I also have my lovely tingly cream for my legs which is FAB!!!!!!!

did you have a lovely holiday? id dd well? happy to be home in your own bed?

poppysocks · 06/06/2008 22:40

ROFL at your tan Sazzles. Glad it was a good holiday and you all got back safely.

Sorry to hear about your rubbish day (and week) Buckets. Hope you manage to get a bit of R&R some time soon, whether after tomorrow's wedding or instead of.

Sorry I missed you yesterday Dizzy. Made a quick escape from town after work to get to the hospital. Now in possession of a v. impressively blood blistered right arm, horribly bruised right hand and mildly bruised left arm. After all that I can't even feel or see where the Anti-D went in, so bonus there!

Went for lunch with friend/colleague who had her last day at work before mat leave. Baby due on Sunday . SO hoping for her sake she gets a bit of a rest before the wee one arrives. V. impressed she's lasted so long actually.

dizzydixies · 06/06/2008 22:42

poppy thats terrible about your arm - what a nonsense

we were in your neck again tonight at the flicks - was supposed to be seeing SITC but were too late so went in to see Indiana Jones instead

your dd sounds like a wee dream Sazz - I love this stage where they're trying to say things, dd2 is the same

can heartily recommend the tingly cream - tis my new favourite thing

don't you love clean sheets, I love them

oh good grief, I only ever iron pillow cases and that's because its a no brainer

dd2 turned 2 last week but am finding she is much lazier in her speech than dd1 because of

a. she has a dummy
b. she doesn't need to say a huge amount as dd2 does it all for her
c. she isn't as in love with her own voice as dd1 was/is she shocks people by some of the stuff she comes out with on occassion because they haven't heard her say it before - little tricky one

nope - still a yapper we challenged her to stay quiet for 5 minutes on one particularly day and she physically could not do it lol

poppysocks · 06/06/2008 23:08

Oh Sazzles, I so know where you're coming from with getting back to your own bed. I have slept so much better since we've been home and I've had space to spread out, as well as DH!

Our DD is being adorable at the moment, esp. with her speech. She'll very seriously hold up her hand and say 'in a five minutes' when I ask her to do things now. SO gorgeous. Just waiting for that all to evaporate come August...

you might be lucky, dd1 adored dd2 and expect her to adore this one too

dd2 on the other hand

dizzydixies · 06/06/2008 23:16

night sazz am not far behind you to be honest, am up at 5.30 for early shift should've been in bed hours ago

Buckets · 07/06/2008 10:36

Feeling better thanks guys. Broke down on phone to DH last night and begged him not to go today, think he'd decided not to anyway. He's happily mowing the lawn now, no doubt pleased not to have been up since 5am and with quite a bit of money in his pocket from the trainfare. I'd better go cheerlead .

miamla · 07/06/2008 11:31

ooh buckets, once your DH has finished cutting your grass, can you send him over here please, thanks!

i've been working since 8.30 this morning but its all from home so still in my pjs! ooh life is good! i was meant to be going into the office but we compromised!

i had so many replies for everyone but now i've come to type, can't remember a single one other than...dizzy, even ironing pillow cases is unnecessary!!!!

talking of beds...we've ordered a 6' by 7', should be here in a couple of weeks so DP's trying to finish the decorating before it arrives. its going to be soooo lovely having the extra room, i can't wait!

latest news on tummy button.... if i look at it at the right angle its still a flattie but i think i'm deluding myself! i have discovered a freckle that i didn't realise i had though! it was hidden in the depths of my tummy button!

TwilightSurfer · 07/06/2008 16:04

Sazzles, glad to have you back home. Your vacation sounds like it was quite relaxing.

30 WEEKS today ladies. That means 8 more to go (can you feel my wishful thinking). The baby, I believe, is not properly positioned in my belly. Her hiccups early this morning were around my lady garden area and I clearly felt a kick to my lowest rib a little while ago. That and the fact I can now cross my legs again gives me reason to celebrate.

DH has also just mowed the yard. Must be a Saturday morning male ritual. We are heading out to find lunch and piddle around town.

For those still sickly....{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}!

sorry girls, i need a rant. DP is being an arse and blaming it on me being pregnant. i've worked all day today with a brief break at lunchtime to go and buy a cat flap and new hinges for the shed door. i started working at 8.30 so i'm now finishing for the day. meanwhile, he got up about 1pm, played on his new rubiks cube til 4.30 and is now starting to do some more decorating in our bedroom. he had a little rant about bags being in the hall and i said if he moved them into a different room i'd sort them out. but apparently if he did that i'd never do it. told him he was being fair and he just walked off. i've just been up to check he was ok and not sulking, well he is and now he's upset me. ffs! i know what's really happening in his head is that he's annoyed with himself for wasting the day. i feel really quite chuffed with how much i've achieved which is probably making him feel worse (although i promise i haven't told him about being pleased with today's achievement)
I will be very surprised if he doesn't apologise later but when i went up there he was saying that i was hard to talk to today. i've been trying to chat to him while i was working but he was completely engrossed in the rubiks cube. He said we'd just put this afternoon down to me being in the 3rd trimester but i'm not having him blame his behaviour on our pregnancy. i'm not upset with him for wasting day. He knows what the deadline is for finishing our room and i'm confident he'll do it (even if it does mean working through the night). he obviously doesn't have as much confidence in himself as i do for him
and breathe! sorry for whinging, worse things are happening in many other people's lives, i just needed to have a little rant. i'm feeling better already!
and DP if you read this...you were an arse this afternoon but i'm still not cross with you, i just hope you come to your senses sooner rather than later

