm going through the names now. I thought there weere more. I'm looking at the old list and checking posts in the search area. It's going quicker this time but I'm eating a bowl of chili too so not working very fast.

Totally by Miamla's list. I'm really a sheltered girl.

OP posts:
miamla · 12/06/2008 17:18

hey, its not my list! it's my DP's list!!

why Dizzy, that's very kind of you to mention my hair! funny you should say that though, i'm just back from the hairdressers!

HazieDazieandBaby · 12/06/2008 17:18

I know I said it yesterday, but I can't believe how fast the thread is moving! Keeping up is making me work harder than I do at my actual place of employment!

I was at the m/w today and told her about the jerky movements that I sometimes feel, but she just looked a bit confused. She said to keep an eye on it and if I was still worried by the next appt, they could send me for a CTG, wtf is that? I'm more worried than when I went in now and wish I hadn't said anything

Sorry for running off last night during your personal shopper moment dizzy! I felt a bit tired and thought I'd grab the feeling while I could, but as usual I got to bed and lay awake for about 2hrs!! Loving your suggestions btw, I think you've missed your true calling in life! I would agree with adding baby name expert to your cv too! The site you recommended, gave me a suggestion of 'Ivory', but seeing as DH has a cousin whose baby is called Ebony, think we may give that one a miss...

Hope you're feeling a bit better albs, sometimes it's great to have a good cry and it makes me feel like I've had a bit of a clearout! I don't know how I'll get used to not crying in the future tbh!

Loving the new list TS! You have quite a knack for compiling info in an understandable way. I'd agree with the list trimmming exercise, I've seen people from the list posting on other threads, but they don't seem to come back to us Maybe all the goings on in the thread put them off!

I'm feeling a bit organised myself today! I ordered a card from Moonpig the other day for DH for Father's Day and got it today. I changed it so that it read something like 'Happy Father's Day to my Daddy-to-be' and made it as though it was from the baby iyswim? I uploaded one of the scan pics onto it too and it actually looks really good, even if I do say so myself! I know the baby isn't here yet, but I wanted to do something to say thank you to him for his support and stuff and thought it might be cute, if a little premature. I also ordered his b/day pressie today - he'll be 30 on 29th August and we had been planning to go away but aren't now for one reason or another! I thought I'd better get something sorted now cos knowing my luck I'd put it off and a little someone would put in an appearance and throw me right off track! He arranged me an amazing surprise 21st b/day party and I would feel really rally bad if I didn't do anything good for his 30th, just cos I didn't get round to it.

VintageGardenia · 12/06/2008 17:33

I am always watching you.

[starey eyes emoticon]

Hazie you are so thoughtful! I got DP a little Charlie & Lola board book for F. Day, and I am going to write him just a plain card saying thanks for everything & looking forward to everything etc etc but now I feel as if I should be doing more. Specially as he has been REALLY REALLY good to me for the past 7 months. Anyway your lucky old DH, good for you. LOL at those two names "together in perrrrrfect HAR-MO-NEEEE".

miamla had a hairdo, have you? Headhair, I mean. You look marvellous, very swishy. Re list - coo. Surely your DH is not going to achieve something like INITIALS or whatever with scissors alone? Have you got a wax stencil or something???

Think carefully about Chaplin moustache. I mean just make sure if you go for that one your midwife realises it's meant to be Chaplin and not Hitler!

I'd agree re. trimming (LOL) the list, it's tricky though because while some may just have lost interest, some might have had miscarriages, God forbid. Is it more heartless to leave people on or take them off? Perhaps as someone suggested, a sort of lurkers' list? And with a big message saying lurkers show yourselves, we won't put you next to dizzy or miamla on the sofa.

Not sure.

HazieDazieandBaby · 12/06/2008 17:34

Oh and miamla what if you got DP to do some crop circles in time for the birth? Could really freak a few poeple out!!

miamla · 12/06/2008 17:34

arrgh Hazie! you've just reminded me i've still got my dad's father's day card in my bag...forgot to post it! ooops!

i know we're not medically trained on here but i think most of us have felt jerky movements. i'd try not to worry if i were you

double arrgh you've also reminded me its DP's birthday next wednesday

triple arrgh that means its my brother's birthday on tuesday!

any cunning birthday present ideas for them? both are late 20s (the observant ones amongst you will therefore note that i do indeed have a toyboy )

VintageGardenia · 12/06/2008 17:36

Wouldn't it be weirder if when your DP got there there were ... da, da, daaaaaa ... crop circles already THERE, and you feigned complete ignorance, no idea at all as to how they might have been formed?

VintageGardenia · 12/06/2008 17:38

YES the funkiest t-shirts around though delivery times a bit tight.

VintageGardenia · 12/06/2008 17:41

Or as you are quite makey you could make them t-shirts yourself.

You can get paper to go in a normal laser printer that you can then iron off onto a t-shirt. So you print out the picture, turn it over on a plain white t-shirt and iron it on. They won't last a thousand years but can be fun. Would your brother like an Uncle one? If he isn't already an uncle.

HazieDazieandBaby · 12/06/2008 17:42

I think I've seen dad-to-be cards in WH Smith and Clinton cards VG, and you could still be in time for Moonpig if you wanted to do that. They don't seem to have any specific dad-to-be cards but you can just go in and change the text on the cards and make them say anything you like - well, within reason I'd imagine! Aww, I really like your book idea, that's so cute! Which one did you get? I thought about getting DH this book to go with the card

P.S. Your scary look has got me scared and I haven't even done anything!

miamla · 12/06/2008 17:44

i'm liking the idea of crop circles! a far safer bet than a hitler/chaplin moustache!

and VG, stencils are a great idea! am i brave enough to let him near me with wax though...

oooh you really are watching us! its all Dizzy's fault (ha ha i know she's off cooking pasta so can't defend herself and even if she's not cooking pasta, she's meant to be and still can't defend herself...its a win win situation!)

miamla · 12/06/2008 17:50

VG... a tshirt is a cunning idea for my brother. he's about the only one who hasn't had a hand painted one from me. as for DP, pretty much all of his tshirts have a painted contribution from me on them

excellent, that's brother sorted though!

as for getting crop circles done ready for DP to find them... i love it! but who's going to do them for me? no way i can do it myself (that was the whole reason dp was going there in the first place!) i wonder if there's any salons round here that will do a customised design?

HazieDazieandBaby · 12/06/2008 17:50

Lol at VG's suggestion that you get someone to do the crop circles for you miamla!!

And check you out with your toyboy! I was 19 when DH and I got together so toyboys weren't really an option for me at that point! And nor are they now, just to clarify! Love you DH! (just in case he happens to pass by whilst I'm on the thread!)
