Cyteen it's on Company Law - yawn !(apologies to any corporate lawyers out there).

TwilightSurfer · 04/06/2008 12:20

Expectant your mini break.

Dizzy push the DCs out into the garden to let them run and play. DD couldn't get enough of her yard time while spotty. I think it even helped them disappear faster.

Cyteen baby wipes only, a little witch hazel at least once a day, and vasoline after each shower.....sounds odd but it works nice and quick!!

Can't report I slept well but I did sleep. I obviously slept on my back because when I stood up from bed my legs all the way up through my butt muscles clinched...very funny sensation.

Buckets · 04/06/2008 13:33

Well... I ended up throwing up loads and causing some kind of swelling in my throat, just out of reach. Had awful acid and burny throat all night from being horizontal, then DS woke at 6am with a temp and was muttering complete delirious nonsense for a while. He seems fine since but DH then came down with the trots so is home too. Never rains but it pours, eh? Still, gave me a chance to nip out for some peppermint tea and Gaviscon (and a tiny satin purse for DD to wear with her bridesmaid dress on friday). We're all about to have a nap, DS has obligingly put himself down in his new bed.

TwilightSurfer · 04/06/2008 13:44

{{{{Buckets}}}} here's an umbrella
have a nice nap

dizzydixies · 04/06/2008 13:45

sympathy has run out, was woken up on pretense of 'lunch' and has since been sent out to clean up dog poop (I don't do dog poop) and take the washing up the back garden too, bump gets in way of carrying airer

girls chucked out back garden and I've had a salad for lunch - closely followed by big lump of chocolate cake I made yesterday

buckets am hoping you feel better very soon and at ds putting hiself down for a nap

LadyOfWaffle · 04/06/2008 14:00

Goodness me, another new thread! Well, I guess it's been a week or so since I have really be around. Final 9 weeks now, I can't believe it. BH are really bad this time, I didn't have any last time so I am always thinking "oh pants, am I starting labour?" (Was induced last time so nothing really to compare it to). Dizzy - saw MW on Monday, mentioned the soreness/bulging but I don't think she really got what I was on about (fill in midwife) but I guess if it was anything bad she would have said, just said it's all stretching down there. I know this is pretty rude ish to ask but how much weight has everyone put on already? I put on about a stone and a half last time, but from 7 weeks until Monday (30 + 3) I have put on 1kg... but then I am huuuuge so maybe it doesn't matter so much? Hope everyones doing well, just sat down with a tea and a Mars bar so will try and skim to catch up as best I can x

LadyOfWaffle · 04/06/2008 14:04

PMSL @ space hopper instead of a birthing ball, I would love to bring one along to the delivery suite

dizzydixies · 04/06/2008 14:04

LofW if you're sore still I would go and get it seen, not pleasant as such but even so

have put on 4kilos since by b ooking in appt at 15wks (I think thats about 10lb) which am quite pleased with as with dd1 I put on 4.5 stone and dd2 19lbs - am aiming for same as dd2, remembering too that I have big babies am hoping that its just filling in the big belly left by the previous two

am off out to be garden monitor as dd1 being bossy madam and shouting at the RAF for being too loud when flying overhead and dd2 nearing point of no return for her nap!

cyteen · 04/06/2008 14:07

Hiya LoW Good to see you again, and to hear that things are okay at present. Sadly I could never consider bringing a spacehopper to the birthing suite as my other half is rather phobic about them although it would be funny to see the look on his face...

Not sure how much weight I've actually put on, as I don't know what I was before, but was weighed yesterday and am 11.5 stone. Think I was around 10-10.5 before, so that's not too bad...I am only 5'3" though, so a curvy lass!

I'll see you tea and a Mars bar, and raise you toast and Nutella. Instant chocolately goodness, mmmmmmmmmmmm.

