I think it was the smell of garlic coming from my laptop that woke me. Dizzy you smell DIVINE!! Any food left?

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 10/06/2008 21:40

few slices of ciabatta and some lasagne heading your way

I apologise though as was a bit too eager hasty and took the lasagne out the oven a few minutes too soon, the top layer of pasta very slightly underdone but the rest is glorious

TwilightSurfer · 10/06/2008 21:43

thanks dizzy. any reason not to cook is a good thing. now DH will have to find his own dinner. lol {{in reality I purchased steaks today for DH to grill when he gets home from work.}}

TS I love cooking and my dh loves eating
in my eyes cooking is a very valid past time and if it happens to interfere with housework them so be it

TwilightSurfer · 10/06/2008 21:51

I love cooking too but then there's the clean up that has to take place. If only there were a maid to clean up after me in the kitchen..... My DH would PAY billions for one of those.

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 10/06/2008 21:51

ah no no no no no - I cook, he cleans

TwilightSurfer · 10/06/2008 21:53

Funny Moment: Today I found DD lounging in the baby's new car seat watching tv. She thinks it's her recliner. Even lost her remote in it.

Be prepared for a large moan session!!!!

Crap day at work today - got text at 11am saying i need to cancel hospital tour weds evening as they are both in london weds and not home until thursday evening - i have 10 weeks to go and can organise something closer to the time. I politely said No, i finish at 5.30 and made plans on my time - you cannot expect me to change plans at less than 24 hours. This brought up all sorts of issues from male boss (female boss hid in office!) I had nct yesterday and had organised cover for kids - cover had D&V so couldn't have kids. I went to nct as planned (not really my place to organise cover when off but often do to make things easier for all - esp. me) So today this came back to bite me - I should have not gone as nct is not their issue, baby/pregnancy is my situation deal with it on my time. So i kindly pointed out maternity rights and said they had note from midwife saying nct necessary for first time parents. I was then told they couldn't be expected to pay for my little outings to nct, m/wife/hospital appointments as they needed to pay for cover. At this point for the first time in this job (5 1/2 years) I stood up for myself and told him to look it up on web for my rights and he did have to pay me like it or not. He stormed out I burst into tears and he has avoided since. Female boss came out pretending nothing had happened and said - so can you cancel tomorrow? I just burst into tears and said no - you had the chance to do these things with your pregnancies now it's my turn, it has taken us 5 years 3 m/c and fertility treatment to get here and i will do everything i can to make my pregnancy and birth the way i want it!!!! She told me it stop over reacting all she did was ask. To make things worse littlest kiddie told her to go away and stop making me sad. So i am well and truly out of favour. Now am worried that tomorrow they wouldn't have organised someone to cover me for the evening and i will just have to stay and end up all stressed with blood pressure above my eyeballs!

Sorry for the winge - just needed to get it out -DH away with clients tonight.

Oppsa you had every right to say things as you said them. I'm totally shocked they reacted the way they did. When I nannied I had one family that was like that...One day I told the mother what she could do with herself.

OP posts:
dizzydixies · 10/06/2008 22:22

right thats it, offer stands for you oops just as it did for poppy I have no problem coming round and punching them on the nose on your behalf - just tell me where and when

sods

sazz am not telling him because have told him he's a weirdo and having an ally will not help the cause

TwilightSurfer · 10/06/2008 22:28

so much for me not cooking...
I've marinated the steaks and given DD some watermelon to tied her over. I'll need to cut up the tomatoes and cucumbers for the salad AND figure out how to do the potatoes. WORK WORK WORK
