Gulp had to break off because DP came home late from work bearing a gorgeous box of goodies!

Namely these FAB PJs aren't they pretty? You could have knocked me down with a feather. Plus a special preg. cream against chloasma.

How can I every break it to the poor darling that I am not a S/M? Sniff. Wish I was.

dizzydixies · 09/06/2008 21:56

at goodies - I asked my dh for a packet of crisps and he's come through with a multi pack and I've just snaffled 3 packets of frazzles

what a lovely lovely lovely LOVELY dh you have

someone cut me off from the crisps please!

dizzydixies · 09/06/2008 21:57

VG am sorry but dh now hates your DP lol

VintageGardenia · 09/06/2008 21:57

Have to log off & behave like normal human being and squeeze into divine miniscule pjs.

What a sweetheart he is and it came just at the right time.

dizzy your workmates sound VILE. Agree 100 per cent with Sazz.

poppysocks · 09/06/2008 21:59

Sorry to hear about your colleagues Dizzy. At least you're out of all of that for the forseeable. I too work with far too many women for anyone's sanity. So bitchy. At least men tend to just be straightforward.

Forgot to tell you ladies that I was inspired by your good words on the subject to try a krispy kreme when on hols. Unfortunately it was just after that that I started to feel ill. Don't suppose there's a connection as DD was just getting over the same sort of thing, but am afraid that I won't be able to face another now. All the more for you ladies though!

TwilightSurfer · 10/06/2008 06:33

Morning. It's 1:25am here and I've been rudely awakened by a massive wind storm. The last 30 minutes I've seen Toto and the Wicked Witch fly by. And on the flip side of that commotion, the baby has twisted herself into a very uncomfortable transverse position so I'm wandering around the house bent over like the Hunchback of NotraDame. DH keeps mumbling "lay down....go back to sleep." He has no idea the forces of nature at work at this very moment.

Well I'll try to do a little yoga since the winds have calmed. Maybe I can move the LO enough to get some mild relief.

Wishing all you early risers a stress free and sunshiny day.

From Over the Rainbow,
TS

Yay for 30 weeks Sazzles! How does UK mat leave system work - e.g. how much paid leave & I assume if you are thinking of going till next summer you have optional unpaid?

Well TS sorry you had a disturbed night, your storms sound highly dramatic! Hope your yoga gives some relief and that you can nudge the baby into a more upright position.

Weather v nice here, calm and sort of sunnyish and all around vv green and lush, most tranquil. I love May and June in Dublin. We have 2 only slightly bruised roses out which makes me feel like candidate for Chelsea Garden Show.

How long does football go on for? We did watch a Lisbon Treaty thing last night (we have referendum on Thur) but I saw an alarming lineup of matches listed which had DP and DS going ooh, ooh look, yes, oh, hmm, yes. No-one will prevent me from watching the Apprentice tomorrow, it's the only thing I follow!

dizzy hope you found your ball / egg comfy. Get on the blower to yogaboy!

cyteen · 10/06/2008 09:31

Ah well, things could be worse TS - the only wind storms we've had round here have been of the flatulent variety although thankfully not for a while. My digestive system has never been so active!

I'm impressed that people can tell which way round their babies are lying - I have no clue whatsoever what my little one is doing in there, apart from kicking me of course. And hiccuping too, he had a fit of those this morning which was very cute

Off to meet the other NCT mums for tea and cake in a minute, yay. I'm feeling v chilled out as DP and I managed to end yesterday in an enjoyable fashion

VintageGardenia · 10/06/2008 09:33

Oooh cyteen you dirty devil!

dizzydixies · 10/06/2008 09:33

right, am no longer amused
am off to the preggy threads to beg and plead for help re these farking leg cramps.

was up again last night bouncing up and down and swearing a LOT!!

hopefully be back later with some sterling mn advice

VintageGardenia · 10/06/2008 09:38

Oh dizzy

My understanding:

  • from DP (who runs and rows etc): cramps in calf most likely due to dehydration
  • from midwife on Saturday's antenatal class: can be due do calcium or other mineral deficiency as everything sucked to the baby first
  • from yoga teacher: can be caused by pressure in blood vessels, need to stretch out legs slowly and do your ankle circles and pedalling movement, same as you would for varicose vein prevention

I would imagine a nice leg and foot massage with some warm oil would feel fantastic for you right now.

There's some leg cramp info here

dizzydixies · 10/06/2008 09:41

VG thank you, I was thinking it wouldn't be dehydration as I chuck in a lot of water throughout the day and am especially stringent about it at work as the air conditioning is non existant then again am maybe not compensating enough - will make a huge effort today (and no doubt spend most of the day in the toilet as a result - I had to go 3 times during the night last night )

must look out my pregnacare too - that has fallen by the wayside a bit

have not forgotten am to phone yoga bloke today too!

VintageGardenia · 10/06/2008 09:45

Oh look I'm back the the pregnacare today today. It's not that I forget, it's that they're like big black blinkin torpedoes and I gag on them. But get tired v quickly and all signs point to iron so down I will be forcing them.

PetitFilou1 · 10/06/2008 09:46

I agree dizzy massage a very good idea. I've not had leg cramp this time - so far - but remember how painful it was. Dh used to pull my foot out flat for me with my leg in the air until I stopped screaming! Why not go and have a pedicure which involves having a leg massage at the same time - sounds vg to me!

Sazzles - I'll have your coffee cornetto. I love coffee icecream and coffee and walnut cake ..... wishing I had some.......

VG - like the pjs - 10 points for your dh!

PetitFilou1 · 10/06/2008 09:47

dizzy I always have to go to the loo three times a night (knackered emoticon)
