My fave so far is the 'Erin' dress from Monsoon. Fingers crossed that the bump and I will fit into it!! At least I can (hopefully) try it on in Aberdeen first, I really hate buying stuff on the internet, it normally ends up a disappointment - like the IO dress

dizzydixies · 11/06/2008 21:30

I went into the monsoon in Dundee just before the wedding at beginning of May and was getting into their 22 even with my huge bump, the staff were lovely too and kept bringing me things, all of which fitted over bump no problem

am I right in thinking you have a John Lewis up by you too? they should have a Coast stand in there as well as some others

had a look at debenhams but not overly impressed tbh

miamla · 11/06/2008 21:32

evening all
any room on the sofa? i havne't been naughty but just feel like being cosy
wouldn't it be great if we could really all get together and sit on a big sofa?
still feeling dizzy but you lot are making me laugh!
dizzy, that first dress you found in monsoon is gorgeous! i may well pop in and try that one on myself!

and 10 pelvic floors everyone...

dizzydixies · 11/06/2008 21:35

10 more done, well done Miamla

HazieDazieandBaby · 11/06/2008 21:36

I'll definitely pop into Monsoon then, yay! Yeah, there's a John Lewis here with a Coast, the Debehams has a Coast and there's also a small Coast in one of the shopping centres! I think Debehams selection is quite poor too, I don't even really like going in there anymore, the whole place looks pretty grim tbh!

poppysocks · 11/06/2008 21:37

Blimey you ladies can chat! I've been trying to catch up all evening but each time I think I'm up to date, there's more!

Good to see you back Hazie. Sorry to hear that the lovely dress that looked perfect isn't. Rather glad I've opted out of the wedding we've been invited to in July (DH going alone) so don't have the clothing trauma. Am just SO huge this time round - although still mainly bump (I hope!).

I think I need to join both the bad parent and jerky baby sofas. Am currently enjoying a large glass of red wine, while eating chocolate - seems to have stopped the jerky movements though...

BTW Buckets - on your earlier post re: £60 for your Tesco shop. That sounds incredible. I find it hard to keep ours to double that .

hazie - don't forget Warehouse/Oasis/FCUK as well for a random find, all it takes is a well cut dress or top and you'll look like a dream

poppy am with you on the tesco shop - would love ours to be £60

the cairnie dates have moved to weekend of 21/22 - any use?

HazieDazieandBaby · 11/06/2008 21:59

Hi poppysocks! I don't really get to go to a lot of weddings so was really excited, especially when I thought I had a dress in mind too. I really, really want to go so hopefully dizzy has just saved me. No pressure dizzy! I'd agree with you on buckets' Tesco shop, we find it hard to keep within £75 per week and there's only 2 of us! It should be less now that I have been banned by you lot from buying more nappies though!!

Hi to you too cyteen , good luck on the continued pram hunt. I've heard that independent vendors can be really helpful so fingers crossed for you! Let us know how you get on.

dizzydixies · 11/06/2008 22:01

this is lovely too

HazieDazieandBaby · 11/06/2008 22:01

Right ladies, I'm off to bed. I'll try and get back on most nights now, it'll be easier to keep up that way anyway! Night night xx

dizzydixies · 11/06/2008 22:04

my favourite one yet I think

Hazie noooooo, come back

poppysocks · 11/06/2008 22:04

Ooh Dizzy - that weekend sounds doable here. Keep me posted!

Thanks to your reminder am now watching the fat babies programme. Ouch! My cousin broke the scales in the hospital so they don't know how far over 12lbs she was. No trace of fat on her now she's an adult, but she is over 6ft.

Of course, watching the prog. with chocolate pile to my right rapidly diminishing.....

Off work for the rest of the week to attempt potty training DD. Had a few successes this afternoon, but really can think of better things to be doing than cheering bodily functions, partic. when, even if this works, it's bound to cause a headache or two when DD2 arrives. Sigh.

longwayfromhome · 11/06/2008 22:06

Re: bras for pretty dresses - at my wedding I wore a stick on bra. They are basically two big breast shaped stickers that you use to hoick yourself up with, and very useful for bra impossible dresses - although not fantastically sexy. M&S didn't have them but BHS did.

dizzydixies · 11/06/2008 22:07

what age is she poppy?
am about having palpitations having watched that sodding programme - completely ruined my enjoyment of magnum white btw

am in St Andrews for osteopath on Fri morning so hoping for a nice day and a wee potter about

Sorry for the spotty posting. DD is out in her wading pool and I'm sitting at the door (inside) where it's cool searching for baby names. Funny Hazie brought that up. Today I'm working with Chandler as a first name. Chandler Viviann, Chandler Madison, Chandler McKenna, and Chandler Montine.

Oh and I do think the baby is head down (or close to being head down) now because her hiccups were in my lady garden area a little bit ago.

Very of all who are eating chocolate this evening......I seem to have RUN OUT. That's dangerous!!

dizzydixies · 11/06/2008 22:17

sazz I ordered from them too during my mammoth matty credit card panic and still wasn't impressed with their quality - hazie is only a size 10 there is no way she can't find something well cut and accomodating in the shops

why do these people think that just because you're buying matty clothes you should be prepared to pay over the odds for shitey quslity and finish

TS don't think Chandler is a patch on Maggie tbh - it just screams Friends at me? sorry

Dizzy have you seen this baby name site? Probably right about Chandler but I feel like I need to travel a different road for a while (namewise).

Right about the OVERPRICED matty clothes. HONESTLY there's stuff out there in the normal size areas that works just fine for pregnant ladies.

dizzydixies · 11/06/2008 22:22

there are one or two things I am an expert on so please note:

  1. wind
  2. internet shopping and spending credit
  3. piles
  4. tingly cream
  5. magnum whites

think thats about it really - not much of a CV now I see it typed down

dizzydixies · 11/06/2008 22:23

TS I like that one, its good to be able to put in things that you like but maybe wouldn't use and get suggestions back

a bit like me really lol
