Just immac them! The in shower stuff works although think it blocked our shower drain up - grr

dizzydixies · 10/06/2008 09:56

sazz ours is a bit different

6 wks @ 90%
15 wks @ 50% plus SMP
18 wks @ SMP only

39wks paid so hopefully with the child tax and child benefit and taking the girls out of nursery we might manage it

Ours is

26 weeks on state payment plus whatever your employer chooses to give you (hollow laugh)

26 weeks unpaid

14 weeks of unpaid parental leave can be taken in single days or blocks till your child is eight

So really I'm looking on it as 26 weeks and we'll see after that. Already feel weird at idea of baby being looked after by someone else and haven't even looked after it myself yet!

dizzydixies · 10/06/2008 10:13

sazz I would love to keep dd2 in the nursery on some mornings, its all a question of money and convenience.

They're both staying in 3 mornings till dd1 starts school in Aug by which time I'll see how the birth etc has gone

will arrange with nursery whether or not dd2 is going to leave completely or go in occassionally for a few moments, they don't normally do an adhoc thing but seeing as they know her and they'll make a double bubble from it (we have to pay even if off on holiday or sick and absent so I'd be using one of those spaces and paying for it) so we'll see.

DD1 will be going to school in the village but the nursery is across the bridge (1/2 hr round trip) so not sure I can be arsed with school run/nursery run/new baby only to collect dd1 from school again at 12pm/dd2 from nursery at 13:00

I just don't know!!!!

nothing ever simple is it?!?!

although I have just found out a very nice lady who is the mother or one of the wee boys we know is a childminder but not sure on the etiquette of asking her if she does adhoc spaces for dd2?

but you can at least see why am thinking I might as well bring her out and not pay a mini mortgage for her to be in nursery until she is funded next year lol

we're £500 just now for both girls in 5 mornings but dd2 about to move 'up' a room which will knock that down a bit as well as dropping them to 3 mornings

I think just putting dd2 in for 3 mornings every week will still be about £300 though which I would struggle to find tbh

Morning girls - I need you advice and I think I know what you will say....

Feeling quite short of breath today - even when sitting down. Whacked out from climbing a flight of stairs - it makes me puff and pant. Fingers starting to swell, so have removed wedding and engagement rings. Bump is farking HUGE for a mere 30 weeks (measured it last night and it was 35cm!!!! eeeeekkk). so, should I go home? I have phoned the mw and am waiting for her to call me back. I also feel bloody tired and teary today.

dizzydixies · 10/06/2008 10:38

home sweetie

home and relax and have some you time

I had a bit of a weepy day yesterday too, I think we're just getting to that stage

and FGS stop measuring your bump - no need!!

VintageGardenia · 10/06/2008 10:41

You forget about the nursery nightmare, I have just realised. Because DS is at school now and so much older I don't have similar problems, most notably the HIDEOUS cost of nursery. I remember when he went to school first I thought oh God what about school not being open during the holidays and finishing so early etc etc but now I just think well it will be nice if he's around in the house when the baby is here - he can enjoy the baby but is completely independent and will do his own thing safely if he gets bored - I don't have to entertain him. He can even make me a cup of coffee!

I was thinking this morning, when would I , or would I ever, feel like having another baby after this one, and I must admit the idea is pretty overwhelming. I am 36 now and running out of energy! The idea of school PLUS nursery PLUS baby is exhausting me.

dizzydixies · 10/06/2008 10:43

I have a smaller gap between this time as well VG which is worrying me slightly - dd2 is a tad more 'demanding' than dd1 ever was which is making me slightly more nervous and not quite ready to let go of the sanctury that is nursery quite yet

luckily dh is completely understanding re whole thing and is not insisting just because I'm off that she should be off too

VintageGardenia · 10/06/2008 10:44

CC get your arse into a cab and go home. This stage of preg is no time to be silly about taking a sick day.

What do you mean you measured bump, do you mean circumference?

dizzydixies · 10/06/2008 10:47

VG no she'll mean from pubic bone over top of bump to under chest - tis very difficult to do unless you're stick thin with VERY obvious baby bump and nothing else

you have to lie and feel for where baby starts and ends etc so can be completely unaccurate

CaptainCaveman · 10/06/2008 10:47

I mean the fundal height measurement. Orders taken and being acted upon NOW. Sorry dizzy for obsessive measuring, will now go and burn tape measure (its the clinician in me!). Am a bit worried it might be 'hydramnios' hence have called the mw. Catch you later - going home now. x

If mw suspects that too, you will get a scan and they will check the fluid. Check in later and let us know how you're doing. xx

VintageGardenia · 10/06/2008 10:51
dizzydixies · 10/06/2008 10:53

wasn't implying you couldn't do it properly CC sorry - I just think some things are left better alone so as not to be worrying yourself - feet up and relax lady and check in later to let us know how you are

pass the biccies VG

VintageGardenia · 10/06/2008 10:54

I have an 18-pack so help yourselves, girls.