PetitFilou1 · 04/06/2008 14:36

Hello all
Feeling a bit cheerier today than yesterday -at least it has stopped RAINING (crosses fingers) Some poor girl died in a town near us yesterday as she got stuck in a storm drain
Anyone else just bored of being pregnant now? I weeded the garden this morning for about 1/2 hour and felt exhausted! (dcs at nursery) Have managed to make ice lollies, marinade some chicken, nearly kill the KitchenAid making breadcrumbs (sheared off part of the whizzy bit of the motor), buy some anti slug stuff, empty dishwasher and vaguely go through the chest of drawers in ds2's nursery. And that's it, I'm too tired now!

cyteen · 04/06/2008 14:40

Hi pf I heard about that storm death on the news - how awful

Not feeling too bored with being pregnant just yet, although I am heading that way, but I am certainly bored of the worry. Every day, at least 10 times a day: has he moved yet? Has he moved today? He seems very quiet, is he alright in there? Why did he have that flurry of violent movement a few days ago and now is just swishing about? What if I go to the mw and she can't find a heartbeat? AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH

CaptainCaveman · 04/06/2008 16:00

Hey ladies! Feeling better today but still not 100%. Have come home from work a couple of hours early though. Oh, and I've pulled a muscle in my ribs from coughing so much!

LMAO at space hopper idea. Ds got one for his birthday and it's blown up ready....will give it a go!

Getting looks of horror when people ask how long I've got left and I tell them 10 weeks. Comments such as "ooh, are you sure there is only one in there" are now a daily occurence . Total weight gain so far is approx 2 stone, most of that seems to be on my bump. Still, we'll see what the cons says at my appt a week tomorrow.

Been a lovely sunny day today - shame all my work clothes are long trousers!!

Buckets · 04/06/2008 17:31

LOL at spacehopper phobia.
Still burping up last night's cottage pie (farting and vomiting have subsided ) and weary-boned all over. DH let DS sleep way too long this avo so I've told him it's up to him to get him into bed tonight, I'm retiring at 7pm on the dot.

On a cheerier note, I have dressed up DD's BabyBorn doll in a new newborn sleepsuit and made them all cuddle it to practise (even DH)! I'm all excited now, can't wait to meet the real thing . Am really enjoying my Kurt Vonnegut book too so Kurt is deffo back to #1 slot for his name.

TwilightSurfer · 04/06/2008 18:12

Just your local internet shopper with a cool baby-gear item news flash. Check out these diaper bags. They are from recycled billboards!!

OP posts:
cyteen · 04/06/2008 18:17

They're rather cool TS, my other half would probably love one.

I came over all funny earlier and had to go and lie down...whereupon I promptly fell asleep A bad combination of eating too much and sitting in a warm, stuffy attic room.

PetitFilou1 · 04/06/2008 18:36

Buckets you poor thing, d&v in normality is bad enough but when pregnant......I can't imagine. I think I'm fairly teflon though with two preschoolers who both go to nursery (touches wood etc)

HazieDazieandBaby · 04/06/2008 18:48

I've seen those in a local department store TS, they're really cool! I wanted one that was made out of a Shrek 3 movie poster, but was a bit at the price of them - £65! Which would be about $130 I'd imagine. I have too many bags anyway so managed to step away from them!

How on earth did your DP get a phobia of spacehoppers cyteen? I remember my brother and I loved ours and even invented this game where we pretended we were aliens who had spacehoppers instead of legs!

I'm still loving being pregnant and would have the bump forever if I could (as long as I could have some sort of arm-stretch operation to help put on my shoes!), although I also really can't wait for the baby! I joked to DH that it would be cool to have a bump and a baby at the same time but he went as white as a sheet! I didn't mean I want another one right away - I'll see how we get on with this one first!

I've put on about 2.5 stone (not writing it in lbs as it looks scary!), but loving it as I was on a diet for my wedding for about 8mths and it's great to eat whatever I like now without counting the calories on the back of the packet first, although I sometimes still do it out of habit! I've figured that if I could lose the weight before, then I can do it again, so I don't think about it now...

poppysocks · 04/06/2008 18:50

Buckets and CC - my sympathy is with you. Think I'm pretty much recovered now, but still feeling SO tired. Guess that's just being pg though.