cyteen · 07/06/2008 17:17

You sound like a very fair-minded woman miamla. Don't forget, men have whoremoans too Just chalk it up to pregnancy moodiness (his), smile sweetly and say "Don't worry darling, I forgive you"

TS hooray for a comfortable leg-cross at last! Have a good lunch.

(((Buckets))) It all sounds exhausting and I take my hat off to you for being such a loving mum. I suppose it's inevitable that there will be trying days at this point in your journey with your DS - like someone else has said, you're both learning and taking this new path together, so not everything is going to go right. V glad your other half stayed home with you today, sounds like a bit of family p&q was just what the doctor ordered

Welcome back Sazz - ooh, nice tan

Our first foray into pramworld was a bit of a non-starter today. Had a grim driving experience (horrible greasy rain, everyone driving like twats, car skidded, DP got tired and stressed) so by the time we got to Mothercare we were both feeling quite 'meh' about the whole thing and just wanted to escape home! They didn't even have much of a range in Mothercare or BabiesRUs, so there wasn't much to look at. Hefted a Silver Cross - they're weighty, aren't they? Wanted to try the Pliko Pramette but neither place had it, so we're going to try out a friend's instead. Oh well, back to online research for now!

I feel utterly wiped out, again...must get mw to check my iron levels on Wednesday.

oopsacoconut · 07/06/2008 17:37

Helllooo Allll [big happy smiley grin]

How did you manage to get to page 15 so quickly????

At last we have a fully paid up and stored Pram here (breathe Dizzy it's not at home)we caved in and got the hard carrycot - as I have this thing about babies lying flat and not being in carseats too long - but it comes with carseat adaptoers too. We got it in Black as they one in stock and it was £100 cheaper than the blue we loved - as the box had been opened and the carrycot used that morning to show someone how it fitted on the demo chassis. I refused to pay an extra £100 for a closed box and a blue seat!!!! The shop will store it at no charge until she safely arrives and will deliver it to home the day before we come home from hospital. She also has some bedding which was in the sale and matches the new wallpaper in her room. My boss called today saying they were getting rid of their cot etc and did we want it - it has been used for about 10 days in total as they ended up co-sleeping so it has been stored in the garage - they also have a brand new organic mattrass never been slept on still in box. We said yes please how much and she said free to a good home So from totally disorganised 3 weeks ago we are pretty set. Although nothing will come into the house until she has been born, except bedding and clothes which need washing before use (but mil may do that for me!)

Going to sleep in the sun now

miamla · 07/06/2008 17:49

cyteen, thank you! i know you've only heard my side of it all but you've made me feel better! i may try your suggestion if he's still in a mood when i go up there next! woah, must have known i was talking about him...he's just come down, walked straight past me and is ignoring me. he's in proper sulk mode

oopsacoconut, you're sounding very organised! congratulations!

Shazza2002 · 07/06/2008 19:40

Evening everyone.

Sorry buckets you had such a bad time at the wedding. I find when DD is being naughty I am actually better at dealing with it when DP is not around, mainly because I have to. When DP is there I turn into a child aswell and start sulking almost and getting stressed out so he normally tells me to have a rest and he'll deal with it. How the hell am I going to get away with that when I'm no longer pregnant

Welcome back sazzles, of course you were missed. Very at size of your new bed. DP has ended up on the sofa twice this week cause I keep squashing him . My mum also has COPD and gets very annoyed at how restricted she gets, it's amazing how it can effect them more one day than others. She fell and broke her wrist last Tuesday so is well and truely peed off at the moment.

Stick to your guns mialma, my DP can be very stubborn sometimes even when he knows he's in the wrong. He will soon come round and be feeling guilty, then you can milk it for all it's worth.

Hope everybody else has had a nice day. I spent 3 hours tidying and cleaning this morning so bloody knackered now. Will be in bed very soon.

Buckets · 07/06/2008 20:03

PingMSL still trying to work out what Miamla's OH is sulking about - some bags left in the hall?

I'm feeling smug having made some butternut squash, French bean, kohlrabi and quinoa soup to go in the freezer (for me, everyone else hates soup). Think that's the equivalent of 6 pregnancy vitamin pills isn't it? Can you tell I just signed up to veggieboxes again? Wonder if it will improve or worsen my trapped wind? Would like to have sex tonight but don't trust myself with my additional soundtrack. Oh we'd would find it hilarious obviously but a bit of a passionkiller eh?