Should be feeling super chilled today as had morning off and the sun has been shining AND warm (rare here). Instead I did tons of cleaning - not sure where now though that DD's come home - and lots of other little jobs. Have a headache now though so DH has kindly taken DD off for a pre-bedtime go on the trike.

Also have the world's largest pot of bolognese simmering on hob to be adapted into various variations for DD's lunches to be frozen, more frozen batches for us post DD2's arrival when we need some lasagne/spag bols style nourishment or have visitors and a little left for this evening.

Appointment with midwife tomorrow for anti-D. It was april when I last saw anyone, so hoping all is still well.

poppysocks · 04/06/2008 18:56

Oh, and no idea how much weight I've put on. Put on 4 stone last time and people keep commenting on how HUGE I am. It seems to be mainly bump though. The ridiculous amount of chocolate I've been consuming since bfp day - in lieu of wine, you understand! - may well indicate otherwise though... Guess we'll see sometime around September when the dust has settled. SO don't want to have to face getting back into shape again.

VintageGardenia · 04/06/2008 19:01

Hi all, laughing at spacehopper phobia too, but I'm still sitting on mine DS's, and damn comfy it is too.

Went to consultant this morning, in and out quickly, quick scan, heartbeat, growth ("good size... it'll be eight something"), blood pressure, urine, iron warnings, blood test warnings, back in three weeks, all fine.

Feel huge today but back not so bad. In fact my yoga teacher (am I turning into one of those people who starts every sentence with "my yoga teacher says..."?) said it was my sacro-iliac joint, not strictly my back, it's the bit that goes through from bottom of spine to pelvis (alert - my twisted understanding of medicine). But she gave me some good stretches.

Oh dreary, who cares?

My bump seems very upright - what does this mean, isn't there an old wives' tale re. boy / girl? It's not spready at the sides is what I mean, though is very prominent.

8 weeks, 8 weeks, why have I not:

done baby shopping
cooked vats of bolognese
made hospital bag list other than g-strings etc
packed hospital bag
cleared baby room
done anything else useful, except sit on my sacro-iliac joint painting my toenails and playing MatchAttax with DS?

VintageGardenia · 04/06/2008 19:03

Re. weight I have put on 2 stone and am hoping for no more than another half by the end. However am pretty about likelihood of this. I lost a load of weight last year, really really don't want to have to do it all again - more than necessary, that is.

longwayfromhome · 04/06/2008 19:04

Oh I am very glad that other people are confessing to weight gain over 2 stone so far ...

I am thinking of buying a maternity swimming costume on ebay from a seller who will post abroad, as no luck finding one here.

Any thoughts about whether this (#1) or this (#2) is less likely to leave a slice of very nearly 30 week bump showing ... ?

Also given the weight gain, although I know that the advice is to buy something in your pre-pregnancy size do you think that it would be better to go up a size?

Clearly not being very decisive today.

Greetings to all, with non-infectious thoughts and much sympathy to those unwell/vomitting/spotty and general good wishes to the thread.

HazieDazieandBaby · 04/06/2008 19:36

I think the general old wives' tale is that a boy is carried high and a girl is low, but my bump sounds the same as yours VG and I'm having a girl. It's not spready either, I've had a few people say to me that my bump's neat and that you can't tell that I'm pregnant from behind, which is a bit as I would hope not - the bump definitely at the front!! A girl at my work had a baby boy, but her bump was the same shape as TS's*, who is having a girl!!

(*I've had the same amount of people tell me I'm huge tho, so it's all a bit confusing!)

CaptainCaveman · 04/06/2008 20:52

VG am bowing in awe at the fact you can still paint your toenails!!! HOW? How HOW do you do this? I end up grunting and not being able to breathe if I try (is that the cold lurgey or being pg?!)

Please prepare to be impressed that I have been doing a spot of gardening, of various kinds this evening. Have cut and raked the grass so it looks nice for photos which the estate agent will be re-taking on Friday. And I've done a spot of pruning on the other garden, of which the estate agent most definately will not be taking photos on Friday!!

dizzydixies · 04/06/2008 20:54

rolf @ CC and her pruning, I was considering it but couldn't be arsed!
